Do I really need an infant car seat?

FTM due end of November and deciding between getting an infant car seat or just going straight to a convertible car seat. The cons would be that it won’t attach to my stroller and baby would need to be moved in/out, but is that really a big deal? I could see myself preferring to remove baby rather than the car seat anyway..but maybe I’m naive in thinking that? Biggest pro would be the money, of course. I ordered the Silver Cross Cove 2 stroller (infant safe from birth with the bassinet and lay flat seat). I live in a house in the suburbs so there really wouldn’t be a need to remove the car seat.

Thoughts? TIA!

Do not buy

If you are looking to add complication and expense to your life, buy an UPPABABY stroller. Some “engineer” aka an idiot created this monstrosity. You won’t realize it right away - with one baby, you’ll feel like it’s an “investment” and “drives well” and “can expand to hold two babies” and you’ll picture cute family walks with iced coffees in hand. Once the second one comes, it all changes.

First, with the configuration they sell, they put the new baby on the bottom. You want to see the child that hasn’t been on earth for more than 3 days? Too bad. You’re worried about them breathing? Or the bumps? Or the sun? Not their problem.

Second, you want to turn it into two? No problem … it will only cost you the same amount as the base stroller itself.

Third, it’s unclear on the difference between toddler and rumble seat. They basically hold the same size kid and whatever one you don’t have is the one you need. That’ll be $300 for the seat, $90 for attachments, $60 for infant snug seat. Hey, new family with two kids, cough it up!

Fourth, “great resell value”… really..? Check your local Facebook Marketplace, see that 600 people are trying to sell theirs based on comments above, and then tell me how much you’re able to get for it.

Crock, crock, crock. And before you say “you should have read the website” - any stroller that requires a novel of instructions, caveats, and is preying and profiting off of excited first-time moms or ‘we’re already too far in’ second time moms as we battle low on sleep, enlarged boobs, screaming toddlers should be absolutely ashamed.

Go mockingbird, Graco, literally ANY OTHER STROLLER.
