Hey y'all, I am an anime only so I don't know what happens in the manga. But regardless, even if did watch the manga, this question would keep popping up on my head. So far from what I can gleam, the antagonists of the show want both Seal and Break to emerge, and for them to control them for their schemes. As of now, Asa has her Break ability and is being hunted down. Yuru doesn't have his as of yet.
But my question is, even if he did get it, why would he even help or be coerced by the bad guys? If through Yuru and Asa, absolute power runs in their veins when their abilities are activated, why would they even "give in" to what others want. And from what I understand, they are the only ones who get to use it, It can't get "extracted" from what I understand. I might be missing some stuff or the possible ultimate reveal as to why they shouldn't HAVE those abilities isn't yet in play. Let me know if you could. Would appreciate some clarification.
Saw the brain-rot crowd complaining that the anime is too slow and nothing exciting has really happened so far, which really made me realize how some people need to learn the difference between a show being slow-paced and simply being better suited for binge-watching. Yeah the last couple of episodes of "Daemons of the Shadow Realm" did feel like they dragged a little, but I honestly think that’s mostly because we had to wait an entire week between episodes to watch an event that was meant to be a cool little side-quest and only lasted about 30 minutes in-universe.
Like FMA probably had some episodes with similar pacing, the only reason people didn't call those episodes slow-paced is because the show was already done, so they could just binge them back-to-back. That naturally made those slower sections feel much quicker and less drawn out.
I’m sure that if someone waited until DoTSR was finished and binge-watched it, then their viewing experience would probably be a lot more enjoyable, since the story itself isn’t necessarily too slow; the weekly release schedule just makes certain parts feel slower than they actually are.
Loving this series a lot saw the anime as far as it goes right now and been reading the volumes one after another. Only 2 volumes left to get then it's the wait till vol. 12 comes out 😅.
S1E1 I'm already questioning the the translation hahahaha. Dude in english says "perfect trails of dragon wind" - when the translation calls it a dragon's fart (clearly shown above). Wtf?
Manga spoilers (I read up to chapter 55) sorry for the long text
>!In the early chapters, Yuru says something like "they seem trustworthy" when Sayuu-sama asks if she should trust Hana and Dera. Later, when they go to the warehouses and Azuma's Tsugai kidnaps Yuru, Dera tells a bandit that Yuru is looking for someone she can trust. We also have the conversation between Hana and Ken, where Hana mentions that, after what happened in Higashi Village, Yuru no longer knows who to trust.!<
>!Now, in chapter 55, Yuru tells Asa that since leaving the village, she distrusts everyone.!<
>!My problem is that none of these comments seem to be supported by Yuru's behavior. She never seems to have much trouble trusting Dera or Hana, even though they both work for Higashi Village and Dera was involved in the village's deception for ten years. He also doesn't seem to have any trouble trusting Danji or Kiri, who were also part of the lie, and Kiri even pretended to be Asa to prevent Yuru from leaving the village.!<
>!Even when Azuma, the same one who sent spies to follow Yuru when he left the Kagemori mansion, proposes an alliance, Yuru doesn't seem uncomfortable or suspect that he might have ulterior motives. If I remember correctly, that matter isn't mentioned again.!<
>!Danji's case seems even more obvious to me. Yuru's anger towards him doesn't last long: after spending some time alone in the forest, it seems to have subsided. When Danji calls for help with a smoke signal, Yuru goes to help him. Later, they even have a conversation with Asa and Kiri, but Yuru doesn't seem to be angry or hold a grudge against either of them, and he doesn't even question them. Even when he returns to the village, he doesn't seem to show any resentment towards Kyouka (I think that was the name of Kiri and Danji's mistress) and ends up living with them without any problems.!<
>!In general, we don't see Yuru questioning the information he receives, thinking he might be being deceived or betrayed. Nor does he seem to make decisions considering the possibility of betrayal. He simply doesn't act like someone who genuinely doesn't know who to trust.!<
>!That's why I'm not entirely convinced by the justification that this is due to his "hunter mentality" or that "Yuru is pragmatic and doesn't let his emotions get the better of him." If Yuru truly tries to be pragmatic, I think it would make sense for him to be more cautious and analyze more carefully who he can trust.!<
>!I understand that if Yuru constantly distrusted everyone, the plot would progress much more slowly. But that's precisely my problem: I feel like the manga tries to establish Yuru's distrust without actually showing it in his behavior. It seems to not want to completely eliminate this trait because it's interesting for the character, but it also doesn't want to give it real consequences because that would complicate the plot's development and the relationships between characters.!<
>!Ultimately, if I were simply told that Yuru trusts everyone, I don't see much that would change his behavior or how he interacts with others.!<
>!I don't think a betrayal of Yuru is necessarily going to happen, but the manga quite insists that the reader understands Yuru distrusts others. The problem is that, so far, this idea seems to be supported mainly by character comments, rather than by their actions.!<
>!In other words, I get the impression that the manga wants the reader to understand that Yuru distrusts others, but at the same time prevents him from acting like someone who is truly distrustful so as not to complicate the plot. And I think that ends up weakening some moments, like the conflict between Danji and Yuru, because the story establishes that Yuru's trust was deeply affected, but afterward, his behavior doesn't reflect any consequences.!<
>!Do you feel that Yuru actually shows distrust at any point that I might have missed? If you have any specific examples of times when Yuru acts suspiciously, I'd love to read them :)!<

Man with mission! Shit I got goosebumps, best episode of this cour! So intense man...
Yesterday, after watching the anime episode A friend mentioned that the manga probably has about 54 chapters left, since he said the monthly manga he's read tends to have around 110 chapters. Now, this fits with Fullmetal Alchemist wich lasted 108, but I don't know, I feel like at chapter 56 of the manga it's nowhere near as far as Fullmetal Alchemist is at its own chapter 56 (the chapter where Bradley tells Ed to stop interfering or he'll hurt Winry).
Now, as I said, in Fullmetal Alchemist, this is where the ending of the series began to take shape, while in Yomi no Tsugai, although the Kagemori mansion incident occurred, I don't think the story is ready enough to say that the manga is halfway through.
My personal bet is that the manga will last about 150 chapters or something like that.
HIROMU ARAKAWA MY GOAT
My fault tbh I should've guessed by the art style
I know it wont be the same but does he still end up caring for her at a level im asking this because I feel bad because she seems like a genuinely good person or daemon I guess.

I DID NOT EXPECT ANYTHING.
The first baby scene was classic; the twins gave me Shaman King vibes, so I was lowk expecting the granny to kill them or sum, anyway. Next scene, I expected the black-haired baby to be a boy, and the main character; BOTH ASSUMPTIONS WERE WRONG. I was expecting this to be a classic medieval shonen. THE ENTIRE FUCKING MEDIEVAL PART WAS WRONG FYM THERE ARE HELICOPTERS. I got Simon vibes for Dera, so I assumed he'd be a big brother figure (that was correct, please DONT betray Yuru). I STILL THOUGHT HE WAS JUST A CHILL GUY. THE GALLOPING DAEMON FUCK DO YOU MEAN HE CLAPPED AN ENTIRE ARMY SQUAD AND PULLED OUT A CELL PHONE.
I LOVE THIS IDC AHHH
