The view from my kitchen window every morning 🦅

Everyday for the last couple years, this eagle pays me a visit at least once per day. He will sit up there and watch over the property (I have chickens but have never lost any). He usually flys overhead around sunset and returns home to his nest across the river. I truly feel lucky to have such a beautiful creature as part of my daily experience.

This is why I volunteer at our raptor center

Two siblings were fighting- I got called to investigate-caught them so they could be evaluated for feeding and injuries- they were good so returned them next day-

Rescued this little fella today

Lots of rain overnight and this guy was looking for a snack before bedtime. Somehow he got stuck in the water and was looking like he regretted his life choices. I fished him out with a rake, he gave me a good talking to. After a rest he flew up to a tree to dry out and then went home for the day. I think i will call him Owlfred. But if he’s a girl then Owlkwafina…

Is this a Cooper’s Hawk

I was wondering if this was a Cooper’s Hawk? In southeastern Connecticut.

Here’s our 2026 series of Bird pins - what do you think of them?

I’ve promised to add a mystery bird to this series but haven’t thought of one yet! Any suggestions? 😂 I kind of have an Americas theme going here I think…

Yesterday I was walking through a small wooded area scanning the trees for Great spotted woodpecker that I could hear calling nearby. Imagine my shock and excitement when I spotted this stunning Long-eared owl watching me and then when just a few feet away a nest!

Great Horned Owl at Cypress Cemetery Old Saybrook Connecticut. Not centered great but I had to zoom from a far and was afraid it would fly away so I just kept snapping and kept the best captures.

Red shouldered hawk in a foggy FL morning.

Seen this morning. Fog was awful so the picture isn’t great but looked cool with such a dark background.
