Umm wtf? Can someone offer some insight?

I initially made a purchase on Umart for a new monitor for $1160.49.

I made an initial repayment amount of $290.00.

I then cancelled order with merchant and they issued refund because I decided to go with a different product from somewhere else.

Now Zip balance has been restored but instead of being $1500 it is $1790.

This reflects my initial repayment of $290 being tacked on top.

I don't want that money on my zip account, I obviously want it refunded. I tried to "chat" with someone but just got the worthless AI bot, which I used to escalate for an email back from someone.

Have others experienced this? Is it a simple enough thing to get done?

I'm a little concerned because the app basically shows no option or acknowledgement that my account is now overpaid, it just acts like I now have $1790 available "credit."

edit: thanks for replies.

I just found the s on Zips website:

"When the refund is applied to you Zip account it will help reduce any owing balance; or, if you have no owing balance at the time, the refund will place your Zip account in credit. If this occurs, you're welcome to leave the additional funds in the account as a credit to use for your next purchase, or you can contact us for a refund to your nominated bank account."

Absolute BS lol. I never use Zip because I much prefer Afterpay or PayPal, but this solidifies my decision to outright delete the app and shut down my account after this affair is settled.

LATEFEE

SO I FOUND THIS TO BE ABNORMAL: ZIP CHARGES A $7 late charge on the day your bill is due reason beundeing they could not get the payment which i understand, but this day in time people keep their cards locked so no one gets up at 3 am to make sure their cards are unlocked for Zip, also Zip uses that for thier advantage and as has charging me and others a $7 dollar late fee when we manually pay on the day of our bill due date, but not when Zip is able to automatically draft the payment. So because Zip could not get the payment when they wanted, that doesnt make it late; what makes it late is when it's not paid at all on the due date. So how does Zip fix that for all the years they have been charging us 7 dollar late fees on our due dates? Do they secretly change the laws and say nothing? Or do they reimburse us?

Has anyone else had this issue with Zip?

So for the last two weeks I have been contacting Zip because randomly I could not make any purchases online or with my physical Zip Card. I have been using Zip for years and never had this issue. I called and they told me that my account had a security lock on it but they could not disclose why but said it was nothing on my end. The customer service rep then had Zip send me an email asking all these questions that resembled fraud like questions, but I did not tell them I had any fraud happening on my account. I emailed them and got no response for about a week, so I give them a call again and its the same issue but this time the rep tries to unlock my account from their end and sees that it is a issue coming from above them and I get sent the same email as before. I send another email and of course no response. A few days go by and I randomly have access again so I think that everything is fixed. I used the app with no issue and purchase a lunch. Then today I receive an email saying that I no longer have access to the app because my account does not meet their approval guidelines. I still can make my payments to the stuff I used though which is insane. So of course I call again and get in touch with another rep and after a whole back and fourth she tells me that it shows on her end that one of the reasons says "Bad IP" but she doesn't know what that means and their system does a check automatically for approval so there is nothing they can do to fix that. I have about $500 in spending power, no late payments, and have had an account with them for a few years and have never once ran into this issue and I don't know what to do. I told her to send me to a supervisor but of course they only respond via email but now I am just out of luck and I do not like Klarna at all and have only used after pay like once.

Zip Virtual Card Question

Hi, guys!

How exactly does using Zip through ApplePay work? Can I load $200 to the virtual card and make multiple purchases?
Or is it a one-time use and I’ll have to reload it after every transaction?

Zip at airport

Has anyone used zip at the airport counter for paying for luggage? Long story short we are about to head out on vacation and our dog ended up needing an ER visit and that took a couple grand out of our bank account. I’ve pulled some extra hours to make up for most of it but wondering if I could use my zip card for about $600 in luggage fees at the counter and put a little extra cash in our pocket for the trip. TIA

Will I be able to use zip again?

This is a bit embarrassing but in the beginning of the year I was struggling financially and wasn’t able to make payments on my zip account. I got an email saying how I was at risk of being sent to collections; so I had reached out to someone and had ask them if there is a way possible I can be able to do the payments at my own time without being sent to collections. They said yes and froze my account and told me to just contact them again so I can unlock my account with them once I have done the payments. I contacted them in January about this but now I’m kinda worried since it has been a while ….if I’ll be able to use them again…. I finally have the money now to pay them back what I owe them but I just wanna know if I’ll be able to use their service again?

Weird messages

Every time I make a purchase on zip I get the usual "successful purchase" text and email almost instantly. After that, I get spammed with texts and emails that my purchase didn't go through and to authorize funds, but the merchant name is something I dont recognize. It also changes the merchant name for every message and lately it says that the merchant isnt supported. It used to only happen for a couple of hours, but this time its been days.

Has anyone else had this happen?
