Tried to find a budget option for FPS gaming and found a really good deal on an XL2540X+ (no dyac i know…). I see a lot of monitors on this sub with white lines, dead pixels, whiteout screens etc. How common are these issues? Am I at a risk for these issues when buying used? How do I check the monitor to avoid these problems?
With the announcement of their new XQ lineup, and future 750hz+ 1080p coming next year? I am pondering upgrading, my main game is cs2 but I play decent bit of apex as well at about a 75/25 split, I have tried a OLED 360hz from a friend and while it looks amazing for everything else my old monitor is still noticeably better for cs2 and also the ghosting in kovaaks were pretty poor.
Pros for XQ:
Apex will look a lot better
Everything else will also look better but not nearly as good as OLED
Dyac3 sooner
Cons:
Lower frames in general, and cs2 will look worse in 1080p so likely will play native res.
Slightly higher end to end latency of about 1.5ms
Pros for future 1080p one:
750hz+
1080p in cs2 will look better
higher frames overall
lower latency
Cons:
Everything but cs2 will look worse
Have to wait until start of 2027
Had my mouse since December 2023
Haven't had a single problem with it until now.
Every 30 minutes or so, it freezes for 2 seconds.
Nothing changed, it just started out of nowhere.
Using the enhanced receiver, plugged into my Corsair Strafe keyboard.
Today, ZOWIE is releasing the new XQ Series monitor, designed specifically for Battle Royale games.
Unlike traditional 5v5 FPS games, Battle Royale requires players to identify distant targets across larger environments while still maintaining motion clarity during fast, close-range combat.
To address this, the XQ Series combines 2K resolution with ZOWIE’s DyAc 3 technology. 2K resolution helps with long-distance target identification, while DyAc 3 helps reduce motion blur and maintain target clarity during fast movement and multi-angle engagements. With the Fast TN panel and Direct Backlight design, DyAc 3 is further optimized for the motion clarity required in Battle Royale gameplay.
The Color Filter also helps reduce visual interference caused by zone effects, making it easier for players to focus on targets around the edge of the zone.

As you can see I’ve masterly crafted a mouse bungee out of high grade materials due to the wireless function of my wireless ec2-dw failing to work 🔥
Hi everyone,
I’m having a strange issue with my ZOWIE XL2566K (purchased in March 2024).
About 3 days ago I suddenly noticed white vertical lines / a white band on the left side of the screen while playing CS2. The monitor has never been dropped or damaged and has always been on my desk.
Here’s what I’ve tested:
RTX 4080
Tried a different DisplayPort cable
Tried a different DisplayPort port on my GPU
At 360Hz the white lines are very noticeable.
At 240Hz they are still visible, but much less noticeable.
Text also seems slightly less sharp than before.
I unplugged the DisplayPort cable completely so the monitor showed “No Signal”, and I could still see the white lines.
Has anyone experienced this before with the XL2566K? Does this sound like a panel/TCON issue, or could it be something else?
I’ve already contacted BenQ for warranty, but I’d like to know if anyone has had the same issue.
Thanks!
Asking for every cs2 and valorant player.
like srsly i have a 7800x3d cpu and get around 450 fps with the resolution im playing on (cs2), even if i upgraded to a 9850x3d i would not be able to get to 600 fps so i can run the newest zowie model. at this point its just marketing

Is getting the zowie 540 hz xl2586 at 530 usd worth it? The new monitors were announced today so it might be a clearance sale. Is this a good price for this monitor? I have seen a lot of issues people have reported in this sub for lines, dots, etc. I have a 360 hz oled but would like to get this for the increased motion clarity
Hello, I wanted to share my review of the Zowie FK2-DW Glossy Edition, a wireless special edition of the FK2—one of Zowie’s most well-known models. I’ll try to make this review as detailed as possible, and if I don’t get lazy, I plan to keep doing more reviews like this.
I bought this mouse second-hand for 100 dollars, and it’s in flawless condition.
The mouse comes in two color options: black and glossy white. The FK3-DW hasn’t been released yet, while the FK1 is available in white in some stores outside Turkey.
My FK2 model has been available in Turkey for a long time, officially priced at 6,699 TL (145 dollar) on Sinerji.gen.tr. Unfortunately, the Glossy Edition was a limited release, and it’s no longer available in any Turkish stores. Once Sinerji ran out of stock, it hasn’t been restocked.
What really sets the Glossy version apart isn’t just the color, but its noticeably better coating compared to the standard black model.
Inside the box, you get the Zowie FK2-DW, a Zowie charging cable, a dongle with a Type-C port that supports 1K Hz polling, a charging stand that also works as a 4K Hz receiver, two sets of skates (one white, one black), and a quick guide with button combinations.
The included cable feels high quality. While it’s not braided—which some may see as a downside—it actually works well on heavily textured mousepads (especially speed surfaces), since it doesn’t get caught during fast movements.
Zowie’s skates are already well regarded, and they even include both their newer white skates and the older black ones.
The charging stand is a real game changer, especially for high polling rate users. Honestly, more brands should adopt this kind of solution.
They also added a Type-C port on the 1K dongle to extend the connection and reduce interference, which is a nice attention to detail.
Overall, the extra accessories make the packaging feel very complete.
Zowie is well known for excellent build quality and strict QC, and this mouse is no exception. It’s very rare to come across a Zowie mouse with build issues.
When I apply pressure to the corners or top shell, there’s absolutely no flex. Aside from a very slight button wobble (which is normal), everything feels solid.
The build quality is consistent across the entire mouse—no weak spots or uneven areas. Weight distribution also feels balanced, with no noticeable heaviness in any specific section.
The only thing I noticed is a very faint sound when pressing the bottom area of the mouse, even though there’s no actual flex or structural issue. This might just be specific to my unit.
This is the section Zowie calls “Sports Science.”
The FK2-DW has a low-profile shape. It works well for small hands with a palm grip, while medium and large hands will likely prefer claw or fingertip grip. Zowie itself mainly recommends claw and fingertip for this model.
The idea behind the shape is to allow precise micro-adjustments with minimal effort.
Each Zowie model is also designed with specific game genres in mind. For example, the S2 is often associated with Apex-style games, while the FK series is more geared toward CS2 and Valorant.
This is easily the best coating I’ve used on any mouse so far.
If your hands sweat a lot, it can become slightly slippery, but keeping a damp microfiber cloth nearby solves that instantly.
The main switches are Huano Blue Shell Pink Dot Transparent. They feel crisp, durable, and widely trusted in the community. In my opinion, they feel better than most optical switches. The risk of double-clicking is very low.
The MCU is the Nordic nRF52833. It’s an older chip, and while it was decent for its time, it’s now considered outdated compared to newer solutions like the nRF52840. This results in slightly higher latency—only a few milliseconds, but still behind modern competitors. Zowie has released software updates to reduce this as much as possible.
Interestingly, the same MCU can also be found in some other mice, even in much cheaper models. Regardless, Zowie’s implementation and overall build quality are clearly on a different level.
The sensor is the PixArt 3950, which is widely used across the industry and often rebranded by different companies. I’ve also heard that a 3955 sensor may be coming soon.
Unlike many brands, Zowie uses an optical switch for the scroll wheel click, which avoids the common scroll-click failure issues seen in brands like SteelSeries and older Razer models.
Battery life is rated at around 80 hours at 1K Hz, 40 hours at 2K, and 24 hours at 4K.
This limitation mainly comes from the older MCU. However, in practice, it’s not a big issue thanks to the charging stand—you can just place it on the dock whenever you step away from your desk.
There’s no software support for the mouse. All settings are adjusted using button combinations.
Some people prefer this, others don’t.
Personally, I see it as a downside—I’m not a fan of memorizing key combinations. However, Zowie’s goal here is long-term usability, ensuring the mouse won’t rely on software that may become outdated or unsupported in the future.
Pros:
➕ Excellent build quality and QC
➕ Great main switches
➕ Charging stand makes battery life a non-issue
➕ Solid box contents
➕ Excellent shape
➕ Multiple size options
➕ No software dependency
➕ The best coating i have ever seen
Cons:
➖ 24-hour battery life at 4K Hz
➖ Outdated MCU
➖ No software customization
➖ Skate design makes installation slightly awkward
➖ Hard to clean due to multiple openings where dirt can accumulate
Hello, I am currently using the Zowie FK2-DW Glossy Edition. I previously used a mouse that is a clone of the Zowie S2, and its shape was extremely comfortable for my hand and grip style. As a FK2-DW Glossy Edition user, I really need the S2-DW Glossy Edition version.
I live in Turkey, and websites like MaxGaming are currently not an option for me due to customs issues... There used to be local stores available but all options are now sold out, and it is also very difficult to find one second-hand
I will be traveling to Austria in about a month, but I will only be staying for 3 days. I will also be staying in a rented apartment, so ordering in advance feels risky, and I really do not want to take that risk.
Do you know any local stores that sell this mouse, or any local places where I could find it second-hand?
