Does GTU provide any up-down/bus facility for students coming from Kalol?

I'm from Kalol and I'll be commuting to the GTU Chandkheda campus regularly.
I wanted to ask if GTU provides any official bus or transport facility for students travelling from Kalol. If not, how are most students managing the daily commute? Is there any student bus, carpool, WhatsApp group, or common route that people use?
If there are enough students travelling from Kalol every day, maybe GTU could consider starting a transport service in the future. I think it would help a lot of students save time, money, and the hassle of changing buses.
If you're from Kalol (or know someone who is), please comment with your experience. Even if there's no official facility, I'd love to know the best way people are managing the daily up-down.
Thanks!
Is it normal for a guy to not want to talk to me because I spoke to his friend 3 years ago?
Hi guys,
I’m in my early 20s, never dated or hooked up with anyone (saying this to make sure yall know I did nothing with the guys friend)
I recently started talking to a guy, he approached me, he’s the one who showered interest, he initiated all conversations and was even planning our meetup.
Then he ignores me for a day and comes back to tell me that his friend told him he knew me and spoke for a while. I was like yes we used to text each other in college but we never met, we eventually stopped talking and it’s been 3 years since we spoke.
Long story short, he proceeded to tell me it’ll get too complicated in the future, they’re in the same friend group and he apologized for doing this to me. I said fine and removed him.
Is this normal? I never met his friend or did anything with him.

My big toe is straight up destroying all my socks. Help a guy out (Under 600rs)
Man I am going crazy over here. It does not matter if I buy cheap packs or drop cash on Nike, my big toe just busts right through the front of them every single time
And before anyone asks, my shoes fit perfectly and my toenails are clipped short and smooth. It is definitely just the socks being super flimsy up front. I need something thick and tough that can actually take a beating without ripping
I am in India so I need stuff I can easily order online or just grab at a local shop. Trying to keep it under 600rs
What are you guys wearing that actually survives? Hit me with your favorites because I am sick of throwing my money in the trash.
TL;DR: Big toe keeps poking holes in all my socks. Need super tough sock recommendations available in India for under 600rs

How Can I Tell difference between MR & BWR?
It’s been almost a week since I moved to Ahmedabad, so here’s my completely unnecessary review. 😭
The best thing I’ve had so far is Lijjat’s breakfast. Almost everything I tried there was amazing. I also tried that super famous pizza place right next to it and… please don’t hate me, but I genuinely felt disgusted after eating it. 😭 I seriously don’t understand the hype.
Tried vada pav too, and I swear Ahmedabad has the worst vada pav I’ve ever had (please recommend better places because this can’t be it). Dosa was average. Gujarati/local food has actually been really good though.
And I have to give credit where it’s due I tried Jalaram’s fafda-jalebi and dabeli… BROOOO. 😭 What a deadly combo. Never thought fafda-jalebi would taste* *that good. As someone who practically grew up on poha-jalebi, I never imagined my transition from **poha-jalebi to fafda-**jalebi would be this smooth. 😂
Now about the city I absolutely LOVE the Riverfront. Probably my favorite place so far. I also appreciate that nobody has forced me to learn Gujarati. Everyone’s been comfortable speaking Hindi, which honestly made settling in much easier.
But… the traffic? Absolutely horrible. 😭
Finding a flat deserves its own chapter. It genuinely felt harder than cracking NEET. Brokers, restrictions, random rules… it was exhausting. Finally found one though, but now I have to travel around 6 km to my office every day. Adulting is not fun.
One thing that genuinely surprised me was the staring. Maybe it’s just the areas I’ve been in, but one day I wore a sleeveless crop top and I genuinely felt like I’d committed a crime. 😭 People kept staring so much that I got uncomfortable. It was honestly a culture shock because I’d always heard Gujaratis were pretty chill. Maybe I just had a weird experience, but is this normal here or was I just unlucky?
Overall, it’s been a proper rollercoaster of a first week. I’m still figuring the city out, and despite my complaints, I’m actually starting to like it.
Now tell me…
How’s the dating scene here? 😭
What do you guys usually do after office?
I have a few free hours every evening, so where do people actually hang out? Cafés, reading clubs, activities, hidden gems… anything?
Would love some recommendations from fellow Ahmedabad people. 🫡
Edit:- also thank you guys so much! 😭❤️
My last post somehow blew up to 185k views, and I genuinely didn’t expect that. So many of you helped me with suggestions and advice. I couldn’t reply because the last week was a complete mess I was busy moving, flat hunting, and settling into Ahmedabad.
Foreboder of Rain
I’ve spent years trying to paint the conversation between earth and sky with my camera.
Yesterday , I watched it happen.
A peacock danced.
The clouds responded.
And rain completed the sentence in the evening.
Got almost run over near Law Garden today, and the driver just smiled and drove off.
(orange: car ahead of me | pink : me | yellow: the way she drove and almost killed me)
Came out on Sunday evening to roam around the city near Law Garden.
I was riding normally, and there was already another vehicle ahead of me heading towards the circle. Suddenly, an EV coming from the opposite direction took an insanely sharp turn right across my path. I hit my brakes immediately, but they just kept coming, apparently trying to cut the corner and save a few seconds.
The part that still bothers me isn't even the near-accident.
It's the fact that both girls inside the car were smiling afterwards.
Not shocked. Not apologetic. Not concerned that they had nearly caused a serious accident. Just smiling.
A few bystanders saw the whole thing happen too.
What happened next made it even worse. The moment they realized I might stop and confront them, they rushed straight into Le Jardin(their home?). I literally saw them hurrying toward the gate while the security guard opened it. Before I could even get off my vehicle, process what had just happened, or catch my breath, they had disappeared inside.
No apology. No checking if I was okay. Nothing.
So, to the girl from Le Jardin who nearly caused an accident near Law Garden today:
I genuinely hope you understand how serious that situation was. Someone could have been badly injured. Driving isn't a game, and roads aren't a place to show off or take reckless turns. Never get behind the steering wheels 🙏
Hidden gem for book lovers near Kaffa Cafe, IIM Road, Ahmedabad.
I was near Kaffa Cafe on IIM Road today and came across an elderly woman selling books on the roadside. She doesn't have a shop or even a proper stall—just stacks of books laid out neatly.
What surprised me was the collection. These weren't pirated copies tho. There were genuinely good books, and they were all priced very reasonably.
I ended up spending quite a bit of time browsing, and she was very polite and patient throughout. Recommended me good books and all. It felt like one of those rare finds you don't expect.
If you're someone who enjoys reading and happen to be in that area, you should definitely go and check her stall out. It would help her a lot, and I swear she looked so innocent adn gullible selling those books.
I'd definitely recommend stopping by and checking out her collection. You might find your next favorite book, and at the same time, you'll be supporting someone who genuinely deserves it.
Small purchases can make a big difference.
Her stall is just outside the Kaffa cafe, on the boundary of IIM.
