Am I not working out properly?
My shoulder hurts. I don’t know if I pulled something but it’s just my right shoulder.
I’ve never really done HIIT workouts before, so am I supposed to feel this way or what’s going on. I’m only on my 8th class.

Was on the treadmill before class stretching and I look over and make eye contact with the next closest person (about 10 treads away). She gasps, does a little wave and mouths something at me, I look around because I’m confused af, and then she pulls out her phone and takes a pic of me mid-stretch. There was absolutely no one around me so I’m pretty positive that it was me that she was taking a picture of. I assumed that maybe she mistook me for a friend/coworker but then she made no effort to interact with me during transitions or after class. So strange, hope she enjoys the lovely picture she has of me doing a groin stretch lolol
I always start on floor and just moved to ny and noticed most people start on tread here first, I’ve often been moved to tread for round 1 since I was the only one. Just curious why this is nyc specific haha
How?! This has to be an accounting fluke, right? An AI hack?😳 I was late getting started on tackling my challenge due to work and knocked out day 2 today. I feel humbled!🫠
Title pretty much says it all. Barry’s has been so great for me to gain upper body strength but now I’m stuck. Every time I go to pick up 25lb weights for the bench press they seem SO heavy and just untenable. I use the 25s for single arm rows and they are hard but good. Do I go for it or is there something else I can be doing to make the transition feel not so intense and impossible? The 20s do feel too easy at this point (I don’t get sore and can do a lot of them). Thanks for any insight!
Favorite Barry’s instructor made playlists on Spotify? Looking for good gym / running mixes :)
Does Barry’s offer a university student discount? Or other discounts for students/young professionals. I know Equinox and Soulcycle have partnerships, so curious if your studio does as well.
Just curious, do instructors need to hit a certain instagram follower amount? Overheard by a front desker this week about an instructor possibly purchasing followers so wondering if that’s a requirement for them?
Prize photos are up! What do you think — are you going to get a bag or take the gift card?
It’s only day 4. Are people taking multiple classes? And how? I want to be one of those people who can crush 3 classes a day
Well I did it. Not with the intention of getting stronger or faster but just to see if I could. Takeaways are there’s really no point. I went pretty much 8/10 or more in each with no modifications. 6 recovery and 10-12 sprints with a few 60 second ones. Realistically a double is plenty or even a go-for-broke single.
6’4, 180 ish, 10% bf.
I have a window of time on my next trip to SF to do a Thursday morning class in the Castro studio. Either run and lift with Erin or lift with Sully (same time). Do you recommend trying the Lift class? I’ve made decent progress on treads so I don’t do a ton of DF’ing anymore in my DC studio. I like to build in that cardio. So I’m leaning toward the run x lift with Erin. But was wondering if anyone strongly recommends trying the lift class with Suvy since we don’t have lift classes in any of the DC studios?
