A huge upgrade over the original Blu Ray transfers. Now hopefully we get a 4K release for Duck, You Sucker as well.
Arrow TMNT Blu-ray
I really want to pick up the TMNT trilogy from Arrow, and can’t decide between the box with all of the cards and extras, or just the movies. Haven’t upgraded my setup for a 4k player, so it’ll be the blu-ray release. I’ve seen a lot of people post about these, and I’m not sure if the extras are worth it. I also say this as someone who started collecting physical media this year, and outside of the books in some Criterion’s that I have, this could potentially be my first “deluxe” pickup.

Determined to get all of Hal Ashby's best films but I think Coming Home and Bound for Glory are going to prove challenging to get hold of, especially without breaking the bank
A couple more for the collection!!

youtube.comQuestion about restocking
Hello all, hope you’re well. I just had a question for you all. Do boutique places like Vinegar Syndrome, Criterion, and Umbrella Entertainment (which is actually the site in question. Do they ever restock after sell-through of their product? Or am I out of luck. There was a “contact me” box which I filled out. Not sure if that even helps.
I appreciate any feedback at all!
Anyone else finding Skullpanda pieces outside of official drops?
I’ve been collecting Skullpanda for a bit now, mostly sticking to official drops, but lately I’ve also been exploring secondhand options. I’ve seen some interesting listings through trades, resellers, and even a few live auctions on whatnot.
What surprised me is how often older series, opened boxes, or dupes pop up when people are downsizing collections. It feels more relaxed than fighting drop times, and sometimes you get to hear why someone is letting a piece go.
Not trying to buy or sell here, just curious. Are most of you sticking strictly to drops, or are you also picking up Skullpanda through secondhand or live platforms?
Is this worth returning?
My Arrow 4K of the Dollars Trilogy just arrived from DiabolikDVD and there is some fraying on the top edge. Is this worth returning over or just normal wear?
EDIT: I’ve decided to probably not return it as A. I’m almost certain it came like that for Arrow as Diabolik package their stuff very well and B. It honestly doesn’t bother me enough to cause hassle to the store or me having this out of hand for that long. The only thing I would ask is: Is there any way to like email Arrow themselves for a replacement box if I show them the damage?
For those who have the TCM Chain Reactions set from Dark Sky, the audio is f'd on the Wizard VHS version. Replacement discs available!
The Killer(s)
The Imprint release just arrived. I think it has the best looking cover art.
Aside from the playback issue with the Arrow release, which has the best content? Best subtitles? I love the movie, it’s not often I buy so many releases of the same movie.
I also love Imprint hardboxes. 🤦♂️
Weirdness with an Amazon disc return--has anyone else seen anything like this? (I realize this may be OT enough to be removed.)
I ordered Shout's first Herzog collection and it came obviously used--no shrinkwrap and the cardboard case was slightly damaged in three places. The discs seemed okay, but I wasn't about to test every one, and I was annoyed they'd sent a used item in the first place so I started a return.
First, they didn't offer the option to replace with the exact same item, even though they still have it in stock. I was offered an exchange for a different item from two lists --one based on my browsing history and the other on my wish lists.
Then, when I chose a refund, it offered me Whole Foods, Sheetz (?) and Rent-a-Center (???) as the free drop off locations. UPS Store cost $1.00. The UPS Store is far more convenient so I chose that and it tried to push me to choose one of the free options.
I don't think I've ever done a return of an in-stock item and not been offered an exact replacement, and I've DEFINITELY never been charged a dollar (or anything) to drop off at a UPS Store. Is this UPS Store charge a new thing or have I just never encountered it before? I think I vaguely remember Sheetz taking Amazon returns, but I don't remember it being an option for me before. And Rent-a-Center? I could have even sworn that company still existed.
Shout Factory
What are the best Shout Factory 4k titles, in anticipation of tomorrow’s GRUV Day
Awesome mail day!
Still legitimately shocked that The Dark Backward is a special edition from Sony and not a boutique. Maybe they figured they would give their cult titles a shot since Night of the Living Dead '90's 4k sold so well?
Someone started a petition to prevent Kino's release of Triumph of the Will
New arrival from yesterday
I'm so glad that Arrow released this set after I couldn't get the Limited Editions from last year. I love all three of those movies and I can't wait to experience them in 4k.
New Pickups
Lots of good stuff here! Most I've seen and The Warriors and Invincible Eight are blind buys.
Anyone know where I can buy this A24 release of The Souvenir Part I and II from the UK and/or EU? Please don't comment US sites lmfao
Is the US Arrow Conan the Barbarian Blu Ray release region locked?
Hi, I'm looking at buying the Arrow blu ray release of Conan the Barbarian from the US as it is unlikely we will get a similar uncut release in the UK due to silly BBFC rules so was hoping someone could help me answer a couple of questions please;
I know it's unlikely but is the blu ray region free? I know that the 4K is region free but I don't have a 4K TV.
If the blu ray is region locked, how will the 4K disc look on my TV playing on a PS5? Identical to the blu ray, or would it look worse due to the lack of HDR?
Thanks.
