i actually watch less YT golf since YGT started. i miss just watching Grant play cool courses or the Bryan Bros going head to head.
if goodgood wants a comeback theres a huge void waiting to be filled.
anyone else starved for good YT golf vids?
Just saw Mr. Short Game video saying he had Intel that YGT is waiting until after the internet invitational to post their stop 3 videos. He said this is the case even though they have them ready and it sounds like they could have posted before the Invitational, which is what most people expected.
My theory is that at least one person in YGT was a winner or at least a finalist in the Internet Invitational. In that case, I could see the logic for waiting and then being able to capitalize on the post Invitational bump. Brad got a huge bump last year coming out of the event and I could see the YGT crew looking to capitalize on something similar this year.
Had the pleasure of chatting to Wil Mayo, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing at Rams Hill, earlier this week. Wil was heavily involved in getting the tournament there after Teeth of the Dog fell through, and told me some good stuff about both securing the event and hosting it. Among the topics we broached:
- How the tournament actually ended up there, with YGT directly reaching out to Wil.
- The course set-up: tees and pins were chosen by the captains.
- Each of the teams staying in their own separate accommodation.
- Josh Kelley doing trick shots on slip and slide.
- The exposure Rams Hill got from hosting YGT vs. more traditional forms of exposure like top 100 rankings (over 10k people scanned their QR code in Round 3).
It was a really insightful chat, so if you're interested have a read of the full conversation and a look at some great pictures from the event that they sent through: https://www.ytgolftalk.com/articles/behind-the-scenes-of-your-golf-tour-qampa-with-wil-from-rams-hill
