brakence never finished the hypochondriac tour .. theory?

okay sooo i was supposed to go to the columbus (maybe it was cleveland) show of hypochondriac tour. there were 13 show dates. he cancelled the columbus (again, maybe it was cleveland?) show - which was the last show date .. so.. only did 12/13
introvert:
This is a message from the twelfth of thirteen
Brakence has been successfully eradicated
We came to the conclusion that he would rather make selfish art
Than serve a higher purpose
So when you hit replay, ask yourself these questions
Who are you really listening to?
And where is the line between art and dark magic?
Because that man had no idea

and then.. he slowly dropped off the face of the earth.
is there a correlation orrrr am i reaching ??

also going along with the theories of him being shelved.. do we think it MAY be bc he couldn’t finish 13 show dates before being exhausted/unwell so label maybe didn’t see a point in him getting bigger bc he couldn’t do bigger tours —-> no more money ???

Searching for a song

Hi, cringe incoming but I have these lyrics in my heads I think I’m mixing songs?
Please help me find the name

Further hints, there is some lyrics:
Let you know
I’ll let you know
[less sure about this one:] what I’ve down
And then maybe there is a female voice close to Softie song “is a telephone?” (So call me to accord
You know I've been caught up in my lie
Heaven was the curse (Is it a telephone?)

any correlation?

a music artist by the name of sharkbarksss has released a new song called "excalibur" with another artist called "adamn killa" that includes the "you are now in a state of suspended animation" sample thingy.. just wondering if that means anything?

Did Brakence get shelved by his label?

I was a really big fan of brakence back in the time period between punk2 and Hypochondriac, I was in college at the time and actually played a bunch of his stuff on our college radio station lol.

But, having been semi-seriously-involved with music at the time, I learned a lot about the music industry. Alongside the radio stuff, I had a handful of friends who were making music and some got contacted by labels.

I know that a lot of people think brakence hasn't been releasing any new songs because he wants to "step away" from the spotlight, but I can't help but wonder if it's actually that his label may have "shelved" him. In other words, putting roadblocks in his way of releasing music in order to pretty much take him out of the market as a competitor for their other acts. Sure enough he's appeared as a feature on a few songs, but I've seen labels do that with "shelved" artists before as just a way to promote the primary artist on a song. Tbh, I think this may have happened with a bunch of the hyperpop artists that got really big back around 2020 and signed to major labels.

From what I remember, punk2 and his previous music did well enough independently to get the attention of Columbia, who signed him. Hypochondriac was his first "studio" release, and even though it did well, I wouldn't be surprised if Columbia was disappointed with the numbers from it. Major music labels are notorious for having ridiculous goals for newer/smaller artists while also providing them little promotion or support.

how do I achieve this kind of Vocals

I am new to vocal mixing. I am still learning about FXs. I want to achieve this kind of effect for a voice over. So far what I can understand is that its a vocal double panned right and left. they added effects to give it a whisper texture (plosives, kk-s, tt-s). I'm trying to play around with EQ but not getting the similar result. can some analyze and help me with this?

music that's brakence-adjacent

i saw someone post the other day regarding looking for music similar to brakence's. there was a comment that recommended the artist hayes howard. his album "javelin"... holy shit it's incredible. i don't think his music is necessarily similar to brakence, but it's strangely hopeful and the production is BEAUTIFUL. this album has been on repeat for like 2 weeks, i'm obsessed. this album is deep and vulnerable and i believe this work of art is some of the best i've heard.

it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea, it took me a few listens through to click, but i'm absolutely hooked. thank you to that commenter for posting about this album and i hope you all can give it a listen!! he deserves a million more listeners than he has now fr

i sang teeth (the first verse)

straight up the video is not the vox i recorded, my voice is way way lighter than brakence's so it took a lot of EQ'ing, chopping, and editing to get it to sound semi-decent. the vocal chain is also just so different from what i am used to, took a while to get right. i spent about an hour and a half on this

Vocal production

Hey everyone, I was super interested in learning how brakence uses abeltons OTT to achieve his heavily compressed vocals. I’m quite new to OTT and find that it squashes my vocals a little too much. I really like how upfront brakence vocals are, but I can seem to make out how I need to adjust the OTT settings.
