r/affirmations

You cannot repair a relationship with a person who believes the problem is always your reaction .

I don’t have to become somebody else to feel okay with who I am.

Some nights I sit and think about where I thought I would be by now.

I think about my kids, work, the things I’m still trying to figure out, and the parts of my life that turned out different than I expected. That is usually when I start questioning myself.

Sometimes I wonder if I should be doing better or be further along by now. I’m working on things. I’m growing. I still get in my own head sometimes.

But I’m learning that I don’t have to have everything figured out to be okay with who I am right now.

My affirmation tonight:

I can keep growing and still give myself credit for where I am.

I don’t have to be further along to be okay with myself today.

I can move through the day with courage without pretending I’m not nervous.

I don’t always feel fearless.

Sometimes I second-guess myself. Sometimes I think too much about what I should say, how I should handle something, or whether I’m making the right call.

But I’ve learned I don’t have to wait until I feel completely sure of myself.

I can still speak clearly.
I can still make a decision.
I can still take the next step.

My affirmation today:

I can be nervous and still move forward.

Courage doesn’t always look loud.

Sometimes it just looks like me not backing away from myself.
