The city will again ask to increase taxes and become a charter city. Y’all tired of getting squeezed by our city yet? Don’t forget about the constant raises including Mario’s very nice raise the day after the last tax increase passed.

Time to reject property transfer taxes that would make future City housing even more costly.  The measures would diminish government accountability while unnecessarily and unfairly raising taxes on property owners.  The revenue for the proposed transfer tax could be used for any purpose, including even more pay raises.  Say NO.

“In a few months, Benicians can expect to start seeing an uptick in long-overdue road repairs, starting around Cambridge Drive. The construction ushers in a four-year plan to fix Benicia’s failing roads, overwhelmingly funded by money raised through Measure F, a half-cent sales tax approved by Benicians in 2024.

In the meantime, we’re digging into a few other things, including City of Benicia proposals to modernize business license fees and ask voters to reconsider (again) whether Benicia should become a charter city. 

The move would allow the City to implement a property transfer tax to bolster the city’s coffers as it prepares to lose up to nearly $11 million in annual revenue from Valero’s exit”

Does anyone know if it is permissible to park overnight at the 9Th street boat ramp? Also. how safe would it be to leave a car and trailer there if it is allowed?

I’m looking for some boxing gyms near Benicia where I won’t need to pay a bridge toll to get to. I’ve heard of Vallejo PAL and Golpes Azteca, but I was wondering if there are any other options that I may have missed. I’m 24M and looking for some good adult classes.

I live in benicia and need to get my cpr certification straightened out for a new job that requires a current american heart association card. most of the options I'm seeing online are either requiring driving to Vallejo or Fairfield or all day classroom sessions. not part of a short drive

but thinking if there is something more local and more flexible. anyone find a good option lately in the benicia area?
