What is the favorite banner you made or coolest looking banner. Mine is probably this Gibby one I made.
Forgive my ignorance here. I was spectating a match after I had an encounter with this dude and his crazy movement before my team got wiped, couldn't hit him consistently for nothing (that's a skill issue on my end, I'm very rusty after a while of not playing). Is this kind of movement really still possible?
Man, I need to vent. I'm beside myself right now because I failed to get the Skippy Gun recolors. I never gave too much attention to the FF and Gundam event because I wasn't really a fan of those games. So, when someone posted that the Gundam Sword recolors were gone after the event, I never bothered to check those posts.
Fast forward to today, I saw someone post that the Skippy recolors were gone and I was shocked that I could no longer get them despite me already completing the event. I knew that the skins would be gone once the event ended, but I didn't know the recolors would be too. The worst part is, I already had enough shards to buy all the recolors before the event ended, I just procrastinated cause I wanted to try out the original skin first before trying the others.
Now, I know this is an event-limited skin. I should have read the fine print, I know. I should have checked the forums and older posts, but damn, why not give us the option to buy the recolors after the event? If you already own the gun and you're buying it with shards, just give us that option. I'm blaming my lazy ass for not looking into this deeper, maybe 90%, but I'm also blaming EA a bit cause this is just wrong, man.

I don't play this game anymore really and not saying the game needs to cater to what version of it I preferred. But i put 3k hours into this game and I played day one until season 20. Ive seen every buff and nerf up until that point. I still watch the pro scene a bit. I just cant help but look back on the hay day of this game between season 5-9. Before every legend had a game changing ablility. Sure things to help you in a fight but it seems like its really taken a step back from gunplay first.
The ttk change I find to be one of the things i like the least as well as ablilty power creep and just plain no skill 1 button press and the enemy dies type situations i hate the most. I would love to see this game do a fortnite chapter 2 style rebalance and tone down how powerful the characters utilities are and give that weaker damage values on weapons to make the fights more drawn out like it was back in the day.
Maybe its just me and il get downvoted to hell but even just watching this game I find its gone to far, similar to overwatch or marvel rivals in that sense.
Counter-play in ability-based games is fundamental to the health of the game and its gameplay.
An enemy’s character ability should create a problem you can solve, rather than a situation where you simply have to accept the outcome.
Without counter-play, abilities rise above mechanical skill, and the game becomes more about pressing a button to guarantee an advantage, rather than changing the conditions in which a gunfight takes place in a balanced way.
In plain terms: it becomes very low-risk/high-reward, and this is poor game design.
Seer is the prime example of this principle being broken.
⸻
What does healthy counter-play look like?
For example, Gibraltar’s bubble is a very strong tactical ability. When played correctly, it can completely change the momentum of a gunfight.
However, Mad Maggie’s entire kit revolves around being a direct counter to it. Her Drill and Wrecking Ball are both capable of penetrating/destroying the bubble.
Wattson, a fan-favourite defensive legend, is incredibly strong (and probably over-tuned despite her lack of presence in high-ranked lobbies outside of Competitive Apex). Breaching a competent Wattson’s position can be frustrating and stalling.
That is, until they encounter a Crypto — whose EMP can destroy all of Wattson’s fences and her Pylon ultimate.
When a Bangalore shoots her smoke during a gunfight, the player does not win the fight simply because of the smoke. They still have to utilise the smoke to showcase skill expression through aim, positioning, awareness and timing.
This type of ability provides an opportunity for outplay.
These are just a few of many examples of what healthy and balanced counter-play looks like.
⸻
Notice something about these abilities
All of the aforementioned abilities are relatively simple in their respective roles.
In other words, these abilities primarily do one thing.
Some can be upgraded with the perk system — Gibraltar being a beneficiary of this with his electrified bubble at Blue Evo — but the fundamental purpose of the abilities remains straightforward.
Seer’s abilities, on the other hand, provide almost no practical way of countering his kit.
⸻
Seer’s kit
Seer’s abilities excel in almost every area that is inherently problematic in FPS/ability shooters.
His kit revolves around scanning/WH which are already problematic.
His passive provides an endless source of information about an enemy’s whereabouts with no cooldown.
His tactical ability is technically a 5-in-1 ability.
Seer’s tactical:
• Stun-locks a player in place.
• Silences their abilities.
• Gives his entire team full-body/health-bar live-scan WH.
• Completely visually clutters the affected player’s POV.
• Provides Seer with a speed boost upon scanning an enemy.
And that’s before considering the fact that he has two charges in case he misses the first one.
Individually, these are all strong abilities.
Seer gets five of them in one tactical.
⸻
The problem with fighting Seer
When fighting almost any other legend, players can reflect on “what could we have done differently?” if they lose a gunfight.
That works into skill expression. It can be used as a learning experience and help develop ideas for counter-play in the future.
For example:
“If we had a Pathfinder, we could have rotated here.”
Or:
“If we had a Maggie Ball, we could have pushed the Gibby team.”
These situations give players something they can learn from. It’s simply just “I was Seer scanned”.
You can make the argument that other legends have WH scan abilities too — Bloodhound (OG & rework), Sparrow, Crypto, etc.
But those abilities generally perform one primary action for outplaying an enemy team. For example, the WH abilities from those legends only provide location info and nothing else.
And while the existence of WH is itself problematic, the other scan-based legends retrieve that information in a far more balanced way than Seer.
With Seer, the information advantage is combined with a number of additional effects that directly interfere with the opposing player’s ability to fight back.
⸻
Season 10 should have been a learning experience
Season 10 should have been nothing more than a learning experience for the developers responsible for game balancing.
And yet, here we are.
You can also make the argument that Seer is simply a difficult legend to balance correctly.
And that’s exactly because he is fundamentally broken.
The solution to this isn’t another small numerical nerf.
The solution is a full rework of his kit.
Many legends on the roster only counter one, or a few, legends with their kit.
Seer counters all of them.
⸻
“Guns are way way more important than Legend kits. Apex is a gun game where abilities alter the context in which the gun game happens.”
— RV-ERIC (Apex Dev)
⸻
TL;DR
When fighting a Seer, a player is faced with an unavoidable reality with no practical way of counter-play.
Abilities should create problems that players can solve — not outcomes that players simply have to accept.
Seer is the clearest example of where Apex has moved away from that principle, and his kit needs a fundamental rework rather than another minor adjustment.
Edit: they apparently patched this issue right after i played lol.
The level all 3 wildcards in 1 game challenge has not tracked for me or my friend.
He has played 2 matches today where he got and leveled all 3 wildcards in one match, he won both matches even. And i played with him for 1 of those matches, so i have only played 1 match today. I have the level 3 wildcards, but not the level all 3 in 1 match, even though i only played the 1 match. This challenge is already really tough imo and the fact that it doesnt track properly just makes me not even wanna bother with this event.
does this buyout mean anything for apex and the titianfall series in general? i’m kinda scared cos ea is killing off a lot of their game franchises rn
Quite curious how the the devs gave crypto invisibility couple years ago and took it away because it was "broken". Mind you crypto couldn't move shoot or fight while invisible and is basically vulnerable to all damage.
Cool, then they gave mirage complete invisibility which he can use while moving and actively being in the fight, but that wasn't broken because he had to be healing actively to use it. Ok. Bullshit but ok.
Then they gave Bloodhound full invisibility. Which he can use while sprinting, aiming , running. Oh and it works for his teammates too. Cool.
Meanwhile crypto glows like a firefly while "invisible" such that everybody can see him. And he can't even see what's around him unless he's in drone view and then his drone gets shot down .
Amazing balancing work respawn.
Just seems a bit outdated since thats his original icon from when he released
-Enter game
-Queue for 2 normal games
-Lose both cz teammates wanna drop the second they can
-Queue one more time
-Game gives u no teammates
-I survive till top 2
-Queue for next game
-Same as first 2 games cz teammates think that they are faide
-Queue again cz im addicted
Note: I genuinely got more RP without teammates than with, I got +62rp with my 1 solo game and -30rp in the combined 3 games with teammates, all had negative rp
Hey everyone,
I'm thinking about upgrading my monitor and could use some advice — mainly for Apex Legends.
Right now I'm running an LG UltraGear 1440p 180Hz. I was considering either a 4K 240Hz panel, or staying at 1440p but bumping up to 240Hz.
One thing that confuses me: almost every pro player I watch sticks with 1440p or even 1080p instead of going 4K. Is the lower resolution actually better for competitive play, or is it just habit/hardware limits?
My specs are an RTX 5070 Ti and an i5-14600KF — is that enough to run Apex at max FPS?
Thanks for your help :)
Idk if this is just me but the gameplay audio is SO OFF!!
It sounds like shots being fired from one direction but it's a totally opposite direction, teammate voicelines sound like they are right next to me when teammates are nowhere near me.
These last few games it's sounded like I was surrounded by gunfire when it's only coming from one direction, it's so damn confusing!!!
So once again, “PROS” have found a way to get their stick drift and previous aim assist back simply by applying an anti deadzone to their controllers.
It’s so cool to know that just by tweaking one particular setting, players can get better accuracy without actually doing anything else.
At first I was like: Oh that’s cool. Aim assist will only work if the player is actively aiming at all times. Maybe this is actually somewhat fair.
But then, once again, players use third party software to bypass the update.
If there’s a mechanic that can be abused by players, it will be abused…
“competitive integrity“ btw…
p.s. dear controller reader, I have given you info on how to get old AA back. Nobody here is talking about nerfing your precious AA, chill out!
Is this a good clip? Ye I squad wiped and save my team but I just want some input one whether it’s good
