Anyone know the title of this hockey romance book????

I'm looking for a hockey romance that I read a while ago, and I can't remember the title or any of the character names.

What I remember:

  • The MMC is a professional hockey player and a single dad to a little girl who is around 5–6 years old.
  • He has a reputation for being a player, but it's actually a misunderstanding because he always leaves after games to go home to his daughter.
  • The daughter is biologically his and is either selectively mute or barely speaks. She also struggles with anxiety.
  • The hero keeps his daughter out of the public eye because he's worried about media attention affecting her anxiety. Because of this, the daughter thinks he's ashamed of her.
  • There's a scene where the daughter sees her father get hit during a game on TV and has a panic attack.
  • At one point, the daughter gets a fever, and the stay-at-home nanny (I think she's a grad student) calls the FMC late at night because the little girl specifically asks for her.
  • The MMC's father is a famous rockstar and visits them at some point, the grand daighter and he cook together for everyone.
  • he also tells his teammates about his daughter at some time with the encouragement from the FMC
  • The MMC and his daughter live in a two-story brownstone near a park, and I remember a scene where they go out for ice cream.

Does anyone recognise this book?

MMC had cancer. That’s all I know 🫤.

Hey y’all. I’m trying to remember the name of a book that I read earlier this year (I’m pretty confident that it was published sometime in the 2020s). I believe I read it on Kindle, but it maybe been an audiobook too.

The characters and the author are Black.

I legit remember nothing from the book other than the fact that the MMC had cancer and he’s cancer free during the book. The chemo made him sterile and, even though a couple of women tried to pin a baby on him, he knew they were lying because they didn’t know about his cancer/sterility. I don’t know how he met the FMC, but she ends up pregnant by him towards the end of the story. I think he might’ve been on some treatment after beating cancer that somehow aided in restoring his fertility? Idk for real. And, during the book, another woman tried to claim he fathered her kid (that she’s currently pregnant with), and he denied because he was sterile. But, this was after he started whatever treatment that lead to him gaining fertility. So, that low-key could’ve been his kid, but they never touch on it again lol.

If any of that sounds familiar, please help. I don’t even remember any names, jobs, cities, NOTHING 😪. I just remember that I was entertained.

Cozy, romance novel with shy black heroine?

I've been trying to find a sweet romance novel with a shy/introverted, black FMC. Something really heartwarming.

If there is any novel like that, I would read it in a heartbeat! I've noticed that I haven't read any cozy romance books before, so I wanted to start here!

Looking for Black sapphic fantasy romance (moderate spice + political elements if possible)

Hi! I’m looking for very specific book recommendations and I’m having a hard time finding anything that fits.

I’m specifically looking for:
Black FMC (or a Black sapphic couple)
sapphic romance as a central relationship
fantasy / romantasy (magic, kingdoms, witches, fae, etc.)
preferably some political elements (court intrigue, empire, war, rebellion, etc.)
moderate spice (around 3/5, open-door / explicit scenes preferred)
adult (not YA)
Standalone is a bonus, but not required.

I’m also open to indie/self-published books if that’s where this kind of story is more common.

‘I’m yours MMC’

Heyy,

I’m looking for a book rec where the MMC is top level simp, and obsessed with the FMC.

Not, ‘I’ll punish anyone who makes you cry’ or ‘your mine’, nothing that type of toxic.

More an obsessed MMC that will kneel if she want him to, belongs to her, is wholly obsessed with her and what she wants, cooks for her, takes her shoes off, cries for her etc. something like that.

The FMC should be black, and Idm the MMC can be any race

I NEED A DARK ROMANCE THAT'LL RUIN MY WEEK.

okay y'all.. i need the most FUCKED UP dark romance you've got.

i want a REAL bully romance.

i want the mmc to genuinely hate her in the beginning. humiliate her. bully her. actually hurt her (physically too). i want her crying, breaking down, questioning everything. if it's a whole gang of boys making her life hell? even better. high school or college is a huge plus.

i don't want a morally gray mmc. i want morally BLACK. obsessive, possessive, cruel, manipulative... the kind that makes you question why you're still reading but you literally can't stop.

the darker the better. don't hold back. i've probably read worse TT

only thing i'm picky about is i'd rather it be newer or underrated. if it made you say "what the fuck did i just read," i want it.

ruin my week 🖤

Cowboy book recommendations

Does anyone have any recommendations for Black romance books with this kind of atmosphere?

I’m looking for something that feels similar to Joliet by Rae Lyse not necessarily the exact plot, but the overall vibe.

I would love: • An all-Black or predominantly Black small-town setting. • A cowboy/ranch romance (or just a rugged country MMC). • A heroine who’s escaping an abusive relationship, abusive family, or a painful past and comes to this quiet town to heal. • A patient, protective hero who shows her what healthy love actually looks like without trying to “fix” her overnight. • Found family, community, slow healing, and lots of emotional intimacy. • Cozy Southern/country atmosphere with horses, ranch life, cookouts, front porches, small-town gossip, and people looking out for one another.

Bonus points if the hero is successful but humble (or even struggling to keep the ranch afloat), and the romance is slow burn with plenty of yearning.

After August

First of all, thank you for creating this space.

Black romance ...absolutely deserves more corners of Reddit, so I love seeing this subreddit come together.

Second of all I'm Quinn Loveborne, an indie romance author, and I'd love to share my book After August here. I looked over the rules of the sub and could see author promo was welcome. It's an interracial contemporary billionaire romance with a biracial Black heroine, a cold grumpy MMC, fake marriage, enemies to lovers, secret identity, surprise pregnancy, boardroom drama, grief, scandal and way too much "I hate you, now kiss me" energy.

"I married my enemy to save my billion dollar company… and fell for the man who wasn't trying to catfishing me."

I started writing initially for my adopted sister (we're all adopted) who is a black lady and she has found lots of black authors now ...but initially when Mom took her to the waterstones (a book store in the UK) lo and behold there wasn't anything close to black or interracial romances in the 90s, that moment always stuck with me.

Anyways I didn't want to stomp in here throwing links around like a menace, so I wanted to ask first what kind of author posts you'd prefer. A blurb post? A trope list? A release post? So I'm leaving you with this TikTok video that annoyed my husband.

Either way, I'm excited this subreddit exists, and I'd love to be part of it.. Much love from one romance gremlin to another.

Are there any books where a black woman gets kissed on the inside of her wrist?

I’ve been seeing it a lot on TV but never with a black woman and I want to read a book where this happens to a black woman
