Just started making some AoE1 DE content :D

As someone who spent years playing AoE1 RoR before fully switching to DE around 2018, I recently started a YouTube channel focused on AoE1 DE. I usually upload around 2–3 videos per week.

Most of my long-form videos are real Deathmatch games and beginner-friendly guides, while the Shorts are more experimental: unit comparisons, economy tests, hidden mechanics, build efficiency, mods, some ridiculous backdoor highlights, and other random AoE1 stuff I’ve always been curious about myself :v.

Some examples:

  • How Many Heavy Catapults Does It Take to One-Shot a Ballista Tower?
  • Egyptian Villager vs Yamato Villager Woodcutting Comparison
  • 30 Phoenician Centurions vs 30 Macedonian Centurions
  • Greek Juggernaught vs Greek Trireme
  • Nuke Trooper | AoE DE
  • Massive Backdoor: Sumerian Heavy Catapults Obliterate 100+ Villagers
  • 15 Perfect Farms vs 15 Messy Farms
  • Ballistics vs No Ballistics – Big Difference?

If that kind of content sounds interesting ... or if you just want to revisit some AoE1 nostalgia, feel free to check it out:

I was so sick of ranked toxicity that I asked my opponent for "peace only." You won't believe how it ended.

I was honestly completely fed up with ranked. The toxic GGs, the "Ban them, the loser, the low ELO insults, I was just tired of it. It’s a game, you win some, you lose some. But lately, it felt like too much.

In my last ranked match, right at the start, I decided to just type in the chat: "No violence. Only peace."

To my shock, my rival agreed.

We ended up playing for a solid hour. No military. Just trading, building houses, and placing windmills right next to each other. We built multiple Wonders side-by-side. We even let our monks hang out together and gifted relics to one another! It became this incredibly fun build-order where I actually got to recreate a settlement design I used to do back in 2010.

At the end, we collaborated to build the ultimate peace sign out of Palicade on the map.

I don't care much about ELO, so I told them in the chat that I would resign once we got bored. I said my goodbyes. But right as I was about to, they resigned exactly 2 seconds before me. WTH. I am actually mind blown. The true AoE spirit is still alive out there. To whoever that player was: thank you for restoring my faith in this community.

Add a command same way double tap will select all the same unit on screen. Exp shift double tap will select all same unit in the game.

So if you wanted to check how many farms you had you could shift double left click one farm selecting all of the ones you own. This i think would improve the game alot. This would work with units too. And the best feature would be millitary training buildings. See the amount of a specific unit also.

Make buildings able to be self upgrade exp: Watch Tower upgrading itself to Bombard tower.

I find it would be cool. But a build time would be a good addtion too. Like Towers could upgrade to fortified towers. Or make it so villagers can upgrade on built buildings. When building a bombard tower on watch tower it would reduce the cost for bombard tower by the watch tower cost and make it build faster.
This idea reminds me of starcraft 2.
