If you are not doing this on a regular basis you are asking for trouble.
Backup from : Settings > Back up content
Blogger will generate a zip file you can copy onto your computer.
I backup the themes separately, that way if I edit & mess one up I can restore the latest from my backup.

I have just made my first ever blog, and im really quite exited about it! I doubt it would get a whole lot of traction, as my 'topic' is essentially being a teenage girl, but I think itll be a new interesting way to use a diary.
Im curious tho, what are some other things that i can do with a blog?? Anything i could be 'missing out' on as someone new to the community? I really dont know much about this, so literally ANY tips and tricks are appreciated.

I run an established Blogger site on a custom domain that has been indexed normally for years, including in Google News. In late July, something changed very suddenly. Google Search Console began showing “Crawl allowed: Yes” but “Page fetch: Failed: Redirect error” on normal article URLs. At the same time, the ?m=1 versions of those same posts will sometimes index and appear in Google News. Facebook’s Sharing Debugger has also intermittently failed to generate previews and has been redirected to Google’s /sorry page with 429-style behavior. Other automated fetchers are seeing the same thing. Normal users can usually load the site fine.
The impact has been severe. Google crawl requests fell sharply from roughly 2,500/day, and Search impressions dropped from about 31,300 in one 7-day period to 1,010 in the next, while clicks fell from 459 to 35. Over the longer three-month comparison, average ranking position stayed almost exactly the same, which makes this look less like a normal ranking/quality drop and more like a crawl/indexing/access issue. Bing is still discovering and surfacing brand-new posts within an hour, including title, description, and image, while Google struggles with the canonical URL. Has anyone seen this exact combination on Blogger — redirect error on canonical URLs, ?m=1 indexing, 429/Google “sorry” behavior, and sudden crawl collapse — and if so, what actually fixed it?

In addition to the major issue many of us have encountered, following the blog restore, Meta Data seems to no longer being read properly.
We share our posts to social media manually so we can personalize each post, and it is hit or miss if the post can even be shared.
Sites such as X and Bluesky seem to be completely fine—the images load properly. Facebook and other Meta owned sites will pick up the title, but the image fails to be pulled. Flipboard works half of the time, and for other posts we simply get an error stating the url cannot be shared. Tumblr (surprisingly we have followers who still use it) works most of the time, but then randomly links are not detected. When sharing to Reddit, the link has to be added and removed 10+ times before both the title and image are pulled.
In addition to all of this, our favicon is gone because Google attempted to index our pages, and went down a mass deletion route. Our articles are slowly repopulating, but again the favicon for some reason reverted to one we used 14 years ago.
Anyone else having similar issues or know how to fix any of this?
With the latest "your blog is locked, no it's not, yes it is" issue with Google, are you sticking with Blogger or moving to WordPress, or some other platform?
I like Blogger, I have fine tuned my template over 10+ years, I have a workflow where I can create blog posting very quickly. I'm happy with Blogger, besides I don't trust Google, they might suddenly cancel and remove all bogs (give time to migrate to another platform at least),
And this latest issue was pretty bad, I can understand a false positive check happening, but the way they handle it is not ok, no communication from them on what happened and why it won't happen again, some sites getting locked second time, no way to request review on second time.
Also, they could simply tell us what the problem was with out site so we could change it, not just delete it and not allow access to any of the blogs that people created for years, some for 20 years.
When this first happened, I have been creating another site in WordPress, but I like Blogger better, probably since I am used to it and have work flow I have worked on for years. I'm not sure what I am going to do, stay with Blogger or move to a WordPress site.
I just got into blogging and made my blog YESTERDAY and worked all day on it with customisation and everything only to wake up today and find it completely gone what can i do to have it back and make it more secure ??
Buenas noches tengo una duda, cuando era niña usaba mucho Blogspot y lo dominaba bien jeje, pero ya han pasado años que lo deje de usar y ni siquiera le he hecho un ojo como está el sitio de blogger hoy en día.
Para ir al grano voy a crearme un blog para mí tienda virtual, quiero algo con diseño y creatividad no tan genérico como hoy en día las tiendas normalmente las ves más en redes sociales facebook, Instagram que en una página,ya hasta WhatsApp te crea un espacio para que vendas y pongas el precio y un botón para el consumidor jeje
Obvio el que no se mete a la onda de las ventas en redes sociales pierdes ventas.
Pero quise crear un blog para dejar una huella personal, ahorita ando diseñando yo misma el encabezado,los dibujos de presentación,los iconos,etc ya tengo en mi mente lo que quiero crear

Quiero crear un mini juego de vestir para mi blog, claro ya la creación es aparte ya es algo que luego me pongo con eso, por qué debo diseñar una base,como programar los movimientos,todo,etc y por supuesto diseñare mi juego desde 0
Y quería saber si logro el objetivo de crear ese mini juego puedo agregarlo a mi blog y como se hace ese proceso ? Así tipo miniatura recuerdo que muchas personas tenían minijuegos en sus blogs y pantallas para que la gente dibuje como un paint en el blog era muy lindo esos tiempos y la creatividad de las personas.
