Extra charge on the receipt?

I (f) went to a bar/club with my friend (f) and my boyfriend. My friend and I went to get a round of drinks, normal tab. The next time I went with just my boyfriend, and on the receipt I saw she added a $2 fee titled “the man”. This bar has no cover fee or anything, so just wondering if any bartenders have an idea what that means??

I didn’t ask in the moment bc it was just an overwhelming environment and I just wanted to get back to where we were hanging out.

should I go to bartending school?

Im 21 years old living in the Athens GA area. I’ve worked in restaurants for 3 years as a line cook but really want to get into bartending as a semi-long term career. Nowhere will hire me with no bartending experience so I’ve been looking into bartending school but people keep saying its a waste of money and wont help me land a job. I dont want to waste my time but i have no other way of getting my foot in the door. What should i do?
