Young bikini pros 🍒 surgery

I’ve been seeing more recently younger bikini competitors all starting to get 🍒 surgery, and it’s got me thinking if that what is going to help get them better placings as being ifbb pros and that’s what it takes to be in the ifbb, thoughts?

Went in for prep fatigue I thought I was overreacting about and came out with a diagnosis of MS.

Hey guys!! About two weeks ago I dropped a 45lb plate on my foot. At that point my biggest concern was how can I finish prep with this injury and how the heck did I manage to do that. As the days went on, things in my body kinda starting creating havoc. I was feeling extremely run down and oddly the other side that was uninjured I began to have struggles with balance. I tried to start using the bike to make up cardio but got horrific cramps and tightness. After a day or two of trying to stretch extra make sure potassium was up, etc. figured risk wasn’t worth reward would just give my lifts all I could and keep neat up and get back into my normal cardio when I could as my conditioning was solid at that point.

Here’s where things truly went haywire… the cramps turned into full on numbness and it was my left foot going numb and then my left hand. Still thought maybe electrolyte imbalance but let’s keep an eye on it. Next day it happened more frequently once when I was bathing my son which freaked me out. Next day I felt unbelievably exhausted like couldn’t keep my eyes open which isn’t normal and had two of those episodes within an hour of waking where I actually had to hold on to something so I wouldn’t fall. I still went to the gym… it happened at the gym. So I called it. I went to go home and my hand was numb the whole time I was opening and closing my first the entire time to try to force it awake so I decide to go right to urgent care where they convince me to go to the er. Bloodwork and ekg perfect so they run a ct “just to be safe” in which they discover a swollen mass they suspect is cancer I’m terrified and rush into mri and transported to a neurohospitwl. After lots of testing they’re now confident since there are also lesions on my spine and my symptoms are consistent with MS that this was “just” a MS flare up. I’m absolutely devastated they say MS is extremely treatable now and I can live a meaningful life but for the future of bodybuilding I don’t know and that IS my quality of life.

Are there any of you out there with MS who still compete?

Ps- makes sense now due to left hand weakness caused me to drop the plate.

LL v Aimee

Bikini is getting exciting again! I love the competitive energy going on between LL and Aimee right now, makes me even more excited for the season / Miami pro coming up.

I don’t think there was any malicious intent in the interview Aimee and Jaime but it def has stirred up a rivalry. I am a fan of both LL and Aimee but Damien does bring up a valid point in that their physiques are so different… and LL just proved to be a moving target. I also don’t think it’s wrong of Aimee to want her get back after Pittsburgh. If they both show up on, who you got?

Bikini vs FM training

For those who went from bikini to fit model, how has your training changed? I would assume less back & quad engagement, with the focus still being on shoulders & glutes. I’m curious how your split/sets/reps/etc changed in particular.

Extension Recommendations

Wanting to wear my hair straight for competition (June 20th! It’s so close!) but my concern is:

  1. My hair is super thin and doesn’t hold curl well.

  2. I’m worried the extensions I currently have won’t blend well without it curled

Has anyone worn extensions for fullness and done that with straight hair on stage? Would love recommendations as far as what extensions you use if so!

If curled is the way to go, drop any must have hair products I should try! TYIA!

I love LL 🤭

This girl stands on business and I love that about her. They played their hand and she will let them know.

Topic: Paying for your coach to come to your show?

Does your coach make you pay for them to come to your show (hotel, flight, etc) or do they come on their own dime if they are able/available?

Ai posters

Why do these hosts use ai for their posters for shows??? I don’t understand using fake “ai generated body builders” when there are so many talented people they could put on their posters. I know it’s petty but like COME ON lol

coaching communication frequency

hi guys!
I’m new to having a coach so the dynamic is kind of new to me. i’m very detailed orientated so that leads me to ask a lot of questions that i feel like may be insignificant. 😬
I also feel like since my training style is so different now under my new coach, i have been adjusting to that and i want to give it a good shot before i ask for any adjustments. But some movements I just know there are substitutes that I would prefer (Ex machine vs dumbbell shoulder press).

I don’t want to be a burden to her by asking a ton of questions and talking about adjustments especially since she is in prep as well and has a lot of upcoming shows.
also i don’t want to seem uncoachable by questioning my plans or asking for adjustments in movements, because I 100% trust her whole heartedly 🙃 ! But then that leads me to not want to bring up issues i’m having in training because I feel guilty and like i’m questioning her program.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Is this just me being difficult as a client? Will this go away as I am with her for longer or is it something i should be concerned about??
Thank u guys all 🫶🫶

Figure prep coaching recommendations

Looking for recommendations for Figure contest prep . I have competed before, I am now in the masters division. Looking for a good coach that is familiar with the figure criteria. Thanks!

New Here!

Hello hello! I am a 37 year old bikini hopeful, and I’d love some advice as I start down this rabbit hole.

I’ve been strength training since I was a child, but I’ve never trained intentionally for physique and I need some MAJOR body recomposition after 3 kids and a stressful separation/divorce. I also have PCOS and few other body “issues” working against me, so training method is really important for me.

I’m currently the GM of a high-end personal training gym and after years spending time helping everyone else, I’ve decided to put some effort into me. There’s a local, more natural comp in October so I definitely have some time, but I don’t even really know where to start.

I’m really excited to learn ALL the things, and I appreciate any and all suggestions!

Paying for coaching/ coach recommendations

I am planning to compete soon but even with a "good job " I don’t seem to come up with how to pay for a coach. How do you ladies do it? I am single, no kids… I have a full time job.
Do you have recommendations of good online coaches out there that are on the lower price range?
Also the competition fees and all of the suits and shoes!! Seems very overwhelming and pricey.

receiving judgement from gym peers for struggling post comp

i’m 3 weeks post comp and have been binging like crazy, doing better at pulling it together lately but still sitting w the gloom of a 20 pound weight gain (i’m aware it’s not all fat, still i look uncomfortably inflated). i go to a bodybuilding gym where im loosely connected with all the staff and ive picked up on a lot of direct and indirect judgement on my mental and physical state. ive struggled my entire life with extreme depression and mood/personality disorders and while i understand and invite in the extremes that the sport offers, it feels frustrating that i receive so much shame and judgement for being mentally fragile. not even just within my gym but in the bodybuilding community as a whole

i’m working on getting my adherence, mental health and routine back in order which i’m being proactive about but im struggling with not taking this judgement personally when im already feeling low and incompetent

ive had literally no support except myself post show, and im having a hard time not kicking myself for falling into this mental/physical state especially with the judgement from my own “community.”

just posting here to see if anyone else can offer relatability or support about these topics. surely i’m not the only person who thinks it’s weird to judge competitors for not being on their A game 100% of the time?

Has any one else struggled with sleep? When I’m getting to sleep it’s like I’m always half awake and conscious while I’m sleeping .
