I would love a docking/anchoring feature!

I saw someone making docks in their harbor and positioning their navy in it to make it look like they are docked. But such an actual docking feature would be great, similar to the encampment feature. This would reduce its upkeep, reduce its workforce and make it heal only flightly faster, so that the repair cranes still have a use.

Maybe even make it so you can dock or anchor. Where docking gives more benefits but requires space near a road/quay. But anchoring only required shallow waters.

Goods benefits from God Mercury

Description of the God Mercury:

"He was primarily the god of commerce, travel, boundaries, and eloquence"

Considering he's not only the God of Commerce, travel but also Eloquence.

Why are goods such as Jewelry, Wigs or even mirrors not part of his boost?

Does anyone else think this God is so debuffed without any good reason?

Can someone flag this to Ubisoft and those geniuses there?

I'm sure they know what the God Mercury stands for right?

Disappointed by the campaign

I had to find another thread under this sub before I even fully comprehended how the story I’d invested so much time into was stolen from me. I understand that I am beating the dead horse here. But the build up of the story and the vague and ominous warning that the allies I chose throughout the game would impact my relationships with Caldius and Juliana - it was all lies. I was so stoked to see the story all the way through and recommended the game to my friends under false pretenses.

I rescinded my recommendation and advised waiting a few years until they pump out all the DLCs and sell it all at a discount. Hopefully this catches someone else’s eye before they buy. What a fumble of an otherwise great game.

Beautification Approach

Hey all!

I've decided I'm going to finally do it. I'm going to make a pretty city. I have a very rough napkin sketch idea of how I want to structure it, but I have two (mostly opinion based?) questions I'm hoping to get some feedback on before I start.

  1. In your experience, do you find it easier/more enjoyable to disassemble the existing grid and redistribute all of the existing infrastructure _or_ start from scratch? (in which case do you prefer either nuking everything in the way on the existing island or starting a new savefile?)

  2. I think it'd be super cool if I could draft a more complete plan while away from the game and then implement the plan in game. Are there any tools or resources out there that can help facilitate this or would I need to just start with an empty grid and make it up as I go along?

Thanks in advance for your inputs!

How do I trigger the DLC for a guess account on PS5?

I bought the game and my kids are able to play it on their own profiles. However, after buying the DLC, it did show up on the Content screen when starting a new game but we are unsure how to actually activate it.

Is it just permanently activated if it shows up under Content?

How do we trigger the volcano?

There's a button we can press but we get what seems like a Ubisoft connect error.

Any support on this would be greatly appreciated.

Quest: “Aquila Soaring” – 4 ships (2x archer towers, 1x ship scorpion, 1x ship catapult) – Delivery bug at lighthouses

I’m stuck on the emperor’s ship demand. I built 4 proper military combat ships with the weapons distributed across the fleet (not civilian hulls — those can’t even equip combat modules — and not every weapon crammed onto every single ship because slot limits make that impossible). All ships are full health, properly equipped, grouped together.
Quest text says sail to Diana’s lighthouse. When I click the ships in the quest menu, the marker points to White Cliff lighthouse. I’ve tried both locations extensively:
• Hugging the lighthouse structures themselves
• Grouping ships and approaching from multiple angles
• Using the curvy “jump to” arrow in the quest log
• Multiple save/exit to menu/reloads
• Dismissing/reforming fleet
Result: No portrait ever appears. Zero interaction option. Can’t turn in the fleet despite meeting every parameter and attempting to turn in the ships at BOTH lighthouse’s.

Aqueduct Planning

Just learned that I can run aqueduct through farms without losing the farm tile! Helpful hack for new players like me!

I have been given an unsolvable task.

I’ve been given a task by the Emperor that is impossible to complete, since I can't load that much onto a trireme. Have any of you ever received such a buggy quest in ANNO 117?

How Much Gold do Mines Produce Compared to River Washers?

Hi,

I see that mercury unlocks gold mines at 7K believers and I'm curious if they are worth it. I have no islands worshiping him because his passive bonus doesn't seem worth it. Is it worth my while trying to unlock them? I just unlocked the coal mines on Cinis from Vulcan and they have the same rate of production as charcoal so I can't imagine any reason to use a mine slot on them instead of other resources.

Thanks

some questions about caecilia

hey everyone! just had a couple quick about caecilia that I was hoping to get some help with.

first off, I completed her storyline and tried to do the dindymene quest but even though I had enough knowledge to succeed, it just disappeared after three slides and I never got to follow through with it. is that normal? anyone experience anything similar?

second of all, how do specialists like this work? do they add a fertility where it doesn't exist in the range of an officium, or do they boost productivity where it already exists? I wanna complete my quests but don't wanna waste obsidian so I just wanted to check in advance. thanks!

I accidentally clicked on the credits on the title screen...

You should try it once it's worth it

Half way done.

I always get stuck around this mark and lose inspiration and start over again.

I try efficiency and beauty but I always find it so difficult and fall back in to grid building.

I try to go for 50k pop on the dlc island and 250k world wide in this game. But the ps5 doesn’t like big games.

Rette die Bäume / Save the Trees achievement

I have all the achievements except this one and it bothers me to only have 8/9 for the Hall of Fame there. Does anyone know how I can unlock this achievement?

Adding raiders halfway makes their main hubs not spawn

So instead of starting the game with the 2 raiders i thought lets not give myself that headache straight away and i added them when i was already well on my way with building. But now ive added them i cant kill them because the main hubs wont spawn. Even though they are both on my diplomacy screen and ive killed ships from both of them. Has anybody got a fix for this or is this just another fun bug?

Is anno117 a chill game experience?

Hey, I’m looking to get back into gaming after a long break and looking for a chill game. Would you say anno117 is a chilled experience? Is it possible to turn the combat off and would you recommend this for a fun play through? I also don’t want to miss out on major gameplay mechanics so interested to hear you guys’s thoughts.

Also do you recommend the story mode for a first play through? Any tips on how to set up/ approach the game for a more chilled experience would be appreciated.

Thanks

Question about new dlc and the volcano

I’m a little confused about how the volcano works and how to plan to replenish my obsidian. I recently started a save and I’m about 6ish hours in. My only island is the huge new one that I started on. I understand that obsidian is finite and relies on each volcanic eruption (which hasn’t erupted yet for me). I’m currently producing statuettes but I’ve been looking at buying some of Cecelia’s specialists but if I buy them then I can’t really produce statuettes anymore. When will the volcano explode? How much obsidian can I expect to replenish from this? Also will the other islands replenish their obsidian even on the other side of the map? Also a side note I’ve done the quest mission with Cecelia where you sacrifice food and stuff to Vulcan. Does this actually affect the volcano like the quest insinuates?

Question about running 4K with a RTX2060

I have an Alienware laptop with a rtx2060 and can run the game on 2048x1152 but turning it to 4K drops my framerate around 10.

I may not be able to pull it off but if anyone has any ideas I'm all ears.

I'm thinking I may just get Starlink and use GEforce NOW to stream it with max settings
