Questions about Radiance from a recent convert

I've recently been turned on to Radiance and this year alone, they have released two releases that I want. The issue is that they're a British company and I'm Canadian. Neither of these releases are exactly time sensitive, so I was wondering if there are regular Radiance sales the same way as something like Criterion. If so, do they include new releases?

Also, I know Radiance recently opened an American store. I tried looking for these things on there and, with the conversion rate and shipping from the US, it would still be cheaper for me to order from the UK. What's the deal with that? I'm mainly here about the first question, but this has me vexed!

EDIT: In case anyone finds out any hot tips, I am looking for the Treasures from the Golestan Studio collection and Simone Barbes or Virtue. The latter is quite cheap and I can get it from the UK for the same price as a Criterion in a store here, but I am dying for the former. I have been wanting a copy of The House is Black in my collection and just assumed it was a pipe dream.

Alot of red for the past two days deliveries

I feel like I placed that 3 for 20 Blu-ray sale on gruv just this week and they already arrived! Some fun stuff to get through. The 3 Blu-ray movies I was tired of waiting for 4k copies of, so it'll do for now.

Will we ever get a 4K of The Hours (2002)?

I know 88 Films recently put it out on blu ray but my kingdom for Criterion or another gorgeous boutique label to give it the respect it deserves with a 4K release (complete with a lil booklet, lovely special features, etc) 😭

Has anyone in the US gotten an update about Salo from wicked shop yet?or got the set?

I never got my pdf for the booklet, and while they do ask for patience before bothering them about orders, ive been waiting to even get an update on orders coming here in the first place for the better part of a month now i think

The thread ive been following kinda stopped updating about this for the time being.

Is this normal for them?

Does it really take that long for them to come over from germany?

Boutique link-posts being removed on a certain forum

For maybe the last two weeks on BR, people have posted links to boutique stores that are carrying new releases, and the posts get either deleted, or edited to Amazon links.

I can't post a link to it because the links have been removed but it's happened several times today alone.

Blair witch second sight box edition went back in stock will they fulfil it?

I was browsing HMV website when I saw the Blair witch second sight box (the 44.99 edition) was in stock and I could buy it. It’s authorised and in my orders and now it’s saying sold out. Do you think it’s a mistake or was there a small restock of it?

Thoughts on Reviver 3 (Vinegar Syndrome)

Overall, I enjoyed Reviver 3.

This edition of the series collects short films that would otherwise be lost to time.

Some of these are wonderfully weird, some interesting, and some even. touching,

However, a few are brutally boring. (Especially, “Secret of 76”, “Rock Hounds” and that puppet show about dentistry.)

Because the Reviver concept is about mystery, I won’t say more.

What did you think?

Vinegar Syndrome 80's Trash-Horror Haul

I found the so bad it's good section. Love me some 80's B movie camp. Just looking for a good time and a couple of drinks. Anyone?

The Suckling (1990) - Unhinged dark camp featuring a mutated fetus monster, gore, and sleaze

Spookies (1986) - cheesy wild practical effects, disjointed story with nonsensical plot, and tons of cheap thrills

Blood Delerium (1988) - trashy, campy, eccentric, and over the top with gothic atmosphere, crude gore, and wild surrealisim

Devil's Story (1986) - incoherent surreal fever dream with no actual plot

Queen Margot / La Reine Margot / Die Bartholomäusnacht (1994) 4K/UHD

I managed to get my hands on this lovely Mediabook of the 1994 film Queen Margot.

The cover has a rough texture, which suggests that the paper has been produced using traditional methods. This gives the whole thing a very high-quality feel.

Both the 4K UHD and the standard Blu-ray are based on a 4K transfer of the original film negative, which was carried out in 2021. The DVD contains the uncut, extended version of the film, which is based on an older digital transfer.

Overall, there are a number of digital extras included, amongst others, a ‘making-of’ feature, a conversation between the screenwriters, a documentary on the historical background, deleted scenes and more.

Release by Capelight Pictures

I can't believe this just happened!

Trying to get my disc out and it snapped. Luckily for some reason I ordered two copies. I guess this is why, lol. O well shit happens!

Boutique not paying worker(s)

Just wanted to share here—the label isn't mentioned, but the author does a lot of work with genre titles, writing highly detailed and thoughtful essays for blu ray booklets. I hope exploiting workers is not a standard practice and does not become one. Boutique labels should understand that not paying workers is a despicable practice on par with using AI.
