Help me solidify my future AR build?

Help me solidify my future AR build?

So, I've been (unsuccessfully) saving up for a WASR-10 for a while now, and finally decided to put it on the backburner and get an AR instead. I already planned on doing that, but I wanted to grab one after the WASR, as it was the bigger upfront cost and needed the most budgeting, after which most other things I wanted would be easier to get. As I said, though, I'm putting a pin in that to get a practical AR setup going and I have a pretty solid idea, but wanted feedback on some things to see what you all think and would suggest.

Before we begin, this isn't going to be the single most min-maxed pragmatic build ever. I'm knowingly picking some parts just because I like them, but I do genuinely want to make the rest of it as good as it can be without breaking the bank.

Anyway, my plan, so far, is to start with, essentially, this guy's build as a base:

https://youtu.be/HQO3tThYQCo?si=ZTEQb5GLXrS0Tq\_A

He did struggle with the quality of his upper, so I want to avoid that and I'm willing to shell out more money to fix that, but don't know what to go with.

I do want to keep the A2 stock, and while that optic is fine for me to start out I do have my eye on a 3x ACOG, but that will have to be budgeted for down the line.

I also thought I'd add the Cloud Defensive Rein 3 as the light.

For the handguard, I want to go with an A1 style triangular model.

I intend, currently, to go with a 20", 1:7 twist heavy barrel, and, at some point, to get it free-floated.

I have heard about heavy buffer tube options, but I'm not enough of an AR guy to know what the options are and what the benefits are.

Finally, I want a good flash hider, but I don't know anything about the kind that ARs use.

Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to consult you all before I pulled the proverbial trigger on anything and committed money to it. Thank you all in advance.

Symbols that communicate radical leftism/socialism/antifascism that aren’t the hammer and sickle, antifascist action, etc?

M81 Woodland MOLLE II FLC Vest WIP.

Did a Little FLC Vest setup with all the stuff I had on hand. The main thing was getting rear panel to expand which allowed the attaching of two canteens and a buttpack while having the rest of the molle strips free. The vest is pretty cool, even over my UCP OTV (no plates yet unfortunately just the inserts). Attached is the following:

2x M81 Woodland SDS Defense 100 round SAW/ GP pouches

2x ALICE Mag pouches

2x M81 Woodland SDS Defense M16a2 double Mag pouches

2x M81 Woodland SDS Defense Canteen/GP pouches

1X M81 Woodland SDS Defense 40MM Double Grenade Pouch

1x USGI ALICE M81 Woodland three day field pack

1x M81 Woodland SDS Defense M9 pistol mag pouch

1x Coyote Brown SDS Defense M9 Pistol Mag pouch

1x Coyote Brown USMC IFAK Pouch

1x OKC-3S Bayonet and black MOLLE Scabbard

2x M81 Woodland SDS Defense Frag grenade pouches

Finally managed to add a nice 1903 Springfield to my collection. Stumbled upon it at a local shop by chance today, for a fairly decent deal. Been looking for one for a while, so I'm happy to check that box off the list. Stock has some cool patterns, especially on the bottom.

you move from an mc arid environment to an mc tropic environment and you paint accordingly (but keep the lower FDB to stay true to your roots)

Remington 700 Hogue stock negatively affecting accuracy?

Just hogged out the forend of the Hogue overmolded stock on the M-twenty-poor. Looks like shit but a piece of paper passes freely under the barrel without touching the stock. It was like all rubber all the way down. I can't believe how little hard plastic seems to be in this thing.

Turns out this whole time the end of the stock was touching the barrel. Saw a couple YouTube videos about this problem and fell down a forum rabbithole. It rubbed so much so that there was a rub mark on the underside of the barrel! I can't believe I never noticed that the whole time I've owned it! Agghhh I'm going to be so mad if it was something this stupid that was causing all my grouping issues.

Last week I had some slightly better luck with a 180 grain bullet, (I had been shooting 150gr x-tac) and they were all touching, but in a line, not a circle. Fingers crossed this gets the job done until I can afford a nice, aluminum bedded fiberglass stock. I've gotten used to the trigger now so I don't think I need to replace that.

Wish me luck! The training goal is 5 rounds in a single ragged hole at 100 yards.
