Ghent, Belgium: Rainy Day Walking Tour | 4K 60FPS ASMR [INTENTIONAL]

Last weekend, my wife and I visited Ghent, Belgium, and captured this immersive walking tour. From stunning gothic architecture to cozy medieval alleys, we made sure to visit as many beautiful spots as possible. Filmed in crystal-clear 4K 60FPS with immersive ambient ASMR sounds. We hope this walk brings a little bit of Ghent's magic straight to your screen!

Need specific ASMR recommendations [discussion]

Hey ! This is my first time even commenting on Reddit, so I don’t know if I’m doing this right. I wanted it to be on this thread because I really do love asmr, like I can’t sleep at night properly without listening to it. So I was wondering if anyone sees this if they can give some recommendations on their favorite asmr content creators. Like more specifically the ones that specialize in those asmr where it’s kinda like role play in a way but more so Boyfriend X Listener (Fem or Male) or Girlfriend X Listener (Fem or Male). Hopefully this is like specific enough ? Not like those tropes exactly but in that kind of context of roleplaying. I feel like the ones I’ve listened to feel like kinda unsatisfying or I haven’t been able to find a creator to stick with, so I’ve been jumping back and forth. Honestly I’m open to any recommendations on YouTube or any other platform. I don’t mean this to sound weird but nobody I know irl listens to asmr like this or the amount I do so I have nobody to turn to !

Sooo I made my first ASMR video I HATE IT, should I post it anyways? [Question]

Like the title says basically I made an ASMR video a couple months ago, after being an avid asmr lover for years and I just finished editing it. I hate everything about it.
I didn’t spend enough time on triggers, didn’t do as many visuals as I would’ve liked, I do some (very minimal) mouth sounds and I just was awkward and repeated the same transition words over and over because I guess I didn’t have anything else to say lol

I have done a lot of research about YouTube and learned that nobody ever sees your first video anyways, should I just bite the bullet and post it just to get my feet off the ground?

What would yall do? I feel like everybody is gonna hate it and me lol.

My favorite ASMRtist.started using AI and now I feel like a lost puppy. [Discussion]

This is kind of silly and mostly a rant, but I hate the influx in AI usage. I’ve been an avid ASMR lover for years but for the past two I started listening to ASMRBelle literally every night. I was in her top 0.04% of viewers on YouTube, I was a paying subscriber, I would watch 1-2 videos every night for TWO YEARS, and now I’m LOST.

There are other creators that I like to watch, but for some reason her ASMR just hit so right every single time. Now that she started using AI all the time, I unsubbed and unfollowed and I’m in kind of a funk. I choose different creators to watch/listen to every night, but I just don’t get the same feeling that I got for her. I might be weird or silly, but I’m just in a funk. Feels like losing interest in a hobby, or love for a favorite thing.

ETA Since everyone is asking the same question. If you have followed her as long as I have and interacted daily with her content, you would see a lot more than a quick skim of her page.
She started with instagram and TikTok stories, just little edits using AI of her flying and shrinking etc, and then she posted reels and TikTok’s that were fully AI, then she posted a full length YouTube video of her as an AI edited avatar (blue people), and then she has continued to post reels/tik toks including one of her using her own AI face and AI hands “””doing ASMR on herself””” it wss so unsettling that I blocked her just so she wouldn’t pop up on my fyp anymore.

I never once said her page was fully 100% AI like the ugly message I got suggested. I said she was using AI all the time. Daily stories and tik toks/instagram including her personal instagram.

[Discussion] I'm looking for a specific ASMRtist!

Hi, I used to watch videos of a guy with these details:

  1. Slim
  2. Slightly long nose
  3. If i'm not mistaken he had some acne/chicken pox scars on the face.
  4. a bit spiky hair
  5. most of his videos were a bit with low brightness and lofi
  6. The only video I can remember is him doing a Card Trick...

I've been trying to look for him, but no luck (and I'm sure I was subscribed to his channel)

can you guys help me find him?!

[Discussion] what’s everyone thoughts on vtuber asmr?

I’ve been watching asmr since like 2014. During that time I usually only listened to actual people since I really enjoyed visual. Now though I listen to mostly asmr commandingly done by vtubers. What’s everyone thoughts about this asmr by vtubers popular or small. Could be the ones with 3d models, could be the ones where it’s just the avatar and you can heard the asmr. Just the medium in general.

[Discussion] Do you prefer natural/unedited thumbnails?

Curious what everyone thinks because I've been experimenting with making my thumbnails look as professional as possible for my ASMR videos, but it seems to have the opposite effect. Is it better to be as natural as I can with thumbnails? Is that vibe more appealing?

Thank you in advance!

Biggest ASMR pet peeves [Discussion]

I was just curious what are people’s biggest pet peeves when watching or listening to ASMR content?

For me, it would have to be when people make mouth noises while also tapping or scratching or making some other kind of noise with an object.

You brought the object out to make noise, leave it at that. I don’t want to hear your soft “du du du du” noise while you’re tapping on a cup or scratching something. I wanna hear the taps and the scratches.

I try to watch “no talking” asmr to avoid this but even they do it too.

Modern ASMR [discussion]

Am I the only one that finds a lot of modern ASMR super overstimulating? I’ve been watching since 2012 and everything used to be slow, relaxed, and calming. Now it feels like every second has to be filled with nail tapping or mouth clicking or some obnoxious noise. I know there’s plenty of ASMRtists that still do it “old school” but I really hate what trendy ASMR has turned into

Meta Post - r/ASMR [discussion]

Has anyone else noticed the increase of posts on this sub that are just … negative?

I hope I don’t get dogpiled on for this , also sorry in advance for any weird formatting , I’m on mobile .

I totally understand venting or having preferences of the ASMR you consume . But why are there so many discussion type posts on here talking about things you DON’T like: pet peeves , creators or triggers you just “don’t get the hype “ about, how ASMR has changed for the worse, etc.. do we really need a new vent-type post every week? It kind of feels like pollution at this point , like people just come here to complain about ASMR.

I joined this sub because I love ASMR and I want to connect with other people who do.
Does anyone else feel this way ?

Famous ASMRtists and New, Secret Accounts [DISCUSSION]

Picture this: you stumble upon a small channel with 400 subscribers and are interested in a roleplay they have posted. They only have the lower half of their face in the thumbnail, which is of no concern to you, but 30 seconds into the video you realize....you know this voice, you catch the subtle hint of a familiar accent peaking through. You know that smile, the teeth, even the tip of the nose looks familiar....this is very much a creator you've seen before.

You scroll through their videos and find that their account is very new: just a couple handfuls of videos, all with only a portion of the person's face being shown. Still, you're confident you know exactly who this is, someone you haven't watched in years but used to enjoy. You wonder if they stopped making content and intended to start anew, but no, their massive account with hundreds of thousands of subscribers is still up and running with regular posting.

So maybe you're crazy, but you just wanna be sure and satiate your curiosity. You pull up the video from the small creator and a video from the famous creator, side by side. It doesn't take long for the voices and mouths to match up, but still, some people just look and sound alike. This could very well be a coincidence! Even the shared freckle on the chin could be sheer chance. And then you see it: a distinct mole, with the same coloring, both just slightly bigger than a pencil eraser, on the same side of both creator's necks in the same spot. You're sure of it: you've found the secret account of a famous ASMRtist.

Nothing about their profile suggests they want one account to be connected with the other, not through what they post and not through channel descriptions. You go through the comments, just to see if anyone else clocked it, but if anyone has they didn't share such information (or if they did, then he creator deleted the comments).

This is ultimately not important information, but it brings to mind an interesting dilemma for me: the ethicality of sharing this information, and the complex relationship famous creators may have with their fans.

Firstly, though I have given enough description to where there's a chance this person could be deciphered, I have no interest in being explicit with who they are. It's clear to me that, again, they have no interest in these accounts being connected or of their identity being known. Whether they care that much I couldn't say, but there's still a reason why they felt the need to make a second, secret account. It's also not like I intended to find out this information. It was almost instantaneous: only 30 seconds in with half a face, and I knew who I was watching. Again, maybe they don't care much, or maybe they wouldn't expect someone to recognize them from so little.

Which brings me to the next point: ASMRtists and their fans. Could the creation of a second account be a way to reignite creative freedom? If you're used to making certain content and have attracted an audience that expects that content, I would imagine that a pivot could be difficult as you wouldn't want to neglect, reject, or disappoint those who are supporting you. Worse, if you found yourself making "click-bait" content and are trying to move away from that, good luck. Once you take that route, there's usually no going back in regards to your reputation. And while I personally think we can expect most people to act normal, some fans can absolutely be entitled, demanding, and parasocial. I could completely understand why someone would want to step away from what they're known for even if it's just to reignite their love for their craft away from judgmental eyes.

My questions are: does creativity flow more easily when there's less expectation, less limitations, less routine, less of a persona to fulfill? Is it still fulfilling to find yourself making content you maybe don't want to make because it pays the bills and to then release the videos you actually want to make in secret? Why not choose to pivot on your already successful channel and allow for the growing pains of attracting a new audience? At what point in the development of fame in your respective field are you then paralyzed by the expectations others have of you, or in other words, when do you lose the freedom to determine who you are rather than succumb to the version of you that others have become familiar with? Could there be another reason I haven't considered for making a second, secret channel?

Would love to know your thoughts! xx

[Discussion] Unable to enjoy a creators content due to their boyfriend??? Need recommendations.

Not sure if I can name this person, so sorry for being vague, but I can’t sleep (how ironic) and it’s on my mind every time they come on my feed. If this breaks the rules, sorry, please redirect me where to post on another sub.

I can’t deny this creator’s videos are well done, but seeing her boyfriend’s content (whom she frequently posts on her page and reposts his content) made me grimace. It’s basically another one of those pseudo-‘influencers’ selling courses on how to make thousands in dropshipping, tiktok shop, etc. and boasting about having money. Shit feels crypto-adjacent which always rubs me the wrong way. Not to mention, his reposts are full of random conspiracy junk, anti-lgbt/trans sentiments, all sorts of weird nasty shit. He made several CK apologist videos. When tagged in the comments, the creator said she “absolutely hates politics” and doesn’t align with either side… which I felt was such a privileged response when your boyfriend is out here publicly politicizing both your identities (in a BAD way) and majority comments are celebrating the both of you being MAGA.

If anyone has recommendations for creators who are LGBTQ/POC friendly, please give them to me, especially if they do weird or unconventional ASMR. I already feel sad over the metaphorical loss of Angelica and despite being an OG fan of Karuna, I can’t enjoy her content anymore either for reasons everyone knows by now. :/

I get this stuff might not matter to other people but what political sentiments someone has or closely associates with WILL emotionally contaminate my ability to enjoy their content. And I’m just tired of the ‘girl with bigot boyfriend’ trope. Like, what the actual fuck?
