Had about a month now. Got it for a moderately good deal. Low milage in very good condition. As far as a bike in Ireland goes its pretty good.
Ik its not very powerful but I love the look and since ive been getting into bikes its been a dream one to get.
Looking forward to making it my own :)
I honestly can't remember the last time I was this excited about something. I rode a motorcycle for the first time in my life 4 weeks ago. I took some weekend courses, practiced on an old heavy Suzuki that I kept dropping, and last week I picked out my very first bike, the R3. She is little but fierce, a perfect match for me.
I'm a new rider, and I just bought myself a brand new 2026 R3 after repeatedly dropping a much heavier hand-me-down bike. I do pretty well on smaller bikes/dirtbikes, and I really love the R3. I didn't really want to go the brand-new route, but with ridiculous used prices in my area, it just made more sense.
Obviously, I don't intend to drop my new bike, but I'm kind of nervous after dropping the heavy one a couple of times. What do you recommend to protect my frame and fairings as a new rider who may drop the bike? Are the cheap options on Amazon any good, or am I better off paying an arm and a leg to have the dealership install them for me?
Bought this 2019 r3 with 3800 miles. Absolutely beauty. The tires on it are original and are in great condition with no visible cracking. However i was wondering if they needed to be replaced ASAP or if its dangerous to ride with them since they're old. If possible would like to ride on these for a lil while to save up money for some good tires. Recs would be helpful!
So I never bought a new vehicle before but I got a pre-approval from the credit union at 5%. All the dealers have the 26 r3 listed on their websites at $5499. What do you guys thing I'll pay out the door with no add ons? How much is the tax usually?
Also should I skip gap insurance if I put 2k down?
Edit: I got the blue one for 6500 otd. They were out of black but the blue is still clean af.
This is a genuine dumb question but I’m not sure if Yamaha is asking to measure from one or the other when adjusting the chain. Is my chain good btw? I need a second opinion on if it has a good amount of slack. Thank you
I want a new exhaust for my R3. Ive had her for 5 years and I think its been needing to happen. What the best cheap exhausts?
I wanna buy a new aftermarket fairing kit, but mostly only 2024 is the latest i can see rn. Anyone currently have 2025? And tried?
What speed should I be at for each gear?
My new baby 🥹
Lowered 1.5” cause I’m a shortie lol (5’0). Passed my learners course last weekend & have taken her for two rides already down some pretty main roads - scary but we got from a to b safely. Love it already!
hey folks I just got my permit and now I'm in the market for an R3. I've been searching on FB marketplace but the prices seem kinda high to me. I'm in the PNW and see a few bikes that are around 4k for like a 2019, which seems kinda high to me. I also see some in the 3-4k range but they often are kinda sketchy, seen multiple listings where they say the previous owner reported the mileage wrong. Just wondering what's a good price for a used R3 these days vs a new one. Can i get a new one for under MSRP? I know dealers add some setup and destination charges but I'm thinking if I can get one for under 6500 OTD then I'd be happy.
I know people don't recommend getting a new bike as the first one, I'm planning on keeping this for a long time and want to make it a track bike eventually. I understand it will get dropped at some point (probably even on the first day i get it lol)
I was doing seasonal maintenance and checked my chain slack; the R3 should be 35 to 45mm according to the manual. I measured it, and it was at like ~40mm, but I feel like it has way too much slack. Am I correct in this concern, or is this really how it's supposed to be?
I have noticed this before, but recently, after my spring oil change, I noticed it felt odd under heavy engine braking, which made me want to look into this more, just in case. Not sure how to describe the "odd" engine breaking feeling, just doesn't feel like it usually does, perhaps I'm just engine breaking more aggressively than last season? (This is my second season)
Thanks for the help!
Hi everyone! Bought her back in August 25’ brand new and I’m coming up on 20k miles. What should I focus on servicing? I replaced the tires, chain and sprockets <2k miles ago and have been doing oil changes whenever the bike yells at me too. I know I have to replace the break pads but any other recommendations are very much welcome!
Edit 1: Also has a modified exhaust and aftermarket O2 sensor
Is this bike worth it I've 1500 in the bank
It was 1800 then it was 1500 then it disappeared now it's back for 1200

Just got a used 2023 r3 for my first bike. It had 940 miles in it when I got it. Looking to switch out the muffler so it sounds a bit less like a lawnmower. I keep seeing a slip on from akrapovic but there’s a few different models. Any recommendations for the best sound? Not trying to do a full exhaust and tune on it yet.
