I loved beta phase of Containers what seems handy than Firefox's one due to built-in feature instead of addon/extension.

Workspaces may help me to organize complex tasks way easier than ever.

Brave team at last works on serious features rather than shitty Web3-AI etc.

I forgot to mention what Brave Workspaces won't be dedicated multi windows but all in one window for easy switch as Vivaldi not alike Edge.

Is there a way to remove this Icon??? it's ugly... Are they planing to allow us to remove it?

my default browser app keeps on returning to chrome despite me choosing brave as the default browser. this has been happening for about 5 days and i thought i was tweaking but it actually is happening!!!

whenever i open links it will change back to chrome, does anyone know how to fix this? i hate chrome and has been using brave for abt a year and this is the first time this happened!! thanks a lot

Recently ViolentMonkey got disabled in Brave browser, making impossible to run neither extract userscripts you made while having the extension.

I wrote a windowed Python script for extracting the scripts from *.ldb database into separated *.js files. (After installing, don't launch *.js files directly in the Windows – you should open them as text files and copy-paste contents of each into a new script of... OrangeMonkey or something.)

How to use it:

1. Install Python, if you don't have https://www.python.org/;

3. Download the script: https://pastebin.com/GtmEaGuQ . Name the file, like, vm_extractor_eng.pyw.

4. Launch by double-clicking (in Windows). Probably works on Linux and Mac as well.

5. Load the file (by drag-and-dropping or with Open File button). The location is: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User-Data\Default\Local Extension Settings\jinjaccalgkegednnccohejagnlnfdag\000005.ldb, or similar. (jinjaccalgkegednnccohejagnlnfdag was the id for latest ViolentMonkey https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/violentmonkey/jinjaccalgkegednnccohejagnlnfdag?pli=1.)

6. It's recommended to enable the "Show only the latest version of each script". As you can see, old versions of scripts also stored in the database; even those that you completely deleted, still will appear – if you disabled the checkbox.

7. Click Save All and choose a folder.

8. Using your new scripts engine (like OrangeMonkey), create new userscript for every file and copy-paste the content. Notice that for make OrangeMonkey work, you should enable "Allow User Scripts" here: extensions button → Manage extensions → Orange Monkey's "Details" → enable Allow User Scripts; then you have to relaunch browser, that is close all browser's windows then open the browser again.

Yesterday my Windows machine went black screen and shut down on its own. It is Microslop, so I cannot expect more from it. I guess a recent bad update caused it.

But surprisingly, when I turn on my machine, Brave settings went completely default as if it installed as new. The interesting part is that history and bookmarks are kept as they are, and even the previous tabs as well. But all the settings and sync are gone.

Thankfully I logged in to it on my Android so got things from there. But if I had not logged in and Brave had not kept bookmarks, I would have been done for. My bookmark setup from two years ago would have pissed me off if I hadn't found it.

After seeing this, I am moving my primary browsing away from Brave. Because last week I also found that the Android version is not blocking all ads even with aggressive mode on and filters updated. My main use case was no ads, which is why I switched to Brave 4 years ago. Now it looks like the golden era is fading away.

After MV2, Brave is definitely still a solid Chromium option. But I cannot rely on Brave alone, because I feel they are trying to do multiple things at the same time with a single piece of software. Now it's more like an ecosystem OS than a simple browser to me.

And yes, I have Floorp and Edge installed on the machine and they are completely fine, the same as all other apps. Only Brave got wiped out.

Brave keeps disabling my extensions. The top left one (Video Downloader Online) was unpacked and manually installed from a folder I had it saved it, but they still disabled it. The rest were from the Chrome store.

You can see from the screenshot that Brave has disabled 3/4 of my extensions and the one I'm still able to use has a warning on it. Very frustrating.

How can I stop this happening? Thanks.
