Redmi Pad Pro or Redmi Pad 2 Pro?

Hello, I would like to ask for your input. I'm an engineering uni student, and my main use for a tablet would be to take down notes digitally, practice and work on equations, work on group papers/reports, and access PDFs and other files for school. I do have a laptop, but it's very heavy and a pain to bring to school daily. Split screen/floating windows and stylus support with palm rejection are very important features in a tablet for me. I, however, am on a tight budget, which led me to decide on Redmi.

There are other options, such as their flagship brand Xiaomi, but no microSD slot was a big deal breaker for me; I really value storage space, especially with the work I have to do and the files I need to download. Huawei was another option, but my mom disapproved, and my school is very reliant on Google services, so no dice. Lenovo was also something I considered, but there aren't any physical stores selling Lenovo tablets in my city, and I want a tablet with good software support and security updates.

I'm very conflicted on getting either a Pad Pro or the new Pad 2 Pro. I've seen reviews say that there isn't a very big difference aside from the size and battery. To be honest, I'm just worried about software support and updates since I plan to use the tablet even after college. A friend told me that it doesn't really matter anyway since both tabs will eventually stop getting supported, but I'm still really conflicted.

There's also the worry of the additional cost of the accessories: the case and official pen. I currently have 210 USD in savings, so I'm still very unsure. Should I just buy the Pad Pro and splurge on the accessories, or save up for the Pad 2 Pro and buy the accessories later on instead?

Please share how it looks while using apps like TikTok, insta, YouTube, Netflix and pirate movie websites.

I'm really looking for a tablet and dunno if it's going to fit well and I'm really uncomfortable with the huge black bars.

Does a super cheap android tablet exist that can play amazon prime video?

I'm looking for something SUPER basic... something that can play Amazon Prime Video (side loading apk's like newpipe would be nice but not a deal breaker). Even if it can only play amazon prime video in the browser (wide devine etc).. that works for me!

I'm looking at Amazon/Ebays unbranded chinese offerings and it's just too confusing between the branding/rebranding. Don't need a work horse at all, just want something about 10" that can play prime video and maybe browse once in a while. That's it.

Has anyone successfully used one of these disgustingly cheap tablets with good results? I'm not fussed about the best resolution etc, 480p is fine for me. Pretty sure some of you grand old wizards have been here before, any helpful advice would be truly appreciated!

Thank you, for your recommendations! It's amazing!

Thank you all! For the advice I have seen on here! So got the Walmart On. Tablet 11 inch 2026 model. It has surpassed my expectations! Is a good little media streaming and web browsing device! I had my doubts but glad I listened to you all and just jumped. Being a Walmart employee got my discount on it as well so it plus the 30 keyboard case made it 196 out the door! No complaints at all!!

Pictures of box and settings about screen.

Honest Review of the Xiaomi Pad 7

I’ve been using the Xiaomi Pad 7 for a while and overall it’s been a really good experience.

The display is excellent — sharp, smooth, and great for watching content.

Portability is also very good; it’s lightweight and easy to carry around.

Battery backup is solid and easily gives me around 8 hours of usage.

Charging speed is impressive too, it gets fully charged in about 1 hour.

The speakers are decent, but they could definitely be better in terms of loudness and bass.

I haven’t tested gaming performance yet, so can’t comment on that part for now.

Overall, it feels like a great value-for-money tablet for media consumption and everyday use.

My sisters tablet from aliexpress

Is there any way I can fix this? This is the second time it's done this. The last time a factory reset fixed it, but she has games on this she doesn't want to start over. It has android 16.0 if it helps.

Comparison of Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 13 vs Xiaomi Pad 8 | Both Snapdragon 8s Gen 4

As the title says: Comparison of Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 13 vs Xiaomi Pad 8 which both have Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.

Can't find any viable comparison yet. Has anyone tried the newer lenovo tablets and is able to compare with the xiaomi offerings?

Matte screen tablets for academic (textbooks, papers) and productivity purposes: Huawei Matepad pro 12.2, Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro Matte edition, or something else?

Hello! I'm hoping to get some advice from experienced users here! I'm looking for a bigger screen tablet to read textbooks and academic papers easily with as little eye strain as possible. I know e-ink tablets are an option and I already have a ViWoods tablet, but 1) I need colour and 2) colour e-ink tablets are inferior in terms of display and generally slow and horrible for typing or web-based productivity while costing as much as, if not more than, an average Android tablet.

Apart from reading PDFs and epubs, I also hope to use to use the tablet for typing documents, emails, and coding (online). Smooth handwriting/scribbling with a stylus is a plus.

I've been thinking of the Huawei Mated pro 12.2 (2025) because of reviews on how nice its screen is, but online reviews and comments of how hard it is to use because of software issues are making me hesitate. The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro (Matte) seems to be another good option despite the smaller size. Oppo also has a matte tablet in the Oppo Pad 5, but I hear that its chip is wanting. I also thought of an older Samsung Galaxy Tab (such as S10+), but I'm not sure how straining its screen would be. My aging eyes cannot even stand looking into my MacBook Pro (M1) screen for more than two hours before pain sets in.

If anyone else has the same use case as me and has come across a tablet that fits your needs, please let me know about your experiences. Thank you so much in advance!

Onn tablet play protect certification

I got an onn 7" 2026 tablet and it shows the play protect certification is uncertified. I tried to fix it several different ways.

Did the fix issue

Clear cache and data in Google services

Clear cache and data with Google store.

Made sure android and play store are up to date.

Did a restart with each thing.

I'm about to factory reset it but why is it uncertified?

Any idea how to fix it?

Got told to get a Samsung S series but I have a budget

I was comparing the tablet I was originally looking at vs what I was showed to get and I just seriously don't know specs but the onn seems better to me? I'm only needing to run 3 apps on it. I make videos and draw ALOT so the more space the better but I have a $200 dollar limit rn. The Samsung comes with a stylus the onn I can buy one for and still be in budget. Which one of these do y'all think is better.

(One game, one drawing app, one video app is all I'm putting on it)

Great duo!

Tab S9, Tab Active 3

Both have wired DeX output, great screens, good s-pen support, ecosystem connectivity

Tab Active 3 has Galaxy S9 flagship chip, Tab S9 has S23 Ultra flagship chip

I use Active 3 for reading, S9 for productivity. One or the other for content consumption depending on mood

Both great tablets!

Lenova tab kids tablet - storage issues

I was gifted a Lenova Tab for my child. (I’m an iPad person, so figuring this out when I’m used to iPhone/ipad is particularly frustrating)

It has kid mode or whatever you call it. It has 32 GB of storage, and 31 GB is used. 20 GB is system files!!! She had Minecraft on it, and we just deleted Minecraft because it was using so much space on it, and she can play Minecraft on the laptop instead.

I thought it would free it way more space than it did. Does anyone know how to free up more space? Without completely wiping all her saved games history/progress? Surely the tablet does not actually need 20 gb for system files?!! There’s got to be some way to reset that.

A link to a video or a post with step by step instructions would be fabulous.

edited to add pics of the tablet

Looking for a tablet for note taking and watching movies maybe a little gaming as well

I was looking for a budget tablet for note taking being the primary reason, and gaming being my 2nd priority and finally watching movies as my last priority.

My budget is 20-30k INR happier if I get a cheaper model as well.

I am looking to buy during the great Indian sale or even black friday sale.

What are a few things I should keep in mind before buying a tablet.

[Academic] Short Survey About Writing on Tablets & Stylus Usage (2–3 min)

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working on a university project about tablet and stylus ergonomics and I’m looking for people who regularly write or draw on tablets to participate in a short survey.

The survey takes about 2–3 minutes and is completely anonymous.

I’d really appreciate any participation or shares. Thanks! :)

Local Walmart has Onn on sale

Was perusing the local Walmart for cat food last night and walked by electronics. Had to look at tablets. They have last year's 12.1 Pro for like $135. Uses would be YT, VLC, light-ish gaming Raid Shadow, maybe some Pubg and CoD. I was also looking at the iPlay 70 mini pro. I know the Onn won't get updates unless I do it myself. Same case for the Alldocube. I have (well the wife stole it) an iPlay 50 mini pro running pixel OS so I know what I am getting into with those. The 70 mini pro is $181 off Walmart.com TIA
