Women who train hard on Instagram?

Who do you follow that shows them working their butt off? Like going to failure, sweat dripping, etc? I always see perfectly curated workout videos where they’re not even breathing hard. Maybe it’s just my feed so please help me change it up!

Water intake

How do you ladies track tour water intake. This is my hardest variable to manage because I just don’t have any inclination to drink during the day and when I do it’s not necessarily in standard measurements. Trying to track better for my coach so she can understand the impact on digestion and scale weight. Do you ladies include mixed preworkout / eea drinks in your water intake? What about tea and coffee? (I don’t include canned sugar free energy drinks because they are dehydrating.)

Lipedema and bikini competitions

Hello. I was wondering if there are any ladies on here who struggle with lipedema. I have been struggling with my legs and was wondering if there is anything you recommend doing to help reduce appearance?

This is something that always seems to be brought up with coaches when I’m cutting. But no matter how much I cut I still have these pouches of fat on my outer thighs that just won’t go away. They hide my definition a bit.

I’ve been cut almost to the point of going to the emergency room to lose the fat in my legs. Any advice would be amazing!

Thank you so much!

Bri Marshall calls out Rhythm blood panel service

I was also curious about how legitimate Rhythm was because mailing in blood through the mail seems so sketch???

Competed in bikini this weekend

I started at 300 pounds, and lost a total of 175 pounds . I competed this weekend, getting second in my division. I NEVER would have expected this. I’m so proud of where I started and how hard I worked to get here

Criticism from oustide the sport

This isn't snark directly at the athletes or anyone who tries...but more at the people who claim to be your supporters...

So i was dating this man for a while. He is not into fitness at all (i know, don't ask...i still am questioning how i got here). My life is fitness and i'm prepping for a show.

So i was showing him pictures of the top athletes. And explaining their physiquecsnd all of that. Mind you- only looking at bikini.

All he could say is "they looked so much sexier (before PEDs)" or "they don't look as attractive to me now".

And i'm like... first of all; no every woman is trying to fit your limited definition of attraction. Secondly wgat these women have accomplished is crazy and thesecare top in the world...they don't care about your opinion. They are living a dream life.

The whole conversation put me off because then it turned into "you are not thinking of looking like that, are you?".

Get a new coach?

Edit: Thank you so much to everyone who responded! I appreciate all the advice I was given.

I’m 8 weeks out of my show. This is my second time competing and I’m starting to get anxious. I wish I had a longer offseason. I told that to my coach but he kept insisting I competed this year. I’m still happy to do it, but now that I’m close to stepping on stage I realize that I need a lot more muscle. I am a natural athlete and relatively new to the sport (2.5 years with a coach). Ever since the beginning I feel like he just wants to put me on the stage to make sure he gets a paycheck from me but he doesn’t seem to concerned about me developing a lot of muscle. He’s not a terrible coach. He’s responsive and I can tell my physique has improved over the past 2.5 years. However, I feel like he gives bad advice sometimes. He told me to NOT get a posing coach, he keeps convincing me to step on stage without having enough muscle development and every time I tell him I want to compete in the NPC he rolls his eyes. (He’s an OCB promoter). I still want to stay natural so Idk if other coaches will push to use PEDs or peptides. but I feel like he may not be the right fit for me anymore. Am I over-reacting?

Posing pet peeves

Sorry I’m hungry or on my period but what is with this slitting of the throat hand movement I see in fit model / bikini now ? I think it’s supposed to be a way to move the hair off the shoulder but usually there’s no hair there at all so it’s just like throat slit once throat slit twice turn around, flip hair and throat slit - whyyyyyyyyyyy???? What is it doing for the physique? Which muscles is it highlighting? What flaws is it concealing? I just want to understand (and also complain lol) because I don’t get its purpose unless there is actual hair to move out of the way. That is all. Sorry I just can’t stand it. Anyone else have strange posing pet peeves?

Fit model readiness?

Thoughts on my current physique? I am a first time fit model competitor and am set to compete in a little over 11 weeks. I want to be competitive. I weigh around 141 lbs and my coach wants me to drop to 130 for the competition.

Berberine Supplement

Hi all,

I waa advised to take Berberine as a supplement. I got some and I was taking it. The dosage was 3 x pills a day on the bottle.

Y'all i'm so fucked. I am very bloated; i feel consyipated (had to take a laxative last night). I'm very gassy (which relieves the pain) but its smells toxic AF.

My poops are weird - green in colour. Like diarrhea (before i took the laxative).

Is this normal? I hacen't taken anything today. But i feel fucked. I feel so unconfortable.

Last 4 weeks of prep emotions

This is my second and I've decided my last season of competing because I truly do not love the process this time around, and it's not even because of comparison or any of that as I'm not on IG or anything.

I have two shows lined up with the first in just under 4 weeks and the second in just under 5 weeks. Food is low, cardio is up there, energy is low, and for lack of better words, I feel depressy, numb. I'm on complete auto-pilot. I need to finish this out for myself. I feel like my normal level of genuine happiness is gone, like I lost my spark (best way I can describe it) for everything in my life right now.

Has anyone felt this way during the last leg of prep? How did you get through it? (I do go to therapy and will be seeing my therapist soon). But I legit just want to cry and eat a snack.

Coaches

Anyone have good coach recommendations for first time bikini competitor?

I’m not in prep currently. I work a pretty demanding blue collar job so ideally someone who understands that. I was paying for a pretty popular coach but felt like she wasnt very invested in me, so I’d like someone who atleast acts like they care. I’m not a high maintenance person but I had very little interaction with this coach and we had no discussion of any plan/protocol or anything, just gave me my meal plan and adjusted check ins but I felt kind of in the dark the whole time?

I’m located in Pennsylvania, would love to have someone that is at least on the east coast.

TIA!

Front vs back camera

I've been using my front camera for years to take check ins and for posing practice, but every time I look at my back camera I look horrific and uneven. I'll try adjusting what I see on the back but I just have such stark imbalances that it's really disheartening and I haven't figured out how to adjust anything. When I look in the mirror it's the same as my front camera, which is all good. But I know the back is supposed to be better/the real view?

Any tips? I'm really struggling and looking at me from my back camera makes me wonder if I'll ever even do well in this sport because I'm just too uneven

How Often Do You Lift?

Hey besties, how many days per week do you lift?

I was doing 6 days a week, (lower body every third day, 2x shoulders/tris, and 1x back per week).

But life is life-ing, and I had to drop down to 5 days a week.

I feel like I’m leaving gains on the table (for example, I COULD hit back today because it’s not sore, and it’s been several days since I trained it, but today is supposed to be a rest/life admin day).

Am I crazy? Can I work my way toward a pro card on 5 days a week? I am not used to resting this much. Was I doing damage by NOT resting?

A question about training volume...

So i noticed ALL the pros in my gym (they are all on PEDs), and all very lean and very "hard" looking. Defined lines etc.

But they all lift very LOW weights.

I asked them and they said it was just their warm-up set (while on a cut). But i kept watching and their heavy set was still lower than my warm-up set.

I'm on a cut too but i've been told to keep weight high. My high thrust personal best is 529lbs.

Today i tried lower training volumes. Hip thrust at 180lbs.

Should i be lifting lower?

Less cardio, more food!

Hi! This is my first time working with a coach. I’m quite lean and I want to compete in the future. Right now I’m just working with a lifestyle coach to optimize my physique and gain a better understanding of my health. I’m a lean female- visible 6 pack and low BF. My body / mind has been stressed lately between work, workouts, etc. I’m a nurse and on my feet a lot. The past few weeks I’ve been struggling with a very watery appearance, fatigue, heightened anxiety, and stress both physical and mental. Not recovering from workouts. Scale is slightly up but not much. Coach gave me 2 rest days, followed by increased carbs and no cardio - just some lighter lifts. Why does this approach work? Looking forward to trying and learning !

My hamstrings are behind

Building up to hopefully compete next year and hamstrings have been identified as my weakest spot. I consulted with two coaches and both of them told me that my lats and quads are borderline too big but my hamstrings and delts are lacking, for bikini. Therefore, the coach I went with decided that my current split leading up to prep will be 4 days with 3 days of glute and hamstrings work, and 1 day maintaining the rest, with heavy delt work.

The problem is, the second I started working this program, I realized myself that the hamstring volume is way too high. I have more than 30 sets of hamstring work in the week and it’s a bit against my personal understanding of exercise science. I dropped the volume against his advice, and still, I feel under recovered.

More than a week ago, he switched my dumbbell RDL to a SLDL on a belt squat for more range. This range is new to my body and because of the neutral grip and stability I could go way heavier than the dumbbells, as a result, I woke up with extremely sore hamstrings. I followed up with a lot of stretching and heat but it’s been sore going on the second week now. His response to it is keeping the same frequency but dropping the volume again. I don’t feel confident that I can hit hamstrings monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday even with less volume. Note that my frequency for hamstrings prior to this program is once a week. Now we are in a disagreement that he thinks the only way to grow my hamstrings is with more volume, whilst I think I can’t sustain it but I also am concerned with the lack of development in them.

I did more research and realized that hamstrings are made up of mostly fast twitch fibers and theoretically respond well to low volume. I wonder why mine are terrible compared to my glute and quads, I suspect it’s because of my anterior pelvic tilt. I’m also interviewing new coaches now for a second advice. Wondering how everyone else is able to grow their hamstrings, especially if you had poor genetics there to begin with. And what would you have programmed for me, if you needed to grow only glutes, hamstrings and delts while maintaining everything else. Also, any suggestions to recovering awfully sore hamstrings going on weeks. Thank you.
