Alternatives to Spectrum?

My bill for internet alone just went up to 90 bucks. Started at 55 2 years ago, went up to 75 last year, now 90. I live in the city limits. Any alternatives would be appreciated.

Entry level help desk

Hi everyone! I’m considering moving to Yakima and was wondering what the job market is like for entry-level IT/help desk positions.

I’m looking for my first Tier 1 help desk role and have an associate degree in IT, CompTIA A+, and customer service experience.

Any advice on local companies or places to look would be appreciated. Thanks!

Looking for recommendations: Yakima contractors for leaks and mold remediation

We’re in the process of buying a home in the Terrace Heights area where we’ve confirmed there is mold, along with a leak/moisture issue that needs to be repaired. We also have someone in our household who is very sensitive to mold, so we need a contractor who will thoroughly address both the source of the leak and the mold remediation.
Looking for recommendations from long time locals who have personally used a contractor for this type of work. Who would you recommend or avoid?
Thanks!

Help Bring Back the IKE Letters – Eisenhower High School's Missing Symbol

For anyone who walked the halls of Eisenhower High School as a Cadet before 2013, you know what those big IKE letters meant. They were up there on the gym, watching over us, part of what made our school ours. When the building came down in 2013, The class of 70 made sure those letters were saved. They're still out there, in storage, waiting to come home.

We want to bring them back. Not to some warehouse or storage unit, but back where they belong—on the brown wall overlooking Zaepfel Stadium, visible to everyone who walks that campus. For alumni from 1958 to 2013, this isn't just about nostalgia. It's about having something tangible that says there time there mattered.

If you were part of the Cadet Alumni, or if you believe this piece of school history deserves to be seen again, we need the district and people like you to help make this happen. Does this resonate with you? Were you part of that era, and do you think those letters should come home?

Dogs Always Barking…?

Hi all! I’m new to Yakima from the western side of the state. I’m loving the lack of traffic, wide open skies, and the dry heat is so nice compared to high humidity. My only issue is with my neighbors, their dogs to be more specific. I’m a dog owner and love dogs but I can’t understand why nearly every home surrounding my apartment complex has dogs in the front yard barking all day and night - this is truly (unfortunately) no exaggeration. I’ve had one dog follow me and my dog and another dog ran at me and my dog, and the neighbor lazily called the dog back home. This may be a silly question but is this just neighborhood specific? I had to move here quickly for my job and did not have the time to scope out housing more thoroughly. If what I’m facing is neighborhood specific, what ARE the quieter neighborhoods in the city with good sidewalks for walking dogs or walking myself (without being barked at every corner)?
