When the motor is disconnected there is no resistance, I bought a new controller and swapped it out, and same issue, how do I get the motor hub open to see if any wires are loose, now also getting a E10 error code
750W BBS02, 48V 20AH. Donor bike is an oldie-but-goodie B.R.C. Gonzo 26" wheel MTB, very light steel with deore exage components, no shocks, cantilever brakes with V-brake levers 😱, $40 at thrift store.
40km/hr cruise, 50 max. Range 80km+ mixed riding including hard throttle. Half-length twist throttle. Programmed 5 levels: 1,2,3 = slow, moderate, brisk pedaling. 4,5 = 80% or 100% power, suitable for fast throttle riding. New 7 speed Shimano cassette, I find I mostly use speed 5 and 6.
My second build (the first was stolen). Over 1800km later I'm still smiling.
The blue straps around the battery are just extra reinforcement.
I’ve had my Wrath for 9-months now, & yes, it is a nice bike… But, I’m looking to make it faster.
After spending some time & a lot of forum reading, I’ve finally found out that replacing the digital control does Jack shit & messing around with the guts inside the frame can render the bike useless.
Today I made a breakthrough & have discovered something called a “Badass Box” specifically for Bafang hub motors which can trick the sensor into thinking the bike isn’t going fast enough when it reaches a certain speed.
(Something along those lines)
There are two different kits available…
One works off of a sensor on the Chain-stay -
The other works of a sensor on the rear Dropout.
It’s well hidden as I can’t figure out where it is & until I do I’m unable to purchase the right Badass Box for it? I’ve tried everywhere online but even the Claud Butler website is about as useless as tits on a flashlight?!
Are there any CB Wrath owners or bike mechanics that can clear this up for me?
I have a rough idea which one it is but I’m not 100%
Thanks in advance! 🤙
Hello everyone!
As per title, are all Bafang sensors (Brake sensors, shift sensor, speed sensor,...) interchangeable between their UART and CANbus protocol?
Can I just grab a random one of the net without worrying if its gonna compatible or not?
I tried searching online but I didn't find a definitive answer
Thank you everyone!
I have a bafang bbs02B motor and the shell casing has cracked. Even after sending it to a professional to weld it cracked again. I cannot seem to find a replacement anywhere online besides the bbs02 replacement. I want to know if I could use the bbs02 outer shell to replace my bbs02 shell.
Does anybody had this problem? Any solutions? Thanks!
Hi everyone, I am trying to replace the entire spindle/axle assembly on my Bafang BBS02B mid-drive motor because the teeth on the large axle gear are broken.
I’ve successfully disassembled the drive side (where the chainring is), but I’m stuck on the non-drive side, which you can see in the attached photo.
On YouTube tutorials, I saw that people usually remove a snap ring around the square spindle using long-nose or snap-ring pliers. However, mine looks different. As indicated by the red arrow in the photo, the area around the spindle appears to be sealed with rubber.
What is the correct way to disassemble this part? What step am I missing here?
Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
hi I have an above kit I use with a 48v battery the controller only lists as a 48v on the label. I have another 52v battery I use on a 52v bike I would like to use it if possible on this kit for extended range, is there a danger or will it be fine? I have read and answers in both directions. thank you.
