Black Deck Apology

I’ve played the game for a while now, across all platforms I’m nearing 1000hrs. I initially just played casually, jumped around decks, tried harder stakes every once in a while, but mostly just played the game.

Then it hit me: I realized I didn’t have a decent amount of jokers because I wasn’t doing challenges, so I did them. Then I started chipping at Steam achievements while trying to gold stake every deck, starting at red, and going down the line.

I’m now on black. I thought everyone complaining that black deck sucks was just a baby. Now I’m in the middle of stakes and I want the sweet release of death.

With that, I’m sorry for silently judging so many of you as I am now what I judged.

Trying to pitch Balatro to a professional poker player

Hey guys, I’m a stand-up comedian and Balatro addict (91% to C++). I recently appeared on a comedy poker show called The Fold alongside three-time WSOP bracelet winner and YouTube poker personality Doug Polk. I was trying to spread the good word of Jimbo and did a pretty bad job explaining the game. I will continue to bug Doug to play it on stream just out of my own personal desire to watch a poker pro play the game for the first time. I will report back with any updates.

Help getting to ante 12

Checkered deck with flush upgraded to 440x58

-hanging chad is +10

-wrathful is wrathful

-supernova is + mid 40's I think? I hate that I can't know

-Juggler is +10 and obviously giving me an extra hand so not sure I should give that up

-Jolly is +8 and x1.5

Hologram is negative and x5.75

I've never made it through ante 12 and hoping to do so here. I started playing this last night and was several vodkas deep but I'm pretty sure one HAND got me 12 million. Also pretty sure I had a couple steel cards in hand with a glass scoring first but of course I can't expect that to happen again. Sell wrathful and have blueprint copy Hologram? Sell chad and do the same? I will post my full deck below as I apparently can't post 2 pics here. Thank you for your help.

Now what?

A couple years ago I found Balatro. Instantly fell in love. Hooked. Addicted. Had me by the cojones. Dumped a ton of time into it, decided I wanted to 100%.

Got a little burnt out because that grind was a bit ridiculous, but still found joy in popping it open a few times a week as I went for all of the gold stickers.

Eventually did it- 100%.

This was probably the best game I’ve ever played, but it’s done. Finished it 6 months ago. Been struggling to find another game worth playing. Getting older with less time to play games. Liked the semi-idle aspect. Achievement difficulty was perfect. Loop had just enough variety. I probably don’t have to explain all of that to y’all- you know.

But, now what? What are your favorite non-Balatro games?
