I lived in beaverton for the first 7 years of my life and always loved oregon. Last year, I went back for the first time in over a decade on vacation, and I really loved the state of oregon. However, I'm in Texas now, and I couldn't help but notice it was all so much more congested than I remember. Obviously, this is natural since I was much younger, but even my father had the same feeling. We've heard from sources over the years that the crime has gone up in Portland at least, but Beaverton seemed fine just a little more cramped than I remember. Are things looking up for beaverton? Should I consider it when I'm ready to settle down? Is it getting very expensive and hard to live by compared to other cities? Another option to consider is moving back to oregon but in a less congested suburb. excited to hear local opinion!

Am English in Beaverton right now. Where are all of the local Brits/English gonna watch the game tomorrow? Any good places to go in Beaverton or Hillsboro?

Has anyone else heard about this new place called Tandoori Nights? A friend told me it’s supposed to be open and that the menu is going to be something completely different from the usual Indian restaurants around here. I’m really curious now. Does anyone know when they’re opening or have any insider info?

Hey there Beaverton moms! I’m looking to join a mom’s group or connect with moms near by. I’m in the Cedar Hills area, I have an almost 5 year old daughter, and I’m in my early 40s. We like to swim at Villa, hang out at the house and play, go to the park, ride bikes, go to the movies, play at the nickel arcade, crafting, gardening, and just overall have fun! Looking for mom’s who live near by and have kids close in age. Not totally sure how to connect on here, so message me if you’re interested?

I just moved to Beaverton (from out of state) a couple months ago and it’ll be my first time celebrating the 4th of July here.

I’m my hometown I’d usually head to the beach, have a few drinks, play some beach volleyball, and watch the city fireworks show.

How does everyone celebrate up here? And suggestions of places to go?
Also, where’s the best place to catch the fireworks.

My nephew is coming to PDX in July and he’s obsessed with Nike. I’d love to surprise him with a visit to the Nike Company Store while he’s here.

Every so often since the orange goblin got elected, every once in a while there is a dude who walks around my neighborhood all by himself and yells at the top of his lungs something along the lines of "REPUBLICANS NOT WELCOME HERE! MOVE OUT OF MY COMMUNITY!", like the dude sounds really menacing, someone might actually confront him, I get why he's angry....but this shit is stupid. I'm near the big park by the library for reference.

And like I have at least 2 neighbors that I know of who are republican, one of them is a family with small children and the dad of the family if frequently drunk. My anxiety goes sky high every time that guy comes around because I worry that he is going to get hurt one of these days, I worry that one of my neighbors are going to get pissed off enough to shoot this guy one of these days and what if a fucking bullet misses and comes into my home? Or someone else's home?

Anyone know who this guy even is? Has anyone else had them doing the same in their neighborhood? WTF do I even do? Nothing?

Where are people watching the World Cup games online?

I keep hearing about being able to stream matches on Telemundo for free, but they do not seem to actually be available on YouTube, and their app requires a paid subscription. Can't find another YT channel that offers the actual games, though there are loads of simulator things (not sure how those works).

If you have suggestions on ways to watch using a VPN those are also welcome :)
