Which one should I choose

So I recently upgraded to a 9070xt from the 7700xt, and my cpu is a 7600x, I play alot of cpu bound games like the finals, spider man remastered, and modded Minecraft with huge modpacks and shaders, and arc raiders too, and also Elden ring with fps unlocker, and sim racers these are my main games although I do play rdr2 and some other GPU bound games but very rarely, and as u can tell, my main games are litteraly all CPU bound, and in those games my GPU always stays at 85% people told me there wouldn't be a bottleneck cuz u play at 1440p max settings, well there is a bottleneck, now Im tryna save up for a new CPU too but idk which one I should choose, the 7800x3d or the 9800x3d, there's about a 80$ price difference between them, also I'm tryna get an oled afterwards so my refresh rate is 180hz rn but would become 240hz after a few months once I get an oled

Question regarding a pc trade

Hello everyone hope everyone is doing well, I am wondering if I’m getting the good end of a trade I was offered a 4060 system with a Ryzen 5 5500 and 16gb of ram for my ps5. This would just be a trade no money on top. Was wondering if you guys thought it was worth it or not, personally I think it is but wanted to get your guys opinions. Thanks!

Rate my bottleneck lol. Just slapped a 4070 Super into my old 7700K setup. Who else is still squeezing every last drop out of their DDR4 rig?

Alright, so my trusty old GPU finally bit the dust, and I just pulled the trigger on an RTX 4070 Super.

Here is the catch: I am fiercely holding onto my DDR4 platform. I’m still rocking my absolute trooper of an i7-7700K. I delidded it years ago, it's running a rock-solid 5.0GHz overclock, and I have 32GB of decent DDR4 RAM that I really don't want to waste.

I know a 4-core CPU is going to scream for mercy in modern games, but I play at 1440p where things are more GPU-bound anyway. Am I completely choking this 4070 Super, or can this DDR4 legend hold the line for one more year?

Help me decide. 3080 or 4070?

I'm currently in the process of building my first ever gaming pc, I have everything except the GPU and PSU and I have a really difficult decision to make, I have a Ryzen 7 5800x with 32gb ddr4 ram and i can't decide if I should buy the 3080 10gb for £300 or wait two weeks and be able to buy a 4070 12gb for £450. I currently have a 1080p 144hz monitor and don't plan to buy a 1440p and if I play on the 4070 I don't think the GPU will be used to its full power because of the monitor so it would be a waste? I plan to play a lot of different AAA games like cyberpunk and a lot more new and old ones.

They're both from eBay so they're used but I talked with both of the sellers and asked for multiple photos and they both seem in excellent condition, the only problem I have is if I wait for the 4070 someone else might buy it, so I either buy the 3080 now or wait and pray no one buys the 4070.

I'd love any kind of help. <3

Ryzen 5 5500
ASRock B550M HDV MATX

$1016 and only pulls 400W (maybe a little more)

I guess i wont be solving anything...

Long story short... I still need ram😔

https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/1vejsat/i_will_single_handedly_solve_the_ramcrisis/

but anyways here is my first pc i built myself

upgraded from an rtx2060s r3600 i sold last year,

failed in the cable management department though.

specs:

deepcool ch160plus

7800x3d

aorus b650m elite

saphire rx 9070 nitro plus

16gb sodimm with adapter from my fathers laptop

512gb gen 3 from an old broken laptop we have

deepcool pq1000g

3 deepcool fd12 v2 fans, (need help with best airflow setup for now i set the top ones intake and the rear exhaust with slightly higher rpm than other fans, temps are good)

costed me about 1250usd + 180 for the screen since i didn't buy the ram nor ssd, i was saving for too long and actually planned to finish this long time ago but things happened and it got delayed till yesterday.

my problem is the sodimm to uddimm adapter didnt workout as expected and seen from videos in youtube, i have a micron 16gb 5600 cl46 but it just failed to boot anything past 4000 and the stablest speeds were at 3400mt/s which is very bad + its only single channel, i tried setting timings manually to jedec, i tried disabling and enabling a bunch of things in bios but nothing(i didnt touch voltages since i dont want to break the ram or adapter), at least it runs at low cas latency cl28 (as you can see on second image) but the bandwith is very low i will face a lot of problems probably in games, anyways i put some benchmarks on the third image+ so you see they are not terrible but lower than the average, next thing i will try is looking for a pc seller if he would want to trade my 16gb micron with a 16 sk hynix or even better with an 8x2, anyone with tips i would be glad to hear them.

for now Ill use this for a while and id consider it a win since i dint pay for the ram anyways, only the 15usd adapter.

another misshap for me this year (tbh i expected this wont go smoothly), guess we will wait for a couple more years or for someone with stronger voodoo but greater willpower to solve this😔
glad to be back in the pcmasterrace.

Upgrade to 5800X3D or save up for AM5

So I have a 9070XT and a 5700X and im getting cpu bottlenecked in a few games.

1.Would the 5800X3D last till AM6? (2030)

Is it a good idea to skip AM5 at this point?

  1. Or Do I upgrade to AM5 now?

I just dont know because AM6 could come around 2030 but prices might be really bad.. and there are also early new gen bugs and problems

Built PC for my Friend so we can play together

Me and my friend wanted to game together but he hadn’t money. So I built a pc out of garbage. I know it isn’t the best PC ,but for us it is enough!
The components:
Intel i5 4460
GTX 745
16gb DDR3

It runs Zorin OS and works perfectly with Steam.
