Over turned the red card

From what I am hearing trump has over turned the red card against the USA regarding the Bosnia game. If’s this is what’s going on it is sad for the World Cup a thing that is supposed to unite people is now getting political.

What's the percentage of non-muslims in bosnia?

Not trying to start a debate or anything. But I noticed there are lot of atheists in this sub, so I was wondering if this was common in bosnia, or is it just like a small minority.

Sarajevo airport for gifts?

Leaving the city in a few days, would love to get some local sweets/baklava etc as gifts for family at home but have an issue with luggage space!

Is the stuff for sale at Sarajevo airport only poorer quality version as you often find with these things, or can I get some decent stuff there?

Thanks very much

We made history🇧🇦❤️

As the saying goes, “We may have lost the battle, but not the war.”
The match against the USA was really hard to watch, from the unfairness to the defeat. But our Dragons went out there and gave their hearts on that field.

Every player carried our love for this nation and the weight of the losses we suffered just to be here, to be visible, and to be recognized.
They tried to erase us, but they couldn’t.

It was heartwarming to see the lights on in living rooms at 3 in the morning, and to witness the celebrations from Zenica, Sarajevo, Travnik, and Tuzla, as well as from Germany, the Netherlands, and the USA. Even after the loss, we still cheered.

Because no matter the result, we still made history. We got out of the group stage, and that’s what matters. We’ll be even better next time,I know it in my heart.

I don’t know about you guys, but this World Cup has brightened the past few months for me. Even when we lost to Switzerland or drew with Canada, there were gatherings everywhere, songs being sung, and Bosnian flags proudly flying. The atmosphere was unforgettable, and we owe a huge thank you to our Dragons for giving us those moments.
It’s an emotional day, but it’s not the end of the battle.

I am so proud of our nation, and I know we can achieve even more. ❤️🐉🇧🇦

From an American, thank you.

I really love and respect the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I especially loved your solidarity with Palestine. Thank you for being a good opponent.

Much love,

From an American.

I am from Bosnia put me back in Baščaršija. Absolute disgrace how we’re playing football

the whole time passing the ball back to the goalie. meanwhile USA is pressuring us hard the whole time. No urgency in the second half. even the Arabic commentator said ”what are you waiting for Bosnia? are you waiting to concede a second goal to start attacking?”

we have great players but play poorly as a team. draw against canada and barely won Qatar? even Turkey won America 3-2. We looked like amateurs

1 we looked like amateurs having 5 defenders and no other plan against America .

2 we played more in our side of the pitch than theirs. We even lost with an extra player.

3 even after conceding the second goal we didn’t play in an urgency, only until the last 10 mins of extra time (which is crazy) we started pressuring America.

  1. What the hell does America and Canada know about football? As Bosnians football is all we have on a world stage and we still sucked.

5 knocked out Italy but lost against Switzerland, drew with Canada and barely won Qatar? This makes no

sense

6 70% of teams qualified to the Next stage. qualifying as “the best of the worst“ isn’t something to be proud of.

7 I’m not asking to win against France or Brazil, but to play with a strong smart strategy like the Americans did against us. Look at moroccco and how they’re playing. I can barely name 2 players, yet in 2022 they were third and this year they’re very strong again. why? bec theyre playing with tactics and strong strategies

edit: puno vas nepotrebno psujete u komentarima i veoma ste nepošteni i pičke, psujete a ja objektivno pričam o fudbalu

GG Bosnia

Sorry in advance for my fellow countrymen that will inevitably come here to rub salt in the wound. Your team chose my city as their base camp and I went to go see them practice, so it’s bittersweet to root against them and see them go. Hopefully you qualify for and have better luck in the Euros in a couple years 🙏.

Ciji su bosanski ljiljani?

Pozdrav dobri ljudi.

Prvi grb Federacije BiH

I tu mozda lezi sva problematika. Bosnjaci stavljaju znak jednakosti izmedju BOSANSKO i BOSNJACKO.

to my fellow bosnians

i wanted to say that even though we didn't play our best and there are things we definitely need to work on, i just can't be mad at the guys, nor at barbarez. i'm so, so proud of them, so grateful to have them as our representatives.
at the end of the day, they brought us to the knockout stage. they gave us that incredible feeling of humbling wales and italy, especially after all the disrespect and racism we've been facing. i know the internet is going to be toxic now, and we'll probably get a lot of hate from rivals, but at least our guys left their hearts on the field. and that's what hurts the most right now, i'm just going to miss seeing them play so much. i'll miss seeing our people going viral for all the best things they could've possibly done.
i'm genuinely looking forward to the next games. i'm glad barbarez has been a good coach for us, despite some questionable choices and frustrating moments, but it’s okay. it's part of the journey (even though i wished to see mahmić and tabaković play a bit more, but well...)
what matters most is that bosnia got the recognition we deserve. our history is finally getting attention, tourism is growing, and foreigners are actually praising our people and the bh fanaticos. seeing the world respect our culture and our passion is worth so much more than a single match. so proud of our country and our boys, no matter what.

ps: can we please ban the team from going to the barber before a match? each time they get a haircut they lose 😭😭😭😭 i swear i'm gonna sue him 😭😭😭😭 (jk, but... hahah)

American here: Good game Bosnia

Was a great match.

I think we controlled the midfield, but your team played patiently in the box. Bosnia definitely out muscled us in the box.

I think the Bosnian team has a bright future.

Also, shout out to Bajraktarević.

Hotel in Mostar or Sarajevo?

Hi,

I’m planning to travel to Bosnia during my annual leave, just to relax, as a solo female traveller. I’m going for 5 full days.

I’m wondering if I should get my hotel in Mostar or Sarajevo. I’m not really interested in doing 2 days in a hotel in Mostar and then 2 days in Sarajevo. I just recently got back from a vacation where we changed hotels 5 times because we went to 5 different cities, and it was so exhausting. I want to stay in one hotel for all of my stay.

I mostly want to relax in a quiet, beautiful, scenic area (so I assume Mostar?). But at the same time, I am interested in going out to explore and do intend to eat outside for all of my meals. I also don’t want to feel too isolated, as this is my first solo trip and I’m a little scared.
