London instructor reqs?
Instructor reqs for London? Specifically Canary Wharf or London East, but willing to travel if there’s a can’t miss trainer?

Love the workouts but does anyone experience these too? I've tried different shoes and keep running into the same issues.
What do people do to prevent this? Possibly thinking I might need a real 5 minute warmup and cooldown of the calf/heel/hamstrings but the classes feel like a factory at times don't know exactly what is best. I'm surprised more people don't run into this issue?
I had gone to Barry's religiously for at least a decade but slowed down a lot this past year (finally got good ol' regular gym membership). I looked at the schedule recently and was overwhelmed like Who are all these people??
Everyone who's been teaching at Barry's for at least a year, I'm already familiar with. But does anyone have any favorite new instructors that they really like?
90% of the time I go to Castro and Burlingame. Sometimes I go to FiDi. If I have the time, I go to the Marina & Palo Alto. Occasionally I even make it to Santana Row. Walnut Creek is too far. So yes, looking for general NorCal recommendations.
I know this is a “first world problem” but it is so annoying when people do not flip their mats or wipe down their treads after each round.
Instructors used to remind people but also noticed they no longer do it. It’s not just the Castro location in SF either.
It takes 5 seconds out of your life to do it & wish more people would be more considerate to their fellow Barrys fam.
I’m trying to decide what fitness tracker makes the most sense for Barry’s specifically, and I’d love to hear what everyone here actually uses and how you use it during class.
A few things I’m looking for:
- Ideally wear it for the entire class, including the floor/weights portion.
- I’d like reliable heart rate, workout and calorie tracking.
Ideally it would also track sleep, recovery, steps/general activity, etc.
- I don’t love the look of an Apple Watch but it it’s the best option I’m open to it
Thank you!!
Does this class include running? The 7:25am one? I’m a bit confused as it doesn’t say “RUN” on the title.
I feel like this is marginally better than last week, but these $20 credits don’t go very far and result in even more out of pocket costs.
I found socks for $14, but free shipping is for orders of $75 or more. Standard shipping is $7.95.
Even with the $20 credit for the Barry’s shop, I don’t really see the incentive to complete this challenge as compared to others I’ve seen in the past.
These babies just dropped and of course my grubby little hands were too late! Help! Looking for a Small & Medium! Can a US studio ship to a residential address?
Anyone know what the prize will be?
I’m going to Chicago for my birthday and plan on taking a class in River North. Who would you recommend I take a class with? I’m more deterred by a bad playlist than mediocre programming. Would love to start my birthday with a high energy class. TIA!
I started going to Barrys after classes were cut to 50 minutes and lately, i cant help but to feel too rushed and slightly short changed.
Seems like the whole fast transitions is about squeezing more in because of the lack of time. Switching to floor to tred twice (90 sec each round) takes up 4-5 minutes of total class time then warm up cool down- 5 minutes. How much actual work are we getting? How did classes differ when they were a full 60 minutes?
Did folks see his rant about the Barry’s contract? Also my god is he irritating.
Hi all, I'm looking to book my first class at Castro sf and wanted recommendations for coaches who would be good for first timers. For context, I don't run and honestly dreading that part but thought it would be good to challenge myself. Which class should I take? And any advice? Thank you!
Can’t load floorplan without app crashing. Not sure if app issue or because I’m running iOS beta?
Today was the third class that I could keep up with all of the beginner speeds. The first class it happened was with an instructor I had never had before, so assumed she did an easier class. Second time, I thought I was getting lucky twice in a row with do-able classes. Today I realized it may not be luck, I think I'm just able to keep up!
I know I'm just hitting beginner speeds, but for someone who was creeping up on 300 lbs as a 5'6 woman who couldn't jog for 30 seconds, this made me want to cry mid-class. I've still got a ways to go (some more weight to lose, plus now I've got to aim for those intermediate speeds!), but wanted to shout out this community for being so supportive (plus I was so excited about this, but felt weird talking about it in real life lol). The instructors I've had have all been phenomenal, and all the fist bumps and good jobs from the regulars (ie those in much better shape than mean) mean so much.
To everyone who feels too slow, too out of shape, too whatever... go anyways! It sucks for a bit, but being able to look back on how far you've come is the best feeling. And once you realize that, you realize that there is so much you can do that you once thought was impossible.
Hi! Calling all South Asians in the D.C. metro area, come take a Bollywood-themed class in the Navy Yard studio on Saturday, August 15th at 1:05pm! And calling all Barry's clients, especially our Navy Yard regulars (why don't we have a flair?), who want to experience South Asian culture: this one's for you too, and what better time than during the Hit Your Stride challenge?
There will be complimentary South Asian food (pani puri lol) after class, plus a cold plunge! Tell all your friends to sign up and book on the Barry's app :)
Monday will be my 25 weeks at Barry’s, so I thought it was a good enough time to check out my progress!
Weight has only recently gone down about 5 lbs. Up until recently the scale hadn’t changed at all. To recap, I was bursting out of a size 10 (I think I was more realistically a size 12, I just refused to buy new pants at that point) and now am a comfy size 6! I can do pushups, dead hang for a minute straight, and do a front split - all things I could never do before in my life.
At the end of April I started booking all of my classes as DF. I go to Barry’s 3x a week, I do hot yoga 1-2 times a week, and I try to walk 30 mins outside most days. I work HARD in class. I try to lift heavy and rep until failure. I don’t bring my phone inside and I don’t waste any time during transitions. Basically, I’m using up every single minute in there!
Barry’s has officially stuck with me, and I can’t wait to see how heavy I can lift by the end of 1 year 🙂
i follow a former instructor who shared this (video is kinda long). seems like a bummer and hope it doesn’t push out my fave instructors
