International Voter Drive 2026, for dual U.S.-Korean citizens and other U.S. citizens in South Korea

Hi- I'd like to make an announcement from Democrats Abroad, the official overseas branch of the U.S.-based Democratic Party with a chapter in South Korea. Since an extremely important election is coming in November, we're hoping to register more dual U.S.-Korean citizens and other eligible U.S. voters who live in South Korea.

We started our International Voter Registration Drive for 2026 with in-person and online events. If you know any eligible US citizens, they can register and request a ballot. Just send them this link: https://voteabroad.org/RedditVote26. As long as they'll turn 18 by election day, they're eligible.

If anyone wishes to learn more about what we're doing near you, you can find out more at https://www.democratsabroad.org/kr. We have regular in-person meetups and events online. If you have any questions about overseas voting or what we do, feel free to ask in the comments below.

Baguio by myself... to go or not to go...

Hey everyone, I really wanted to go to Baguio maybe after the Habagat clears up. Preferrably Saturday to Monday. Aiming to stay at Camp John Hay accomodations.

So for background, I have been driving mainly towards south almost everyday for two years now, passing thru SLEX or Skyway. Now, I wanted to go to Baguio by myself using my own car (PHEV so no problem with power/range anxiety), just to escape the everyday work insanity.

So the question is, can I do it? I mean I am familiar with the roads going there (most likely mukhang Marcos Hiway lang naman madadaanan ko soon -- and many times na rin ako nakapag drive there but with parents) but this will be the first time I'll do it myself. Has anyone here been there na ikaw lang via driving? Care to share any tips? Hacks? Haha

Also planning it to do in daylight like starting at 5 am from Southwoods.

TIA!

Best Investment this Rainy Season

This is for people na basa padin ang damit at may molds na sa bahay.

I recommend this compressor type dehumidifier from condura or any dehumidifier as long as compressor type.

Dryer Recommendation

Hello, can you recommend a reliable dryer na reasonably priced (super mahal ng LG and Samsung tho I know trusted sila 🥹) kasi halos di na makapaglaba talaga.

Also, Is the 2-in-1 washer and dryer goods din and more economical, or better mag dryer nalang kung yun lang kailangan?

p.s. i need a dryer that totally dries the clothes. ty!

p.p.s. Saan po naka sale na appliances now?

Watershed

Hehe. Last time, may tarpaulin dyan showing the proposed project. Nakakaloka laaaaang.

Anyone here who has a Maya Black Credit Card?

Asking if they accept this credit card in SM Baguio Supermarket or Puregold Bakakeng?

FYI: This card doesn't have a card number, expiry date, and cvv printed on the card. They sometimes call this numberless card as part of their security features.

Asking for user experience because I've read a post in the blue app where it was rejected because it doesn't have a card number - somewhere, not in Baguio.

Taking a gap year to work in a BPO here in Baguio?

Just realized that hindi masyadong prepared ang family namin for college ko, so I'm taking a gap year muna. Is it recommended to work in a BPO here muna para maka save for the meantime since I have 1 year pa naman? Or is the BPO here really as toxic as they say and you recommend another industry to work in.

Ano dead giveaway ng dog meat?

From experience or exposure nyo (no judgment) and educational purposes, pano malaman dog meat yong pagkain from taste alone? If you can't distinguish it by sight, pano masabi by taste or may distinct smell ba? And if by sight, how can you tell? Please describe them like i'm 5 and really dumb at this. May difference pag hindi pa na luto, na luto, at ginawang ingredient? Is it served as is ala watwat o may dishes? Ano common way pagka luto? May igado ba na dog meat?

For context, immersing deep into the Igorot culture means getting invited everywhere. I don't want to offend my hosts and judge their way of life at the same time I want to be able to tell and come up with excuses if the situation calls for it. Ngayon ko lang din naisipan may dishes ba only the insiders know? Di nya sinabi, di ko din tinanong at mukhang regular ulam lang naman so I took the offer until another kasama pointed it out and warned me. That was years ago. Di ko na matandaan how it looks o smell, I just remember I almost consumed dog meat. Kong hindi din ako sinabihan i'm sure I wouldn't be able to figure it out myself.
