How do I get started on learning Akali?

So after getting tired of having 3 losing lanes playing Jungle, I decided to play mid for a while due to Locke's release and I'm having so much impact and winning a lot more games. I play mostly control mages in Syndra, Hwei, Ori with Locke of course and pocket picks of Gwen and Galio.

I think I'm doing well mechanically having played a lot of Gwen and Kindred and I don't mind spending some time in practice tool to learn combos, but my question is more about Akali fundamentals as I don't know where to start.

What should I expect out of laning phase? Should I get kills, or try to go even? Am I a lane bully like Ori or do I get bullied like Katarina? Is my main source of income roam kills or is it better to focus on CSing well? Do I scale well with gold so that it's worth trading HP for CS or I'd rather just get xp?

What counters Akali in teamfights and how should I play those? Do I play for picks and sidelane in midgame or group with my team? This is what I struggle most with as I notice that even when I go in late, everyone turns on me and I pop, or my team already lost the fight before I get the chance to flank/engage and they turn around and I'm left alone without realizing. I also have trouble assassinating fed ADCs which I thought is my job, especially if they're giga ahead or have peel.

What teamcomps should I avoid picking Akali into/with? Can I blind her? Supports/Junglers she's really good with? Would I have an easier time learning her top?

Finally, is there any content creator/video guide I could watch to get started on my journey?

I appreciate any help on this!

Akali KDA ALL-OUT Baddest chroma back in shop 7/2/26

It'll be there for 6 days and change.

Still no Ahri or Kai'sa Baddest, lol. Kali and Eve again and again.

Kali Baddest looks goood, despite the shorts (same w/Kai'sa ALL-OUT Prestige wearing shorts. Not sure why they go there). Ofc the base KDA AO for her is S-tier, already.

Situational Building

Hi all,

Newbie Akali player here (bronze and climbing, M6). Every game I do sorcs > gunblade > shadowflame, then hourglass, raba, void in no particular order. I also exclusively take Electrocute

Is there a matchup I should be building something else? I know there’s a more bruiser Conq build but when would I build that? Is there ever a time where I do dark seal?

(Bronze I - Silver IV) I've got lots of fun playing Akali, but it is very hard for me to look for the right opportunities to roam… tf should I do? Which signals am I missing? Should I even try to roam?

I've asked for help here a few months ago since my damage was so low for a midlaner assassin. I started to play more agressively, even when I'm feeling dominated. My damage is still pretty low I think (I’ll leave my op gg in the comments in case anyone wanna take a look), but I feel like my laning phase has improved.

However, I struggle hard with tempo. Sometimes I roam a lot to help my jg or my botlane, to get objectives, but my farm starts to fall so hard next time I go back to my lane the 0-3 midlaner just become strong because I left him quietly farming. It sucks, but if I don't roam sometimes my team cannot make any objective. That's a shame, since I feel like being the best laner in lots of my games and when I start to screw up I cannot rely on my teammates:( Anyways, I don't flame them because I also suck sometimes lol.

League classic is coming. What were your favorite old Akali builds/ 2 item cores?

We need to be ready when it comes out.

I know personally I cant wait for all the tankali shenanigans. Some ad akali with a bit of tank was the best.

I really miss the times when R1 was free cast :((

Out of all the things they removed from her kit, the original ult is the thing I miss the most. It was so easy to run away from ganks, you could engage on some from 50 meters away.

I know it was broken and I understand why it got changed, but still I miss it a lot :(

anyone else?

Execute indicator

Do you think Akali should have an execute indicator like literally EVERY other champ in the game whose Ult can execute?

I feel like it'd be a really nice QOL buff

Cause I do feel like somewhat often I'll R2 on a low hp bar thinking I'll kill and they live by a fraction of a hair.

Most times you can just Q again but in some instances you're trying to escape a collapsing enemy team while taking one with you, and you don't.

And if I were to be a bit excessive with my demand, I'd ask that Akali in R2 be unstoppable too

This one seems A LOT more unrealistic to be done, but at the same time I've had my fair share of raging using my strongest ability and being curbed to a halt by any more of displacement or stun CC

Idk, just a thought 🤔 what do you think?

This game was ff-ed (4-1) at 16:01

Was destroying Vladimir in lane, , 2 minutes after I killed Tahm Kench, then I died by getting flashed on by Diana Leona Tahm, and this ff vote immediately comes in. I'm pretty angry. I'm Level 12, higher than everyone else except Tahm who Yone was running it to. We're weren't even behind.

Thoughts on going for a bruiser build sometimes?

I was wondering if its sometimes good to do a bruiser build? Not exactly sure what the build would be, but something like riftmaker, liandris, conqueor, etc.
