For those of you that have rode on a Yamaha MT07 and R7.

I’ve currently got a 24 R7 but unsure if I want to trade for an MT. I love the way fairings look of sport bikes which is why I got the R7 but damn do road trips get uncomfortable after 4 hours. Is there anyway to make it more comfortable? I’ve thought about doing clip on risers and it would be the cheaper option but I want to know people with experience with both

EBay exhaust popping on deceleration

I just bought a 2023 model with just a cheap eBay sc project and it keeps popping heaps on deceleration only starting at 3k rpms and below and I was wondering if anyone knows what the problem is
I’ve already changed the exhaust gaskets and put exhaust sealant on the mid pipe connection and the can connection as well I got a tune first as I though that was the reason but that hasn’t fixed it
Any help would be really appreciated as I can’t find what the problem is
Thank you

2026 Yamaha R7 Design Colour Inspirations

Hey all, just want to share some inspiration for some 2026 Yamaha R7, colorways that would look cool, compared to the factory option colours.

What is everyone's thoughts.

Wondering if I absolutely need a tune for my 2026 R7 if I get an exhaust. In my experience I wouldn’t for most engines it just wouldn’t gain any power. But I’m not sure how picky these are.

Burning smell coming from new bike.

I just brought my 26' R7 home from the dealer and about 10 miles into the first ride I started smelling a massive whiff of burning and plastic.

I'm not riding it hard and it hasn't gone away (now at 35 miles). I'm guessing this is normal break-in, maybe the clutch wearing in. Just wanted to make sure the smell is normal during break-in?

Is there a reason for brand new bike from the factory to be overfilled with oil?

I got my 26 R7 and been riding it for roughly 400 miles now, came across a few posts from others reporting that their brand new R7 are overfilled. Checked mine and yep it is indeed overfilled, drained some out to be at the level line.

Is there a reason manufacturer shipped a vehicle overfilled with oil? does that have to do anything with the break in period since they recommended to change the oil at 600 miles? Sorry I’m relatively new to motorcycle even though I’ve work on plenty of cars

Hate this fail. Scary and just obnoxious

After getting off a frontage road doing about 60-70, I pull into a restaurant, park and this happens. GOD IS GOOD.

First Track Day - BMP

Finally got the courage to do a track day. I'm hooked. Shoutout to my coach (my fiancé) for trading in a track day to drop into novice with me. Learning race lines following an XSR was oddly comforting lol.

Beginner rider

Give me some tips, I’ve passed the MSF (twice, let it expire the first time), I’m here for any maintenance, riding or tips in general. I’ve never ridding a bike in my life outside of a four wheeler I’ve got plenty of experience with manual cars. I’ve had the bike for 2 years bought it brand new 2024 and I’ve finally gotten the clearance from the wife to keep it and ride it at my own will (god send) lol I’m also 5’3 so I am tip toeing the bike. I’m comfortable on highways and on back roads that I’m familiar with, but what are some things I can proactive to actually learn my bike and loosen up my nerves ?! TYIA

Black r7 gold wheels

About a month ago I purchased a 60th anniversary r7 and asked for opinions on swapping the fairings out to a black kit. Despite the consensus being the white fairings looked better I decided to pull the trigger. I couldn’t stand the yellow on the front of the bike.

I couldn’t be happier with how this turned out, what do you guys think?

Thinking about losing the mirrors all together...

The ant antenna bother me immensely. I have removed them from nearly every bike I've had. But the seating position on the R7 makes bar ends difficult, & the Rizoma are stupid-looking to me too...so I'm thinking nothing is better than the antenna. Honestly, I barely use them anyway.

Anyone do w/out mirrors?
