has your store run out of bags recently? at my store, we ran out of the paper shopping bags the other week and it took like a week to receive more

also has anyone's store gotten bags with the new design yet? when we finally did get bags, it was the same brown gingham bags as usual

I'm an employee at bath and body works. The weather outside our location has been 100's humidity close to 115 anyways on Friday the whole mall lost power and our ac breaker went. We have been without ac going on 3 days. The managers have talked to dm and took all the necessary steps and purchased 4 fans,but their not cutting it. Its miserable, hot and no update when its gonna be fixed. I think they should be closing our store until the ac is fixed. Its probably over 100F staff and customers are complaining surprised no one has passed out yet. There a floorset tonight so employees will have to work in these conditions.

Do you think they should close store until ac is fixed or make the staff suffer just because they don't want to loose money.

I hit b&bw about twice a year to stock up on... Stuff. As one does.

Anyway. I go in there and I pretty quickly get a tad overstimulated by all the smells. Not like highly distressed or anything, I just get like "wow there is so much smell information around me and it is a bit overwhelming"

So I tend to be in and out pretty quick after chit chatting with staff and finding people's favorite combos (y'all have great combo ideas for body sprays)

Anyway. My question.

How do y'all not get headaches? Or do you? What do you do to manage it? Those of you in malls who can't retreat to the fresh air, are you okay? How do you guys handle the holiday rush of people spraying all the samples everywhere without getting a migraine?

I work at a pet store. I understand what retail is like. But the smells I deal with are a tad more....organic. And less..... Frequent and intense.

To anybody who worked front of shop today, did yall feel like these customers was extra rude ?? 😭😭 literally everybody would ignore me walking in, give me attitude in asking them if they needed help, and would just roll their eyes when I told them to have a good day ?? I get that sometimes you don’t want people to talk to you, but there’s a way to be respectful about it !! Idk what it is about holidays that brings out the worst in people. Literally had somebody get mad at me because we didn’t have an extra 4th of July sale like ? 😭😭

So during Father’s Day weekend, I had a lady that came to my register with three items (Into the moon bodywash/spray and a bourbon cream) which gave her the opportunity to use the 10 off 40 but she also wanted to use her 18.95 free item… THIS LADY couldn’t fucking comprehend the fact that IF she used the free item it CANCELLED OUT the 10/40 bc tax made it 40.09 (1.78) Guess what the lady said?

“No, you should put the 10/40 before the 18.95!”

“No do the 10/40–“

OMFG this bitch was about to make me crash tf out, my store was understaffed and I had 6 people waiting in line for her to finish. After going back and forth she left and said never mind. I immediately threw the items into a “go-back” basket and rung out the rest of the line.

I know this is happened a week or two ago but I really needed to fucking voice this out in hopes someone could relate to this bullshit in someway.

Hey guys i just got hire and i have a question, when doing BOPIS we got to select where will the order be (1A, 2A etc) after that where we look at the costumers order number and info/name should i write down the persons name or the name where “proxy” at the right of the page??? because they are 2 different names and idk which one to write on the paper before stapling it.

Can someone please clarify this because I want to know if everytime an BOPIS order has a proxy name i should be writing down that name instead of the name who’s account its under.

(Im mainly asking because today I was looking a pick up order for a costumer and I verify they last 4 digits and the name for that order was for Ava, she said yes and when i went to look on the shelf’s the name written was Zach, so i was confused and then she told me the name could be under Zach too. But i got confused bc on the BOPIS list it said Ava.)

Today people would find out that not all soaps were 75% off and they’d get angry and leave the basket on the floor

bc tell me WHY i am putting hours into work that is gonna be messed up the next day🫩🫩

EDIT: guys i understand that i got paid but are we not all doing the same floorset ?? literally my entire store was taken apart and we didn’t leave until 2am. i’m saying that it’s irritating how much work is out into doing this just for some customers to treat the store like a playground

Today I turned in my keys and quit my job. I was an ASM. My former SM is a tyrant and an awful person. The level of toxicity that they created in that store was something I could not and would not tolerate further. This is the happiest I’ve been since starting at that location. I wasn’t the first positioned person to quit because of this SM. I informed my DM of everything weeks ago and then again today before I left. She and I got along very well and I believe my former SM will be appropriately handled.

Know your worth! Work should NEVER be an anxiety inducing experience. Don’t let your boss bully you.

In your store, who decides or adds the selling lead segments to each days schedule? Out of curiosity

*My manager has us as SLTs add the segments during opening each morning which I find time consuming to try to accomplish in the 30 min period we have to open registers and prepare the store for the day. So I was wondering if that was the norm*

Shoutout to all the brave soldiers who made it through the first week of SAS.

I don’t know what it is about SAS that makes customers absolutely lose their minds. The testers are available AND VISIBLE, please for all that is holy, stop opening the products to test them. Now somebody else is gonna complain that there’s less ffm in this bottle and ask me to find them a brand new one.

What really grinds my gears is, when I tell a customer as FOS what tables and products are the sale stuff and then I see them again when I’m on cash later with stuff from the walls and they act surprised it’s not $5.99.

I know the BBW UI isn’t perfect but it’s still pretty good compared to some retail stores. I’m so tired of explaining to customers in the third week of SAS that whatever select $9.99 3 wick candles they see on the website are not available in-store because we already sold out/we never had them in the first place. If you want it so bad, just order it online. “But the website says it’s available so it has to be available!!” Yes, available to ship.

Or customers who complain about the selection. Guys, it is the third week.

The customers who didn’t even know about SAS and get excited about what we have left truly brighten my day because they are thrilled they came in on a random day and got some nice soaps for $3.50.

Will they not ever mark it down from buy 3 get 1 ? That’s no bargain. I thought it would go 75% off online 50% at the least. No finding it in any of my stores. Are they taking it to outlets, hoping FOMO people will buy it at the price listed online? Many times year it was buy 3 get 3 . lol this is hogwash. 😆

General question for anyone who’s been with the company for more than a few years - do you feel like suddenly everything you’ve known is being thrown out the window and suddenly there’s a ton of rules being added and enforced? For example, I got injured outside of work and got asked to bring in a doctors note (in my nine years this has not been an ask once), we used to be able to wear floorset clothes if we were coming in for floorset within two hours of store close and now we can’t wear them unless it’s after store hours, we can’t drink energy drinks on the job, and just in general I feel like SLT is breathing down our necks (no offense to anyone who is SLT in here, I’d be curious to hear about what you’re being told as well). For reference, I’ve been with the company for nine years and at this point am considering leaving because I feel like we’re being treated like kindergartners.
