Hello, everyone! First time posting here, so I'm hoping I can make a bit of a fun first impression. I'm a SWTOR roleplayer, and these are (some of) my characters.

The journal entry you see there -- written on the left in aurebesh and on the right in normal Latin letters -- is Nushzad's reflections on the state of her homeworld: Tesifon, a homebrew world in the depths of wild space. It's a vast project of war and political intrigue and religious devotion, all inspired by the epic the Shahnameh.

Some new backgrounds I made!

I've seen the clan Kast sigil (last photo) but I think this sigil is unique to her. The one on her right looks a bit like Death Watch but not exact. I've been trying to find a better photo of it online to make a cool patch or something, or even just learn more about what it is, but am having no luck. Let me know if you have any ideas of what her sigils are/could mean!!

First of, why download via limewire? Makes me feel old.
Because I don't want to make another account, anywhere at all, just to share this, and I want my privacy. But, means the code is openly visible to anyone. Also sadly means, the file vanishes in 7 days. If anyone got a different way, you're free to download and share it how you see fit. If you send me the link here on Reddit, I'd include it in the post. Or post it yourself again, it's free use really. Maybe I'll reupload it after 7 days if I see there's interest and no solution has been found.

So what is Glyphkeep? Glyphkeep is a purely html based, platform independent app that lets you learn to read Aurebesh in a rather comfortable way; by replacing individual Latin letters in a book with the equivalent Aurebesh Glyph. You can literally adjust the exact degree of difficulty on the fly. From none, to all of them, one by one over time if you so choose.

All you need for that are two things: an Aurebesh font file(there's a ton out there, aurebesh.org has one to download, I myself use a different one. It's really up to you), and an ebook in EPUB format. I do not encourage the illegal download of copyrighted material, nor the removal of DRM features from books you purchased a licence for, at the same price as the paperback book. My friend Anna told me that's a BAD BAD thing. That said, there are also a lot of common use ebooks out there freely available.

You can change the exact glyphs that are swapped for each book you have in the library individually, and get the percentage of how much of the total glyphs in the book that actually translates into. I added buttons for automatically adding both capital and small letters, but also common diagraphs, numbers and punctuation that some fonts support. If there is any character missing, you can freely add that as well and if the font supports them, they'll get swapped. Be aware, the percentage calculation gives you more than 100% if you add diagraphs, but that has no effect besides showing a higher number. I also added the feature to horizontally flip capital letters if the font you use does not have that on its own and you want it. Very few have.

The whole app runs on pure html, and maybe some javascript. I wouldn't know, it's a vibe code project coded by Claude with me just giving orders on what to do, so if someone wants to check the code and adapt it, go for it. Got close to zero coding experience of my own and have no plans on furthering this or updating it. I don't see this as my creation besides the ideas, so you can do what you want with it, just credit this post 😅

In the main settings you'll find a backup and import function. The app writes into IndexedDB storage, which seems to not have 100% clear persistence conditions. So my recommendation, use the full backup on every closure of the app religiously and save the file somewhere on your device. I myself ride piggyback on the iCloud file app, having a two tap cloud sync without needing API access.

Now the most important question by everyone having downloaded the file and seeing it's not an "app" in the usual sense of the word, how do you even open this?
You open the html in any browser that still supports viewing local html. No problemo on desktop, but on mobile devices this can get tricky. On iOS as of now, I'm only aware of Edge still supporting it.

I hope this is as helpful to anyone wanting to learn reading Aurebesh as it was to me. In theory, you can learn any alphabet of any conlang, or existing languages for that matter, as long as you got a font that treats Latin characters as ones of that alphabet.
