This is my 2nd similar setup, first had no issues. Everything works on the default settings in terms of assist levels and speeds (3 PAS options and 5).

When I try to update the settings in the Bafang Go app, it seems to cut max power to ~23kph in all modes. The only way I seem to be able to make a change is to go back to factory settings in the app.

I've got the max speed set to 40 kph through the display, wheel size set, no error codes, and the speed / wheel size is reflected in the app correctly as well.

Am I missing something?

If your display only has 5 pedal assist levels, you need to configure the software like this:

I just wanted to post this here incase someone else runs into the same frustrating issues I had, where I was programming modes 1-5 only, and the power/speed limits were not being respected.

It looks like Bafang is designed to work strictly on a 9 PAS display, so this was the workaround

Ive been driving an e bike with an m510 bafang motor. I was driving up a vert steep hill and it was going fine. So I was in first gear and 4th level of support but then the chain jumped off the cog and the display went off. I place the chain back on again but the system wouldn't turn on. I checked the battery voltage and it should be fine..what could be the issue?

I've been running my converted bike with the BBS02 for years and I've been really happy. But ebikes are only allowed with a maximum power of 250w, so now I wanted to apply those limits to my bike.

I got the programming cable and followed a written guide on the internet. I only changed the current limit from 24A to 5A. After writing those changes, the motor doesn't spin up at all anymore. When I put in the 24A limit, it behaves normally again.

Do you guys have any idea why that happens? I thought that other options don't have to be changed, since they all work on percentages from the overall current limit that's been set.

Recently got a bbs02 CAN version first time with a CAN motor I have the ekd01 display.

I can access menu and use 2020 code to change speed limit, I can press power and plus and switch between limited and non limited but no matter what I do I can never get past 25km/h even when my menu and display show 99km/h I only ever get to 25km/h?

I’m currently building a custom cargo bike from the ground up and I’m at a crossroads with the drivetrain. I’m using a Bafang M315 (MM G340.250.C, 48V/250W) mid-drive. It’s the newer CAN-bus variant, which I’ve used on several builds and really like for its reliability.

The Goal:
I want to pair this with a Rohloff Speedhub, but because I’m routing all my brake lines and wiring internally through the frame, I really want to avoid the mess of mechanical shift cables. The Rohloff E14 2.0 electric shifter is the dream—it would make for a much cleaner build.

I know Rohloff recently released the E-14 2.0 DS BAFANG, but documentation is sparse for installing with the Bafang motor. Specifically:

1. My M315 has the dedicated 3-pin yellow shift sensor plug. Is this compatible with the product?

2. Does the 3-pin shift port on the Bafang provide enough juice to power the E14 actuator?

Any insights from the Rohloff/Bafang experts here?

Can anyone recommend a chainring and cassette for flat ground commuting on a 29 in rim bike with the 750w midrive kit?

I'm trying to strike a balance between chain line and reasonable gearing.

I figure it's not best to have a tiny cog on the rear as your max speed as it would wear out very quickly

Can you please share your tune (screenshot or file)? I'm really having a hard time getting it to ride the way I want.

Speed limits and power per assist level aren't being respected, not sure what I'm doing wrong.

hi guys, im doing a custom modification for the motor and i've been kind of struggling to get the correct measurements of the nylon/steel rotor shaft pair. it seems like 20 degree helical, 1,5 module, 9t/32t, 18mm/53.6mm OD. but it seems there is some profile shift going on, since the outer diameter is supposed to be significantly different from what i measured.

if you have any more precise info on these gears or any cad models related to the motor they would be appreciated

I am planning a custom build for a emtb and have some questions.

The frame is a Light Carbon LCE28 that fits the Bafang m620. I was quoted $1033 USD shipped for unpainted. Seemed a bit high? I was expecting 700$ or so.

Is the 620 the best, current and most powerful mid drive motor available? I haven’t seen the 630 for sale anywhere, and I hear that it isn’t reliable. Is that true ? Or should I be looking for that motor instead? Would it still fit that frame? Should I be looking for UART or Canbus for the 620/630 motor? I know UART can be programmed more easily, but canbus is newer? I don’t need to tinker too much with programming but I’d like to unlock the top speed and maybe adjust power assist levels. What are good prices for these motors and where can they be found? I would be shipping to California.

Hi guys, Looking for a little help, My bbs02 has started acting strange, when I'm riding the motor cuts out after a few turns of the pedals, the display stays on with no error codes, I need to turn the display off and on to get it running again and the same thing happens.
