Best auto peel printer for 1x0.5 labels

Currently using LP2844 as it was cheap and needed to test proof of concept on a product I’m working on. Now that I’m confident it suits my needs, the main issue I’m facing is labels keep getting caught on the printer lip (and sometimes on the peel bar). Do newer models still have this problem with small labels? If not, what would be the best option?

Zd421 thermal vs ribbon

I have both versions of the zd421. And the quality is insanely different. Any ideas of what to tweak so the thermal printer is as clear as the ribbon printer?

Zp505 scaling trouble linux

Hi,

So I'm using an linux server and trying to set up a zp505. I can get the device to talk to the printer, but the scaling is off for web pages, ups labels print horizontal on portrait, FedEx labels print blank. Using cups for installation.

Settings are 4x6 borderless, 300 dpi, epl 2 driver default print speed and darkness. Scale has been for to page or 100, has not worked for either.

I've tried a zpl driver but all the labels were blank. Same with epl1 drivers.

Any ideas?

My ZD420C is transferring resin from cartridge onto trailing edge of labels when fed through, with or without printing. Any way to fix this?

Free, Offline Ready Web Tool for Exact Dimension Barcode/QR Generation & Native ZPL Export (203/300/600 DPI)

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a free browser-based tool I've been developing that might be useful for anyone managing inventory, shipping labels, or hardware setups: generatorbarcode.com

It is a privacy first, client side Progressive Web App (PWA) designed to generate industry standard barcodes and QR codes with a heavy focus on exact physical sizing and industrial printer support.

Key Technical Features for Zebra Users:

  • Native ZPL Output: Generates direct ZPL code optimized specifically for 203 DPI, 300 DPI, and 600 DPI printhead configurations.
  • Exact Physical Sizing: Input label width and height in exact millimeters or inches to perfectly match standard thermal label rolls.
  • Local CSV Bulk Processing: Upload a CSV file to batch generate hundreds of unique labels instantly. Since the app runs entirely client side, your data never leaves your browser/local machine.
  • 100% Offline Support: Once loaded, it works entirely offline as a PWA, making it reliable for warehouse environments with spotty connectivity.
  • Print Ready Formats: Along with ZPL, it exports crisp, print ready PDFs and high res PNGs with zero watermarks or signup walls.

Supported Symbologies: QR Code, Data Matrix, Code 128, EAN-13, UPC-A, and more.

The tool is completely free, ad free, and requires no registration. I’m looking to improve it based on real world usage, so if you handle Zebra printers daily, I’d highly appreciate your feedback on the ZPL output and layout precision.

Let me know if there are specific features or label layouts you’d like to see supported. Thanks!

Issue is Zebra ZD622

I have in the settings it set to direct and have been fighting with this thing for two days and got nowhere. Any idea why it's white? I've clean the printhead as well.

Darkness Changes

Posting this to see if I get any response. We have several Zebra printers at work that I've written custom software to operate. The software controls the settings via ZPL, but I've had some issues specifically with darkness settings and even moreso over larger print jobs.

I control the printer settings with my ZPL jobs directly, so I know it has nothing to do with people messing with those. I've noticed that the ideal darkness drifts over time. My assumption is that this is due to different lots of ink ribbon or something. But I notice changes specifically for large print jobs, and primarily in the center of the label/barcode. We tried using technically wrong Direct Thermal settings for a long time, and the darkness is fine at the beginning but gets to light after maybe 15-20 labels back to back, and specifically in the center of the label. With thermal transfer, I get the opposite problem. Darkness will be fine at the beginning of the job, but several labels in the center of the barcodes can get too dark to even scan properly.

Not sure what other settings I can mess with. I've adjusted the darkness settings several times to try and work around this, but I don't even really know what the problem is. I don't mind modifying the software to add ZPL for more settings if it would help, but I'm not at all sure why the problem is occurring in the first place.

Anybody have any insight here?

Zlp2824 faded print help, might be stupid here

Been toying with this damn machine forever now and need help. Since it’s discontinued zebra support cant help, new second hand printer that has faded print and driver set to 10 at the moment. In the manual says to press and hold for 6 flashes but the feed button will only feed, no green flashes nothing. Am I stupid? Hate thermal printers lol. Printhead has been cleaned, in working order only need to change heat settings but unable to.
