The WORST Bell experience I have ever had.

Folks, I have had the WORST customer service experience of my LIFE with Bell the past week.

For context, I am moving from an apartment to my new house, I moved in yesterday. I work from home, and DESPERATELY need wifi in order to work, so I called them last weekend and let them know I would need my internet services moved over. They said no problem and booked for Tuesday.

Tuesday comes, supposed to be anytime after 4, I call around 530 and they say they have to reschedule as hes not gonna make it in time. I say okay, annoying, but thats fine as im not fully moved in yet, they reschedule to Friday (keep in mind I move in Saturday).

I call Friday morning, and they inform me that it was actually changed to Monday. At this point im livid, I go back and check my email and sure enough somehow the day after I called asking to change to Friday (and i expressed how important Friday is) they changed it to Monday, without calling to confirm.

keep in mind this WHOLE time, they deactivated my Bell services at my apartment. So I have been without internet (luckily was using my landlords BRUTAL wifi), and then cancelled on TWICE, so no internet in my new house either once we moved in.

So at that point I call Rogers, and they say they can express ship equipment in for a self install, and my bill will be cheaper. I happily agree, and sure enough the equipment gets delayed and im not getting that till tomorrow.

So I called Bell minutes ago, initally planning to move my appointment from tomorrow (the one thats been scheuled) to another day. So I ask the lady "Hey which days are available after tomorrow, just incase rogers package gets delayed and I want to stick with you guys?", she says "let me check", she comes back "the soonest is wednesday", so at that point i decide to just keep my Monday appointment because she said I can just keep tomorrows, and cancel after install if Rogers package gets in.

So she goes back to let her supervisor know to not proceed since Wednesday doesnt work, THEN she says "im so sorry, they alreayd moved it to wednesday and we cant get monday back now".

Folks I had my internet move changed TWICE for no reason, then a supervisor messed up and moved it before even checking with me about the day.

Genuinely sickening and inexcusable.

Just posting because this company gets away with way too much bullshit, and ive lost income by not having/having shitty internet the past week.

Considering Bell Business after a bad experience years ago

A few years ago, I moved my office from Videotron (200/50) to Bell Business, mainly for the higher bandwidth.

It was a terrible experience. We had persistent packet loss, random connection timeouts, and certain ports would become unreachable for periods of time before working again. The problems were intermittent, which made them especially difficult to troubleshoot, but they happened often enough to disrupt our operations and waste a lot of employee time.

Bell support was never able to explain what was happening or provide a permanent fix, so I switched back to Videotron within a short time. I’ve stayed with them ever since.

Now I’m considering Bell again because a 50 Mbps upload is becoming a real bottleneck for our business. However, I’m reluctant to go through the same experience.

Have things improved on Bell Business in recent years? Were these kinds of issues isolated, or have others experienced them as well?
Also, is Bell still doing any kind of network-level filtering, “intelligent firewall,” or other traffic inspection on business connections? If so, can it be disabled to get a straightforward Internet connection?

I’d appreciate any recent experiences before I make the switch.

Bell Giga Hub 2.0 (Firmware 3.11.3) - Ring cameras, WhatsApp calls & remote access stop working after 7–10 hours until reboot

I’m trying to determine if this is a firmware bug, a hardware issue, or something specific to my setup.
Setup:
Bell Fibre 3 Gbps up/down
Bell Giga Hub 2.0 (white)
Firmware: 3.11.3
Around XX devices connected (smart home devices, phones, TVs, etc.)
Issue:
Every 7–10 hours, certain applications stop working:
Ring cameras lose remote connectivity.
WhatsApp voice/video calls won’t connect.
Other remote access traffic also stops working.
The strange part is that general internet browsing still works, and as soon as I reboot the Giga Hub, everything immediately starts working again—for another 7–10 hours.
So far I’ve only been rebooting the modem, but the issue always returns.
I’m planning to:
Disable Bell Guard (if it’s contributing)
Factory reset the modem
Contact Bell and request a Tier 2 escalation and possibly a replacement modem
Questions:
Has anyone else with a Giga Hub 2.0 and firmware 3.11.3 experienced this?
Did Bell identify it as a firmware issue or replace your modem?
Did using your own router (ASUS, Ubiquiti, TP-Link Omada, etc.) solve the problem?
Are there any settings (IPv6, Bell Guard, SIP ALG, Wi-Fi optimization, etc.) that permanently fixed it?

Internet Dropping - Zoom calls and Apple TV affected

I am writing this in case it is helpful to someone. After a year of reliable service, I had a solid month of internet issues with Bell. I could browse the web and various devices could connect, but I could only unreliably connect to the network with my AppleTV (10 feet away from the modem) and Zoom calls were constantly freezing or dropping.

After literally dozens of calls, hours and hours and hours on the phone, escalations to "senior" tech support people, untold frustration, a modem replacement, 3 technicians sent to my house (one of who more or less said "well other devices are connected, so it must be your AppleTV that isn't working properly" before walking out the door again), the problem persisted. I had to tether to my phone or run an ethernet cable to stream anything or have work meetings.

Finally, in desperation I searched the internet and found a post somewhere about a modem setting called Whole Home Wifi. I logged into my modem, went to "Manage my Wifi" and switched it off and instantly, my problem was resolved. No one at Bell ever asked about or checked this setting. My current understanding is that this setting is useful if you have pods (extenders) but if you do not, can cause instability in your signal causing all manner of issues. If called Bell to ask why their tech support staff do not check this setting as part of their checklist only to be met with indifference--and apparent ignorance re: what the setting even is.

If you are having signal issues, calls dropping, devices connecting then disconnecting and you don't have pods, I encourage you to check this setting to see if it might be the solution. It was for me.

Alleged Copyright Infringement

Got an email from Bell of alleged copyright infringement for downloading a movie via torrent. Say they can't do anything or share my info, so what's the point of sending these emails? I was using a VPN so not sure how they tracked me.

Connection Issue Across Devices

I'm making this post as a last resort because I'm genuinely at a loss.

I have four desktops that won't recieve a proper connection; I can browse websites and watch youtube videos but my download speeds are garbage, when I run a speedtest on speedtest .net I get an error that says "Server Sort Error". It also just says "Finding optimal server".

I have a few Bell Pods that I connect the desktops to and this problem still happens. The modem itself says the connection is fine and the Bell app says the same, and even when I try running a speedtest on the modem itself the speeds are fine. The wireless connection also does the same thing on all of the desktops.

I've had a technician come out and he couldn't resolve the issue and I've also recieved a new modem. What usually tends to happen is the connection will sometimes work for a moment when I power off my PC completely and turn it back on, or sometimes a similar thing will happen when I reboot the modem but it's genuinely 10 minutes of connection and then it's back to the same issue.

I've tried restarting my PC countless amounts of times to no avail. If you have any clue on how to fix this I'd appreciate the advice.

Condo ethernet plug only provides 80mbps when my plan is 3gbps

Hi everyone,

I'm in a recent condo and using the GigaHub with a 3gbps plan. Wifi is stable at 500-700mbps on all devices (which is expected over wifi). I also have a plug in the living room and bedroom to have it wired through ethernet. I only use cat6 thick cables. The Bell tech wired (as seen on photos) the cables running from my unit, tested it works from my wall plugs and left.

I did a speedtest afterward over ethernet on my PS5 and only capping at 80mbps. Tried laptop, same.

When plugged directly on the router I get around 900mbps.

I guess something is wrong in the cables either inside the walls or at the setup the tech made.

Anything I can do or should I call Bell again?

Also, shouldn't I get 3gbps if directly connected to router ?

Thanks for the help!

EDIT : forgot the pictures... I shared them in the comments.

Old Service Lines

My boyfriend and I just bought a house and it has an old service line running in to a Northern Telecom box on the house. The line itself hangs quite low over our driveway and we would like it removed. I tried calling Bell today to figure out what we can do to remove it and they said there's nothing they can do and to call a "local company."

Nortel has been gone for years if I'm not mistaken?

I'm left wondering what I should do?

Class Action Lawsuit

After a week of being gaslit and lied to on Bell’s web chat, I’m fed up. It’s been impossible to reach anyone at Bell. I was forced to cancel service just to get service elsewhere. I needed internet. Who else is getting fed up with how Bell treats paying customers? They’re a monopoly so they will get new clients. But it’s also because they’re a monopoly, they don’t care about their customers. Should we sue? I feel like there are enough upset customers to have a real case.

Nonstop calls

I cancelled Bell finally because their web chat service is so bad! As a deaf person, I was losing my mind dealing with AI or agents gaslighting me with assurances they corrected name and address on work orders. All their technicians who showed up couldn’t help because wrong names in work orders. This went on for a week, I tried going to their stores only to he told they’re just resellers. They don’t work for Bell. I just find it so ironic that Alexander Graham Bell, an eugenicist who refused to sign with his deaf wife, would ultimately be the reason I, a deaf customer, said F it and cancelled them. And now Hell’s Bell has been calling me nonstop. Even though I sent so many messages and explained a hundred times in web chat that I’m deaf and cannot hear on phones. Hey Bell, if you’re reading this, 🖕

The scammers are getting smarter/frustration trying to open a new line...

Trying to open a new line on my account and order a new phone for my husband. Normally I do everything related to my account online myself. For whatever reason ordering the phone online was not working. I wait until this morning, try again, still not working. No problem, I start a customer service chat to get assistance.

They say they can help me process it. As soon as I mention I want to put a downpayment on it they want to call me. I get a call from bell (likely spoofed) and alarm bells start going off. He's talking very quickly. Doesn't know my name. Doesn't give me his name. Employee number. Quotes incorrect phone prices (I know exactly which phone I want and how much it cost, and the exact plan I want).

Tell him we want a temporary number then will use the online form to request a port of my husbands number from a different carrier. He says he will "give me a phone number" to call when I receive the phone and that they will help me (biggest red flag). Now he needs to confirm my account but doesn't do it the correct way. Instead he asks for my phone number (edit to add: and email) and I get a text with a code saying someone's logging into my account. I start to read it and then immediately in the back of my mind something said "no". Hang up on him. Bell will attempt contact a few times. Bro started calling me over and over again. Turn to my husband and tell him I'm pretty sure we just almost got scammed.

I contacted fraud department and they confirm this wasn't right. Fraud is able to confirm my account with just the number and my address. Put safe guards on my account just incase so if anyone tries to order anything they are going to need more information. I'm pretty sure whoever was on the phone wasn't the same person I was talking to in the chat. I can see how someone trying to order a phone would have easily fell for this. And I'm willing to bet the phone we would have gotten in the mail wouldn't have been the one I was wanting to order.

We decided to go in store to order the phone. I go to our local bell and they are closed because of a power outage. Not their fault. I ask my husband (who's at home) to call the one in the next town over and just ask if they have the phone he wants in stock, if they do then we will drive up there to get it today. Tell me why they ask him for MY phone number, pull up MY account and start going over information with HIM? They ask him who he is and he says my husband (he is not on my account, or connected to it in any way whatsoever, but apparently this was an acceptable answer) and they start going over with him how they can order it over the phone. This is obviously not allowed. Why is me trying to order a phone resulting in my account security being put at risk twice? He wouldn't have gotten very far because of the safe guards I had added that morning but still. What the heck?

Needless to say kind of mad right now. But anyways, be careful out there folks.

Has anyone had a technician not show up on the day of the appointment?

My satellite isn’t working and long story short, bell said they would send out a technician. They said they would call 30 mins to 1 hr before they come and should be there anywhere between 8am-5pm. Took day off of work, Waited all day. No call, and no show. I messaged bell and they said the technician couldn’t complete the work order due to an issue with the address on the work order 🤨🤨. I’ve had bell for 13 years, they’ve come out twice before. My address has not changed. I just don’t understand is there was an “issue” they couldn’t have called…. So frustrating . Also this happens to another person who lives in a bigger town and they never called either or showed up.

Move Valet - New Equipment?

Hi all,

I'm moving and have set up an appointment with Move Valet. The phone rep was nice but couldn't confirm the next steps.

Currently using a HH3K on the 1Gbps plan which I am transferring to my new place.

The rep couldn't confirm what I needed to do ahead of my scheduled install.

I assume the tech will bring a new modem to my new place and the HH3K should be shipped back? I assume I only disconnect the HH3K and leave the ONT intact?

Only moving a block away from current place from Toronto condo to another condo lol.

3gbps Internet Not Achieving Speeds

I was hoping I could get some assistance on this on what to do or if someone else has experienced this issue. I am currently experiencing issues with my Bell speeds only achieving between 940mbps - 1.2gbps.

My standard configuration is (All on CAT6 cabling): Modem -10G-> Omada Router (Advance DMZ Enabled) -2.5G-> Omada 2.5 Switch -2.5-> PC

I have temporarily changed my configuration to directly connecting to the 10G port with my PC. I am still getting the same slower speeds.

The modem speedtest is show about 3.2gbps up and down.

I have swapped modems and spent several hours diagnosing it with the Bell support line.

I just recently got these service installed on June 26. However, since the first day I could not achieve the expected speeds.

Using the same PC I was able to achieve a 1.7gbps on a Gigahub 1 Modem on another location.

Bell said it's on the right XGSPON profile but won't confirm what number it's on. Any advice on what to do instead of wasting another several hours with Bell would be graciously appreciated!
