So Its_Bunni asmr has been unbanned (Yay!!)

Looks like Kenna got her same channel reinstated, I’m unsure if the other banned channels got theirs back but hey! It’s progress!
I’m waiting to see how she got it back, and what YouTube plans to do about the

What are your guys thoughts on the YouTube banwave? Any news from your favourites who also got affected??

Educational ASMR [Discussion]

Let me begin this by stating that I am not an ASMR artist.

I'm just a consumer.

Having watched more than my share, however, I can't help but feel as though the asmr I enjoy, which is basically long talks that simulate that feeling of hanging out with a friend, has become less popular, replaced by mouth sounds and spit cleaning, etc. But there's one kind of long talk that I don't know if I've ever seen attempted with any consistency (aside from the occasional one-off), and that's educational asmr.

Picture it, your favorite asmr whispering stories from Russian history or explaining cellular division or sharing the secrets of string theory and, just like back in school, you are drifting off trying to keep up. Not just one video but an entire course., an entire class. I love videos where the asmr artist is teaching something, where there's more value than just the other person there.

Am I alone? What would you think of educational asmr and what asmr artist would do it best? Or is someone already doing this?

[Discussion] What ASMR actually puts you to sleep?

Does anyone here listen to ASMR when you're having trouble sleeping?

What type of ASMR do you actually listen to?

Personally, I find those makeup ASMR videos with whispering really sleepy. Curious what other people listen to.

[discussion] How to tell apart fetish requests from non fetish?

I'm a new asmr content creator and i only do roleplays. I have never done any nsfw content or anything flirty. I get request sometimes for very specific things like to do a flirty kidnapper roleplay or to do a video where i show how to tie scarves (it sounds innocent ik but the way it was written made me think it might be not an innocent request), i havent done any similar content or anything fashion related and i wonder how to distinguish actual asmr trigger request from those that might be fetish related? I wonder if i am too careful and i dont want to dismiss people just wanting to have their favorite trigger shown or if it is better to be cautious?

update: thank you to everyone who replied!! i really appreciate it, because as a new creator i'm still not great at establishing boundaries, but you guys have helped me see that i can just fully not do anything at the cost of my comfort. I will not be engaging with any of the comments that set off any alarms in my head. Also i appreciate the more specific advice on how to tell the requests apart better!! Thank you!!!

I had a little idea for supporting and connecting ASMR creators ♡ [discussion]

I've been thinking about how difficult it can be for smaller ASMR channels to get discovered — and honestly, it's also surprisingly difficult as a viewer to find smaller creators you actually enjoy.

So I created a little YouTube channel called ASMR Love with a slightly different idea:

♡ ASMR Love is meant to be a little ASMR discovery & networking hub.

I don't reupload anyone's videos and I don't want to take anything away from the original creator. Your video stays on your own channel, with your own views, watch time and revenue.

The idea is simply to use YouTube's Collab feature to connect ASMR creators and make it easier for viewers to discover new channels and creators they might otherwise never come across.

How it works

If you'd like to participate:

Upload your ASMR video normally on your own YouTube channel.

Use YouTube's Collab feature and invite ASMR Love as a collaborator.

Send me the Collab invitation/link at asmrloveyt@outlook.com so I can accept it.

That's it! ♡

You don't have to upload anything to ASMR Love, and I'm not asking for permission to reupload your videos.

ASMR Love doesn't make any income from this. There are no fees and I'm not asking for anything in return. I just thought it could be a nice way to connect ASMR creators and make discovering new channels easier for everyone.

And this isn't only for small or underrated channels...

If you're an ASMRtist and you'd like to connect with other creators and be part of this little discovery network, you're very welcome to invite ASMR Love as a collaborator — regardless of how big or small your channel is. 💚

Whether you're brand new, have a small growing channel, or already have an established audience, everyone is welcome.

👉 ASMR Love: https://youtube.com/@asmr\_iove

📩 Collab invitations: asmrloveyt@outlook.com

I'd genuinely love to see how many creators we can connect through this little experiment and whether we can build a small ASMR discovery network together. ♡

[Meta] AI videos

I recently came across this subreddit and I'm seeing some AI slop, low-effort videos being spammed here. Is there not going to be a rule against that?

[discussion] What are your comfort triggers?

I’ve been lurking for a while now trying to understand what draws people in. There’s been a lot of talk about the tiktokification of ASMR, it feeling cold and gimmicky at times. So I’m curious, what is your comfort trigger? The thing(s) that always brings you back, gives you comfort etc etc. What’s your preferred video length?

For context, I’m a sound designer, full time audiobook narrator and lifelong audio nerd. I’m creating a channel of immersive, relaxing audios (I’ll likely be talking softly rather than whispering) under a different name with both binaural and mono audios. And I’m trying to understand what it is about certain triggers - and what those are - that deeply affect people.

If you could craft a channel just for you, what would you include (or exclude)?

Ultra-professional ASMR freaks me out [Discussion]

ASMR just doesn't work if it's too clinical, it becomes inorganic, something optimized for the highest profits.

Seeing the Jojo's "White Noise" corporation everywhere freaks me out. Dozens of creators suddenly all have the same mic if not the same room. It sucks the soul out of ASMR. It lacks the cozy human energy that soothes my own soul. No, I don't want to have a corporation whisper to my ears.

I hate the word "ASMR University". Makes me feel like some capitalist industry has taken a firm hold of ASMR's balls and is trying to manufacture new professional ASMRtists like clockwork. As if the perfect ASMR had a logical formula to it.

I'd seriously compare the feeling I get from less professional creators to a hug from a friend, and the feeling I get from ultra-professional creators to a hug from a person I paid myself to hug me. No warmth, just this emptiness. Sure they're doing things right mechanically, but it's like there's nobody home inside.

Professional ASMR freaks me TF out! I'm glad new creators appear on my feed all the time, and that so many known ones are still lovely.

What's the first video you watched/first time you stumbled upon ASMR? [Discussion]

I have the fondest memory of being maybe like 13 or so watching YouTube. Then I found a video of somebody "fake" making tiny foods in a tiny kitchen with real noises, albeit super soft. I'm not sure if it was truly meant to be ASMR, and I have really unfortunately not been able to find their channel again. But it started this whole experience for me and I am grateful.

Why I think Jojo asmr ruined asmr [discussion]

Hello everyone, I would like to share my raw opinion on Jojo asmr. Ever since he became popular about 3-4 years ago, I have seen a huge downfall in asmr. He, in my opinion, has "tiktokifed" asmr and inspired others to do so. I recently saw some of my favorite asmrtists at asmr university (e.g. Lowe asmr, Rynsey asmr) and ever since that about a month ago their asmr has felt much more like his than before. Even before that, their asmr has felt more like tiktokified and it makes me really sad. I wanted to expand on my opinion bc I wrote a comment on someone else's post on this subject. Do you guys agree? I hate this style of short form content and it has taken away the beauty and creativity of asmr and I think it started with Jojo.

[Discussion] Looking for recommendations for specific types of ASMR

Hi all. So I'm looking for either ASMR creators or specific videos that focus on some specific things, would greatly appreciate anyone who could help!

  • Gentle/light touch
  • Slow touch/normal speed (anything but fast)
  • Long nails or tools (e.g. brushes, chopsticks etc)
  • Focusing on nape of neck/scalp/face/forehead/upper back
  • Whisper/soft spoken

Something similar to creators like Calm Moon ASMR, Friends With ASMR, emvy ASMR etc. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheetah Velvet ASMR making... strangely charged roleplays [Discussion]

Has anyone heard of this channel? I initially got into her because she would make some videos in Hindi/Urdu, which is my first language, and a bit niche, so I found it relaxing. She would also satirize certain aspects of Indian culture, like overbearing mother-in-laws, which hey, as her being an Indian is all in good fun.

However, lately she has been making some really strange roleplays. If you look at the most recent videos in the channel, you'll see what I mean: https://www.youtube.com/@CheetahVelvetASMR/videos

Even though she is not an Arab, Pakistani, or Muslim, she continues to make roleplays around themes like, "You broke Sharia law." Although in the videos, she puts a disclaimer that this is under the guise of 'raising awareness' of these issues, frankly it feels like a caricature, putting on an accent and playing into extreme stereotypes, similar to what Angelica ASMR has done since going off the deep end, and the way she interacts with viewers in the comments enforces this. Under the video entitled "You got adopted by a strict Arab family," she commented:

"there is NO such thing as ordinary Muslim The people you’re calling extremists actually 100% follow the Quran & Hadith . And the less crazy ones, just pick and choose what they want so they’re seen as “ordinary”."

I found this pretty disappointing to read and ultimately unsubscribed from the channel :( Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion but not exactly the kind of thing I want to listen to when I'm trying to relax. Wondering if anyone else has a perspective on this channel or whether I'm making something out of nothing

I’m worried my family think that ASMR is sexual after finding out I watch it. [discussion]

So long story short- my YouTube is still logged into my parents tv at home. They got curious last night I guess and went through my YouTube. 😬 I watch ASMR frequently and have since I was like 13. It’s literally been the only thing to help me calm down and relax so effectively, which is a life since I have OCD and AdHD. I know what ASMR is, and what the purpose of it is, but I’m very embarrassed since the ASMR that works the best for me can come off as slightly “sensual” to someone who doesn’t know why it is. I listen to mouth sounds mostly (controversial trigger I know), and trigger words. I don’t know why it works so well for me but it does. Anyways my niece sent me a video of my ENTIRE FAMILY going through my YouTube and watching this to see what it was. By entire family I mean my mom, dad, my niece, and my GRANDMOTHER. All of them watching a video of a girl doing up close mouth sounds to a microphone. They’re also hella conservative so I know they’re clutching their pearls. I am 10000% sure they think it’s sexual. Ughhhhh😭 how do i explain myself. Mind you though, I am a 22 year old woman so it’s kinda on them for getting nosey and going through my shit.
