Planning to buy the Bedjet 3, how is the noise?

I don’t mind a small background noise but I don’t want to have an airplane noise in my bedroom. For those of you who owns one, how is it?

Looking at Bedjet as a final solution

Considering 8S vs alternative

So my issue is waking hot around 1am and/or 3am. I have central air and in the summer the night temperature is set to 23c. In the winter it's set to 18c and I sleep cooler but will still find hot nights.

So I'm starting by replacing my mattress with a local pocket spring latex hybrid. This company has really comfortable hybrid mattresses and they're reasonably priced. I'll add a bamboo sheet set. I'm going to turn the thermostat down to 21 at night and see how that goes. Total cost $2,400 Cdn

Assuming the problem persists I'm going to shut the bedroom door and add a Midea Duo 12,000 BTU HE Inverter Ultra Quiet Portable Air Conditioner and feed the hose out the window and set it to 18c at night. The cost to cool the whole house would be crazy high.Total cost $730 Cdn

Assuming that doesn't fix it I'll try the Bedjet system. It will be pushing cold air through the cloud sheet and should work without the risk of leaks, customer service is better and it's basically a fan. Much fewer points of failure. Cost $900

In the end it will cost me less than the 8S for a year and I'll have vastly improved my mattress. What are the weaknesses of this plan?

Air duct at head board?

Hello everybody just bought a bed jet, i also purchased the cloud sheet ive seen everybody set up the duct at the foot end of the bed or on the sides. My question is has anybody ever set it up at the headboard side of the bed? And how has it worked im worried about pillows blocking air flow

Mini or full size for one person on queen bed

Just as the title says, wondering if there's a disadvantage to buying a full size bedjet since the refurb prices are comparable? I assume more air blowing is better? I sleep extremely hot and I'm not bothered by loud fan sounds. Thanks!

Cloud sheet purchase

I just received my bedjet yesterday and want to invest in the cloud sheet. I'm thinking about purchasing it from best buy for a quick arrival. Anybody know how long it won't take if purchased directly from the company? I bought my unit from a GMA sale and don't want to wait 3 more weeks for the sheet 🥴

New BedJet owner - do you use biorhythm?

Just got my BedJet, already love it! I’m a hot sleeper and usually need a fan on with a light duvet, and am tossing and turning all night trying to stay cool. I noticed less movement during night 1 and I could keep my legs/feet under the blanket all night, amazing! I did wake up around 3am and had to turn the temperature down, this is a pretty normal time for me to wake up feeling too hot. I think the biorhythm feature might work well for me, but I’ll give it a few more nights to monitor my pattern.

For those that use it, does it work well for you? Can you share the temp settings you use just out of curiosity? I started at 74 with fan at 40%, then turned temp down to 70 with fan at 60% at 3am. Then turned temp back up to 72 around 6am. Not sure how much variation I should experiment with.

Alternative Purpose

Do you think the bedjet could use one outside in the garage or outside while working?

Recent we got a bedjet and it’s been the most amazing thing ever. It is really hot where we live with high humidity and no wind. I am unable to work outside very long outside without being sick.

3D Printing Extra Long Arm?

Hope this post is allowed. My current mattress is tall, so I purchased a set of extensions after a week of calibrating my BedJet and it has worked well. This weekend, I added a 2 inch topper so now again it’s just a tad too short. Rather than purchase a second set of extensions, the current extended set is a bit wobbly so I’m curious if anyone here could 3D custom an extension arm which may be sturdier than buying more links. If someone has this capability, please DM!

Experiences with bedjet

Hello reddit,

I was looking into the bedjet for some time now and a lot of previous posts on here. I understand the bedjet does not cool but if your house is climate controlled that movement of air especially with the cloud sheets is not to be underestimated.

What I was curious about is how essential would you consider the sheets, and how are your units doing to this day? I will probably end up buying one soon but wanted to see everyone's options first

Rookie questions about the BedJet 3

Hey everyone!

Had no idea what a BedJet was a month ago. I've had mine for nearly two weeks now and while I'm having some teething problems, the early assessment is that is might literally change my life.

I have no idea what may or may not be connected here - but my entire life has been a roll of the dice as to whether I wake up with any energy, or so fatigued that it's literally painful to move. Either way I've had to push through my day.

I'm neurodivergent (late diagnosed ADHD/Autistic 3yrs ago @ 45yo). At 48 I'm only just realising I'm hyposensitive to a lot (probably all) internal signals and as such I've been waking up in the mornings absolutely ROASTING hot. I tried some wicking blanket that cost $500 and all it did was make me sweat buckets then dry it all off (gee, thanks). I nearly bought an Eight-sleep but the insane cost, subscription fees, and maintenance made it a stupid idea for a half-Scottish neurodivergent 😂

Anyway....I am currently riding a 100% "No Fatigue" success rate with my BedJet. It's so insane to me that I don't even want to think about it too much in case I jynx myself. I'm starting to understand what it's like to feel "normal" (in body, definitely NOT mind).

I should ask my questions for the 2 people who have made it this far:

  1. Is there a difference between Cool/Heat/Dry at the same temperature?
  2. Is anyone working on the (android) app development? It functions like someone chucked some BedJets at a wall and saw what would stick. There are a number of inconsistencies with the app (and probably the remote, it might be a system-based thing) that are somewhat frustrating. It's like they've developed this amazing product only to realise there was no budget left for the app.
  3. Are there any settings that aren't "user preference"? Like in general can you say whether it's better to maintain a consistent fan/temp overnight or to adding in variations due to sleep rhythms? (Further to Q2, the Biorhythm settings for all genders and ages are somewhat similar, suggesting to me it's more "suggestion" than scientifically supported)
  4. Does anyone use any automation software such as IFTTT to semi-dynamically control the BedJet?
  5. I hate wearables (refer Autism!) but I'm interested in a temp/HR monitor of some sort if it would help optimise the BedJet. Does anyone have any recommendations or experience?

So I'm still experimenting with it. The first night I slept like a log and I thought all the world's problems were solved. The second night I kept waking up with frozen toes. I'm solo in a Queen bed so I moved the BedJet over into the bottom corner and angled it toward the centre (I'm Australian....) of the bed. I have a fitted sheet, a top sheet & a thin-but-dense-enough-to-trap-the-air doona (duvet). At 30-35% fan it raises the doona just enough to circulate through the whole bed. At 100% fan I have my own bed balloon 😄

Currently it's 8-11 degrees celcius (hang on, I got you - 46-52 degrees in the Freedom scale). I sleep hot (apparently like a turbo jet) so I currently have it in wait mode for the first 2-3hrs and then to ~30% fan @ 25 deg celcius (77 Freedoms). My alarm is set for 0400 but I keep waking up around 0300 (during the aforementioned phase) and it's really hard to tell whether the BedJet is BedJetting. I think sometimes the top sheet is getting a bit twisted and thwarting the airflow, redirecting it down the sides of the bed. I added an extra spacer (the mount is a decent design, but it needs something to prevent the hose pitching away from the bed due to the offset weight distribution). I also tightly wrapped the top sheet around the hose and clamped it in to try and keep it as taut as possible. Maybe I just need to blast it at 100% for a couple of minutes so it can blow out any kinks in the sheet before dropping it back to 30%? That works when I first get in bed at least.

Clearly I'm ADHD rambling right now, but I'm trying to brainstorm the best setup. The BedJet feels as though it's got a relatively small window for the perfect setup and if I miss the sweet spot the effectiveness drops off a cliff (ie - it wakes me up). I didn't get a cloud sheet cuz stupid AI told me I didn't need one for my situation, only to recommend I get one AFTER it turned up. Dumb AI. I might just try and make one myself - how hard could it be, right? (No shade on the cloud sheet creators, more an indication of my naivety)

Anyway, any thoughts, experiences, ideas, or requests to stop scrambling your brain and go away would all be equally appreciated!

Weighted blanket

I just got the BedJet 3 a few weeks ago and love it. Even my teens love it especially my one daughter with lupus and severe dysautonomia. But my question is: does a weighted blanket (10lb) work with a BedJet? I don’t want to burn the motor out of it but my daughter loves her weighted blanket but it’s always so hot here in FL that she can’t use it all that often. I also have a big blanket co on my bed (10x10) and haven’t had any issues (same for my rest cooling comforter and sheet and pillow cases)

Thanks for the tips

Bedjet 2 iPhone App - RIP? That's what customer service told me

The iPhone app for the Bedjet 2 has been constantly crashing when it attempts to pair with the Bedjet. I uninstsalled and reinstalled several times and even power cycled the bedjet itself several times.

I called customer service and was told that Apple updated the iOS and that there's nothing that Bedjet could do. I was told to simply use the remote.

I can't program the Bedjet nor can even tell what level it currently is.

Anyone else facing this issue? That does not seem like good customer support.

Dual Zone Cloud Sheet Bleed-over

Bought a Dual Zone Cloud Sheet but the entire thing fills up when only my bedjet is on. I thought there would be no bleed-over. Last thing I want is my wife’s hot air to blow to my side. What is your experience?

Battery backup?

I'm moving to an island that is frequently hit with typhoons and looses power when they happen. does anyone use a battery backup for their bed jet? id like to be able to run it for a couple days so like 16-24hrs of use to account for 2-3 days of use.

any suggestions on what portable battery would work for this?
