Apple TV music app is s*#%

All these years in development and Apple still hasn’t figured out a decent suggestions algorithm.

Take the TV app - i search a song, say keyword “moon”— it plays that song, then “Autoplay” thinks the next best appropriate song to play is all other songs that came up in the searchlist.

Like yeah - “you know what, today I wanna listen to all songs ever with the word Moon in the title” ?!??

why couldnt have apple designed a normal mouse

The apple magic mouse absolutely SUCKS. I just got the logitech g305 and i will never touch the magic mouse again.

Firstly the ergonomics on the magic mouse is trash i literally cannot hold it and move it around normally, the magic mouse cant left click and right click at the same time, you sometimes accidentally scroll the magic mouse thanks to its touch screen, and you dont get a scroll wheel button. I hear people say the gestures on the magic mouse are nice which I guess are okay because i never really used them. But still the magic mouse sucks and apple probably knows it.

Yeah sure the magic mouse "looks" good but no one really cares about that. So why did apple choose to make this utter garbage? Im sure their top tier engineers and designers know what they're doing.

apple is being fucking weird

okay so, i have an iphone. i have photos i had from like 4 years ago just last month, but now they’re gone. apple has a habit of deleting photos in my phone without my knowledge, and i only know they delete them when i go to check back to that timeframe. all of my photos from middle school are gone. it’s pissing me off because my valuable memories are going down the drain, and i rely on photos to help me remember things that have happened in my life, because i have a horrible memory.

Just another reason why I regret buying Airpod 4s

Other reasons: reduced battery life, no configurable touch controls, no native EQ, volume & balance adjustment resets every time connection drops, ×2 or ×3 price vs equivalent 3rd party models with all these features (when used with Mac without iPhone)

Why does Apple's built-in software behave weird?

One of the worst things about Apple is that they create a polished set of default apps, however, they have exotic behavior that doesn't happen on Windows, Android or Linux.

In the Photos app, you can't simply open one file to edit a photo. You have to drag and drop a photo to an app first, then you can edit it, then you need to export an edited photo back. Using all the nice features of the app requires importing the photos to the library, from which it needlessly takes up my Mac's disk space, whereas with the other tools, I can select folders where there are all my photos.

Apple Notes cripples its functionality when using a non-iCloud account and can only export them in PDF, which is just about the worst format possible. I should be able to choose Markdown, .docx or any other sane format that isn't a nightmare to be parsed by a computer.

The Calendar and Reminders apps are also less functional when I use them with my Nextcloud account. They'd like me to give up my data sovereignty into their hands.

Is anyone else also annoyed by this behavior?

Apple Music free trail automatically added or snuck in?

Just bought a new iPhone at an Apple Store. I got an email that I now have a free 3 month trial to Apple Music. I don't recall OKing it during the purchase. I haven't even opened up the box. I cancelled the trial out of spite.

My question is did they sneak this in, or could I have missed the OK box or is this automatically added when purchasing a new iPhone? Seems kinda sleazy to automatically add it if they did.

Worst experience with Apple team

I have an issue with my iphone camera module causing a Burned black dot in 5x camera . This issue was started after giving my iPhone for a mid system repair . I have raised concern regarding that . In my city there are no official authorised service centre nor the official Apple stores
I have to travel 200km to visit an authorised service centre and at least 350km to official Apple Store
I have contacted the authorised team that repair will take a few days time and you need to submit my device I asked for a Lonar device which they said they can’t provide until and unless they are sending to Apple repair centre
Now Iam trying to travel to a city like Mumbai Pune or Bangalore which has official Apple stores where I can get the repair done in the same day if the stock is available
But before going to the service centre as I need to travel a long journey to visit the store . Now Iam trying to contact the store which is not possible as they are connecting to customer support and they are not ready to share to stock availability until and unless I have visit the store
Is this fair ? Not knowing anything about my repaid until I travel physically to the store and get to know this much time they will take
Even having Apple care is waste of money until and unless you city has an authorised service centre as for repairs you need to travel long distances and no much options left whether it’s your mistake caused the repair or the mistake is from Apple side nothing you can do

No hate towards the technical team or call support as they can’t do much regarding in this case !!

Mistaketly Forced to update to iOS 26 - It's over DONE with Apple

I have disable auto update, so apple keep bugging me every day to update, sometime multiple times a day. There isn't any way to disable that notification, and one day surprised my 15 w/ iOS 18 has been updated to iOS 26. I was extremely mad was trying to avoid this and Apple intended this to happen. So done with apple, it doesn't even work well and Siri never understands me for years where google works almost flawlessly. I'm switching. I had it with apple forcing this update on people and bothering about it. Why are they pushing so hard to force this update? What in this update the older iOS didn't have they really want to force on to you?

how much of you all hated apple's lightning connector

i hated it too because for three reasons

i could not use the same cable to charge my iphone switch lite and switch 2 and android and laptop

the lightning cables and accessories were so expensive usb c was way far cheaper

when i went to my friend's and neighbour's house i could not use the cables because my iphone only had lightning

and that's why i hated it so much and i am so glad that apple switched to usb-c finally to solve all those three problems

I might get a good deal on an iPhone and MacBook, but.. it's not worth it..

The other month, my NICE android phone broke, and I have yet to fix it. The other android phone I had is absolute dog crap CHEAP, and wouldn't charge with anything under a whopping 15w of power. I started using the iPhone I have, which is locked to ATT and I got it mainly for the camera..

I found out that I can get something like 1GB of data/unlimited call/text for some $10-15 a month, which I can afford. I also found out the local store has a promotion: something like leasing to own a MacBook air pro for a low price for existing customers with an iPhone.

But, is it worth it? Maybe (maybe MAYBE) it would be worth it to me, because I am trying to break into the digital nomad scene with my bikepacking vlogging, and this would make it easier to do stuff ON THE GO and have it work with this stupid Locked-Software iPhone..

Otherwise, I am just going to give up, use my old GoPro, get a good external mic, have to sync that in Post and hope for the best.

I do not like it so far, but everyone assures me it's the iOS 26 having stupid issues with the UI priorities...

Authoritarian Design

Basically, Apple used to design their phones with additions and options you could choose. Now, they are designing phones to make their new additions and options as default, with no easy way to remove the default. From banners covering the screen, to new features on screen which block or make hard to read other parts of the screen and require a scroll down to read the essential part of the screen, to deciding when and what you want to hear, the design has now become a good example of an authoritative power ethos of a corporation catering to people who enjoy having their phone engage them, whether requested or not. I have no problem with Apple adding banners or other additions so long as they are options that are not default options. I want a simple phone and don't want options unless I choose them that cause more clicks, more scrolling, and generally engage me without my wanting to be engaged.

The latest example: I spent half an hour last night with Chatgpt trying to find a way to stop my phone from auto playing the last podcast I listened to every time I turn on my phone. Chatgpt said Apple changed from this never happening to what it is now, without an easy way to stop it. For instance, I can pause a podcast, go to emails, chats, etc. .....and the next morning Apple has decided by design that I want to hear the last podcast and it auto plays. Any suggestions?

Am I the only one who sees this major flaw with iCloud?

I've used it for years without any issue, until it was time my storage began running low. When I started getting a notification about it, I'll admit, it was my fault for not upgrading to a higher storage capacity beforehand.

Like a lot of people, I used to assume that it was backing up my photos when it said "syncing," so I thought every picture I had was stored on my phone before being automatically copied to iCloud. I know there's an option to configure it like that after learning the hard way, because once I finally ran out of space, more than half of my camera roll was deleted.

When I tried talking about this on support forums for Apple, a number of people just pointed the finger at me for not paying to expand my storage space beforehand, and for misunderstanding how iCloud is syncing my data vs backing it up. Again, yes, I agree with the first part that I should've expanded my storage once I got the warning (Apple should still do a better job on clarifying syncing vs backing up), but what's absolutely ridiculous is that iCloud would just go ahead and delete half of my pictures after running out of space.

When you run out of storage on any sort of drive, whether it's on a server like Google Drive, Dropbox, or an actual physical HDD or flash storage device in front of you, the software running it won't just automatically delete your data to save space; you just won't be able to write any more files to it until you manually clear up some space. Maybe you'd have to program your OS or cloud service to automatically erase files on your behalf, but I've never heard of something like this happening to someone once they ran out of storage.

iCloud is the only platform where something like this has happened, and when I tried explaining it online for support, the problem just got pointed back at me for not "expanding my storage ahead of time." I'm sorry, but how the hell do you not see the bigger problem with this? Or am I the one who's not understanding something here? At least someone on their customer support line said that it could've been a glitch (finally someone admitting a potential fault on Apple's part), but if automatically deleting files is the default for iCloud, this isn't a safe software to be using.

My final straw. (for today)

EDIT: Holy wow and wtf, you really don’t know what you don’t know and in this case, I didn’t know multi-touch was a thing until now. Yes it’s user error, my apologies you filthy animals.

If you’re not getting it, I’m literally just trying to put an app in a folder, but the folder keeps moving back and forth on me.

I KNOW there are other ways to accomplish what I’m trying to do, but at this point, I’m more annoyed by how unnecessarily annoying this is lmfao.

There should absolutely be a way to add an app directly from within the folder!!!

Is my email linked to an apple id?

I cannot create a apple id with my email and I can"t add it to an existing one. Recovering my password is also not working. So is this email linked to an apple id or not??? or did they just block it for trying too many times? Apple is so confusing

Macbook charging questions (portable powerbank and cable type).

Hey all.

Just got a new macbook, the cheapest thing I could get so the NEO. I want it to keep as long as possible and I have a couple questions about the battery charger or power bank kinds I can use to charge it.

I work from a place without power point/outlets so I always have a powerbank with me. Whatever thing I bought on amazon, allegedly good to start up my car battery if it runs out (it does work).

I use that, and whatever cheap USB - USB C cable you could get in a gas station.

Any chance this might impact battery life, or worse, damage the battery?

Thank you.

MacBooks are the worst laptops ever

Unlike any normal laptop (Dell, HP, Lenovo), apple MacBooks have a plethora of downsides such as:

- overheating like crazy from minimal usage
- unnecessarily loud fans
- terribly power inefficient
- poor battery life
- weigh a brick
- ugly design
- ugly OS
- VERY UNSECURE , and prone to malware

I do not understand why anyone would purchase one of these pieces of garbage
