Speculation: What will this accomplish? How this affects both SoloQ and Pre-made teams?

Hello, I've read a lot of comments under that post, and the people seem to have three general points:

  1. More players will hit Diamond, lowering the value of the rank.
  2. There should be another separation rank between Plat and Diamond, or at least a clearer separation between D4-D3 and D2-D1.
  3. Ranked should have separate queues for SoloQ and pre-made squads.

I agree with only the third.

You know, I really think this is the healthiest in-game test in a while.

A coordinated squad and three random solo players are fundamentally different teams. I am not saying that randoms in SoloQ are bad, they're not, they're not coordinated together. How often do you and your randoms push absolutely together, are confident in each other, and focus on someone (even basic "Bang one hp"), or plan rotations?

Pre-made squads do that by default, and there's nothing wrong with that; that is a strategy for an absolutely different environment.

Currently, as a full SoloQ player in D4 3/4, I experience two scenarios:

  1. Round 4: ~10 Squads
  2. Round 3: ~4 Squads

Know why? Pre-stacks have nothing to do with that, right? But maybe I'm wrong here.

Pre-stacks can force their momentum and just start stomping basically as soon as they land, while randoms take a while to ramp up and are much less often a thing to see. Pre-stacks do not hesitate, they do not split a lot, and they don't take forever to recover because they don't trust you.

You will genuinely have to fight for your rank. You will have to bite down on that placement + KP to move, even in diamond. Sure, many will stop at D4, but hey, D1-D2 badges are shiny, while D3 and D4 badges are not.

The skill gap between just “mechanically good” and “actually aware players” will become evident.

Also, a few points to add:

Even two guys stacking as your teammates is already fundamentally different than playing with two randoms; this isn't just an Apex thing. I have observed that a lot before.

I also do not suggest anti-stacking; stacking is absolutely valid because it is a completely different thing from playing solo, after all, there are no solo scrims or no solo algs.

Servers fully down

The servers are cooked you can barely log in and matchmaking completely doesn't work and apex legends status website shows 1000+ number of issues so just great

Matchmaking issues

I’m trying to play and matchmaking takes up to 20 minutes, I have good connection and all servers have ping, I relaunched a game at least 5 times. Am I the only one with this problem?

All I wanna do is play

Something is going on AGAIN with the servers. I finally got into the lobby but been stuck in matchmaking for like 6 minutes. They haven’t updated their website or social media saying anything is wrong so servers must’ve just crashed a bit ago.

Solo-queuing ranked is gonna be my admission to the ward

I swear solo queuing is actually so frustrating like I’m doing EVERYTHING I CAN to be a good teammate and people just leave fights they LEAD me into all the time. No pings NOTHING. I get Z E R O help in fights ZERO.

P.s pubs is like literally no fun so I play ranked

Wildcard basically made kill trackers meaningless. What is the new "scary" tracker now?

Im probably going to be downvoted to oblivion but Hear me out.

Before Wildcard, pubs were genuinely brutal.

Games barely made it past round 2, lobbies were down to 5 squads in the first few minutes, and finishing with 3 to 5 kills felt like a solid game. At least for me

Kill trackers meant something because earning them was genuinely hard.

Now with Wildcard, I am regularly walking away with 6 to 9 kills, 20 bombs every few days, and there are still squads alive afterward.

The mode is just fundamentally faster and more "kill rich."

It is not a skill thing. The format changed the math.

So here is my question:

If 50k kills on one legend used to be intimidating, and now anyone grinding Wildcard can inflate that number way faster, what is the tracker that actually carries weight now?

Wins still feel meaningful to me.

Finishers? Wins? What id it for you other than badges or kill trackers?

Also just noticed someone already has 10k kills on Axle with the legend barely being out. The kill economy is just different now.

What tracker do you actually respect?

My Season 29 ranked experience so far:

It seems like everyone figured out how effective it is to Valk divebomb everyone.

OG arenas movement clip, and why it was actualy a good game mode.

I would love to see Arenas as constant game mode in the future.

Ranked mode experience and MMR reward system wasn't that good, but overall gamemode was great as practise tool/chill gaming session or sometimes even tryhard mode and buildling team synergy. Isolated 3v3 is much better than mixtape playlist, and overall it had more meaning. I feel like people could practise a lot, eliminate stress of loss compared to actual win or die br gamemode. As you can see in the video I could practise movement in actual fights, and get rid of pressure because it is isolated gamemode and there is still another round to do so. I am not that good in actual br game, but muscle memory i build by practising arenas gave me more gamesense. Also the only substitute to this is firing range with friends but ohnestly, its not as immersive as arenas were.

Bot Royale Leaving? 😢

I see that it ends in 4 days??? Are they really getting rid of that mode?

It’s the only mode I can have any fun in! I’m a high level cause I play a lot, but I’m not skilled at all lol. Have a horrible k/d. In regular trios I just get killed immediately.

Please keep this mode!!!

Does she have an artificial heart?

Considering her leg got death punched into oblivion…it wouldn’t be surprising if she sustained damage to the heart or she got a condition where her randomly stops out of nowhere….

Can anybody explain the solo queue argument to me?

If I look at my personal experience, I've met a ton of people I exclusively play Apex with. None of them I know outside of the game. I only solo queue if there is no other player around to play with. What prevents people from sending friend requests to players they want to team up with in the future? Why is the network I enjoy playing competitively with being invalidated simply because others didn’t build it up over the last seven years?

The predator 3-stack argument is simply not strong enough for me. Those are at best 250 on 83.000 teams playing Apex in peak hours (over all modes). Besides that, I’m getting destroyed in Apex Diamond lobbies more often than not because of my own dumb mistakes. And lets be honest. I can't blame preds for utilizing on my mistakes.

Solo queueing on a 7 year old TEAM orientated shooter with a strong player base sounds as a choice to me.

Upcoming Matchmaking Test: Diamond + Solo Queue Only

📋TESTING:
From June 9th to June 23rd we will be conducting the following test in Ranked:

Ranked will be solo queue only for all players Diamond and above. If you are Diamond or higher, you will not be able to squad up as a premade in Ranked.

Our hypotheses are that this will create more evenly matched high-skill lobbies, reduce hard-carries into Diamond, Master and Predator and build trust in the overall fairness of these matches.

While this is a commonly requested feature by portions of our community, we will be closely monitoring community sentiment and match data.

Note: The in-game notification that some encountered yesterday (May 19th) was a visual error, and players are currently still able to squad up without restrictions.

Knockdownshield ranked clutch I did 4 years ago

When cleaning up disc space I found this old clip of mine from back when I was grinding ranks like crazy. At the time I thought i lost it somewhere but I found it few years later. Pretty crazy stuff, brings back good memories :)

I think it could be season 9 - 12? Valk was released in s9, and i think this map was back when Fuse had been added to the game, any ideas?
