A New Atlético Legend Is Born 🔴⚪️

💣🚨 History has been made at the Metropolitano!

Jorge Domínguez, at just 16 years and 241 days old, has become the youngest-ever player to make his first-team debut for Atlético Madrid, breaking Koke’s previous record of 16 years and 307 days. 🔴⚪️

His impressive performances during pre-season convinced Diego Simeone, who placed his trust in the young right-back and gave him his first-team debut.

And the crazy part? 😂🐐
When Domínguez was born, Koke had only recently joined Atlético’s first-team squad.

What a moment for the academy. A new name has officially entered Atlético Madrid history.

Remember the name: Jorge Domínguez. ❤️🤍

“There were some isolated chants from a very specific section of the fans insulting Julián Alvarez…”. Simeone: “I’m very respectful toward our people”.

Most expensive incoming Atletico transfers

Note that the Diego Costa transfer listed here was his 2nd stint with us, the one where he was bad and slow and generally useless

I can see the big 3 Cuti Pubill and Hancko being the best defenders this season but let’s not forget him let him get fit again and watch.

Atlético Madrid are stunned! They can't believe the information coming out of Argentina about Julián.

Atlético de Madrid are very surprised by the accusation from some Argentine media outlets, such as ESPN, which claim that the club itself encouraged Julián Álvarez to publicly express his desire to leave. "The best thing for everyone is a transfer; I want to fulfill my dream," he said at the time.

[Cadena SER] Julián Álvarez admits error in handling Barça transfer links and reaffirms commitment to Atlético

https://cadenaser.com/nacional/2026/08/13/julian-alvarez-ya-no-esconde-a-sus-companeros-que-se-ha-equivocado-con-la-gestion-de-su-fichaje-por-el-fc-barcelona-cadena-ser/

Amid the ongoing saga, currently stalled, of FC Barcelona's interest in Julián Álvarez, the Argentine striker seems to have begun to accept his new situation. As Miguel Martín Talavera explained on 'El Larguero', the forward "no longer hides from his teammates in the locker room that he made a mistake," both in substance and especially in how he handled everything related to the Catalan club's interest.

It's news because, until now, Julián Álvarez hadn't acknowledged this to his teammates. He hadn't put it into words. "He's spoken with his teammates," Talavera explains, "and told them that his commitment to the shirt is total and that, for however long he has left at Atlético de Madrid, whether it's a year, three, or two days... the club comes before everything else."

In this regard, Talavera explains that this revelation from the Argentine striker "wipes away any possible act of rebellion," as had been speculated if the club had blocked his desired move to Barça. "He has spoken with his teammates in the last few hours, told them that his commitment to Atlético is above all else, and acknowledges that he made a mistake, particularly in his approach and the way he expressed himself," he adds.

However, the journalist who covers Atlético Madrid also points out that this doesn't mean Julián no longer wants to leave Madrid: "I don't think that, just because of this, he woke up today and suddenly didn't want to leave Atlético. I'm not saying that because I don't know if that's the case." What has happened is that the Argentine, given the impasse in his situation and the fact that the weeks keep passing, "is now clear that he won't be transferred to FC Barcelona."

"I think he's getting closer to changing his mind," Talavera explains, "considering the criticism he might face in the first few matches at the Metropolitano and that it won't be easy." For all these reasons, Julián is beginning to understand that his future lies "more with Atlético de Madrid than anywhere else."

I believe that we have a good squad this year and if Alvarez stays, we can genuinely win a trophy this year!!
