(Unintended?) Animal Abuse by Burmese Neighbors

We have a Burmese family directly next to us. Which is awesomely cool and amazing - when they first moved in with their five kids, they cut down this huge, ancient magnolia tree that provided half of our own yard with shade. I nearly died of a heart attack - I was SO pissed.

Then they proceeded to plant an entire garden of food and herbs, siphoning water with a hose directly from the little creek out back. I was like, wow. That's what I get for being a judgmental d*ck 😅

The parents don't speak much English - mom, barely any at all. So their kids shout the f word and stuff (they are all fluent in english and attend public school) in front of adults while their parents are standing right there. Ok. Whatever. I was going to use google translate - not to embarrass or shame them, but just because if I was in that situation I'd want someone to tell me.

Then their cousins gave them a cat. It was forced to live out all winter. Then it got pregnant. My kids asked the neighbor kids if their cat had its babies yet. The kids said yes, but all the babies died because momma cat wouldn't care for them. I know it's because the five kids harass tf out of that poor animal so she was so stressed she couldn't parent. The very day that all her kittens died, the kids were pushing and pulling the freshly postpartum mama cat back and forth over their fence, picking her up by her hair/skin, etc 😭😭😭😭😭

I am now so stressed and traumatized I feel frozen. So sick to my stomach I want to throw up.

Wwyd?!?!!?

BACI update/will have to pause rescue/not enough funds sorry

I had to transfer Baci to a different caretaker as I prioritize his safety. I do not want to talk bad about anybody, so I am not sharing. Baci still has blood parasites but has major improvements and will still continue his antibiotics. He is so cute!! I am so happy too that I am working with the same pet transportation business (we call them ‘riders’). I asked the rider to take Baci to the vet first and he they are now on their way to the his new shelter. Unfortunately, breed discrimination exist in the Philippines, so majority of street dogs and cats stay in shelters and do not get adopted.. as they prefer dogs that are full breed.
* this is hard for me to say, but I may have to pause for a bit as We dont have enough to cover for anything at all. Again, I just started my non profit just this April but I have been doing this on my own since 2020 with only using my paycheque but I was on 6 weeks medical leave as I had my endometriosis taken out, but I did not stop helping. Some of the receipts are proof that we do provide and support.

If anyone would like to assist, thank you all.

Elijah’s second vet visit/New dog Kennel

Update on Elijah! Still has blood parasite so he still has to be isolated from other dogs at the shelter at Casa Dela Suerte in Cavite, Philippines. His mange (skin disease) has definitely gotten better! We got him a new kennel as he broke what the their old one. Elijah had an owner before but he was clearly neglected and was just tied outside the house. I am glad that we were able to sponsor his rescue and will continue to support him long-term. We covered again for his medical bills, transportation, food, and dog kennel. He has another vet appointment in two weeks. We have other dogs that we are sponsoring as well, so we would appreciate any support and prayers. Thank you all so much.

BACI❤️

I received a message about a dog in Bacoor, Cavite a month ago, suffering from a severe skin disease. I didn’t realize at first that he was still just a puppy. Because I grew up in Bacoor, this rescue felt especially close to my heart. I had also previously helped rescue and find a home for another dog from there.

Even while I was still recovering myself and unsure of how much everything would cost, I still said YES to rescuing him and covered for everything financially. I had faith that God would provide, and I truly believe money can always be made again, but a life cannot be replaced.

I am deeply grateful for the people in the Philippines whom I trust to help me do this kind of work. I see it as a blessing to be able to feel compassion this deeply, to feel others’ pain, and to give comfort where I can. For that, I thank the Lord always.

We can’t save every animal, but we’re trying our best. Donations help us continue.

Hello everyone,
I’ve been deeply passionate about helping dogs and cats in the Philippines for many years. Every single day, countless animals suffer from neglect, abuse, starvation, illness, and abandonment — especially stray animals who have no voice and no one to protect them.
In many areas, stray dogs and cats are taken to overcrowded animal pounds where conditions can be heartbreaking. Many are left terrified, hungry, dehydrated, and without proper medical care. While there are compassionate people trying to help, there is still a major lack of animal welfare support, education, and resources.
Since 2020 — long before officially registering our Canadian non-profit, Voiceless No More: Philippines Stray Animals Foundation — I have personally collaborated, supported, sponsored, and worked with rescuers, shelters, veterinary clinics, transporters, and foster families to help save animals in urgent need even remotely and even when timezone is different. Together, we have helped provide rescues, medical treatment, temporary shelter, rehabilitation, and safe homes for animals who otherwise may not have survived.
I am also proud to share that we have a confirmed partnership with Animal Kingdom Foundation for an upcoming outreach and animal welfare initiative planned for either June or July 2026. The exact dates are still being finalized due to payout withdrawal timelines through Zeffy and to ensure that funds are properly available before committing to a final schedule. I believe in being transparent with our supporters and will continue to provide updates as details are confirmed.
But we cannot do this alone.
Every donation — no matter how small — directly helps provide:
• Emergency rescue
• Veterinary treatment and medications
• Food and clean water
• Temporary shelter and transportation
• Spay/neuter efforts
• Rehabilitation and adoption support
Even $5 or $10 can help feed an animal, provide medicine, or give them another chance at life.
Our goal is not only to rescue animals, but also to create compassion, awareness, and long-term change for animal welfare in the Philippines.
If you would like to support our mission and help save lives, please consider donating or sharing our cause. Your kindness truly makes a difference.
Thank you for helping us give a voice to the voiceless. 🐾

Rescuing two dogs abandoned by owners - Laguna, Philippines. Lord, have mercy on them.

Hello all. We are currently talking now to rescue these two dogs in the Philippines (163 BONIFACIO STREET BIÑAN CITY LAGUNA). Currently, I can only offer to pay for transportation for them to get to the vet. This is why I kept asking for help because it would be nice to do MORE. We got lucky that the shelter said they can help with vet bills. As the ones that I usually sponsor and support are the ones that do not have support from others at all and have little to no funds.
I am asking for those who may have extra to spare to help our mission to keep operating. No funds from the donations benefit any of the members at all. My paycheque goes to this since 2020, and I am happy the Lord chose me for this mission.
But,

I CANNOT DO THIS ALONE.
But I know I will do everything I can. I will not give up. Do not worry.

Rescued!! Update ❤️

Today was my first time collaborating with @hanashelterph , and my second time working with Jane Francisco Aquino and Reynald Cordovilla on rescue initiatives in the Philippines.

This time, our non-profit, Voiceless No More: Philippines Stray Animals Foundation, was only able to sponsor the transportation of the rescued pets because we are currently supporting several other rescues with chronic medical conditions — including vet bills, pet food, medications, supplies, transportation, and ongoing care. On top of that, I was on medical leave for 6 weeks due to surgery, so my paycheques were not full during that time. I just came back to work this week, honestly.

Even so, I still wanted to do what I could. Every little bit matters, and I am truly grateful that these two dogs were rescued safely. 🤍
Please… if you are planning to leave your residence and know you may not be able to bring your pets with you, do everything you can to find them loving homes or responsible adopters. Do not abandon them like this. They are not disposable. They feel fear, hunger, loneliness, and heartbreak too.
Thank you to everyone who continues to help, rescue, foster, donate, and care. The animals need us more than ever.

This view alone is enough to challenge the flawed philosophy that claims joy comes only through indulgence and consumption. there is profound joy even in detached observation.

Update on Isabelle!!

Hello all. The shelter owner - Sallena Matta Espinosa, whom I have been collaborating with have shared an update on Isabelle. We got her recovery food, dry food, and goat’s milk. Again, we also covered her first vet appointment. Her other vet appointments were covered by other sponsors. I am thankful for the small shelters and solo rescuers like her because even though the Philippines government do not give them anything, they still continue to take in animals and find ways to help them. This is a big part of our mission is collaborating with them to make the rescue and rehabilitation successful. Without them, it will be impossible to make all of this happen. Please pray for them - shelter owners, rescuers, sponsors, pet transpo, animal advocates, etc who are committed to be the voice for the voiceless.

We are in constant communication with Sallena as we care about her and Isabelle. I care alot. I think you would understand what I mean when you truly are a fur lover.

Hello everyone. I am asking for your help for “ELIJAH”, the dog that I helped rescue in the Philippines. He is still needing continued veterinary support, food and supplies, especially for his skin (mange) and he is positive for blood parasite. Any amount, any would help alot. He is one of the newly rescued (May 1). I feel so overwhelmed, but I cannot give up. Please help us help him.
