Breville bambino plus - am I not caring for my machine properly or is it broken?
We got a breville bambino plus and separate breville bean grinder. Bean grinder is super easy to use and perfect. The bambino plus has been a huge pain. The milk steamer constantly clogs and doesn't properly steam the milk. But most annoying is very frequently, when we got to brew the espresso, it will make a loud noise, spit out some steam, and stop working. Then when i push the button again it pushes the water through for a very short time (not what it should be doing for a double shot) with no crema and its sour. Im now descaling and cleaning way more frequently than the user manual suggests I should be. Does this happen to anyone else? Any suggestions?
Breville express impress inner burr does not lock properly
I cleaned up everything, when i tried to lock it, there’s no clicking sound
My BeS920 is leaking at the boiler
I can hear a slight leak from my Breville dual boiler BES920 at the hose end from the steam valve that goes into the boiler.
I can remove the clip but the hose doesn't pull out with moderate force.
Is there an o ring in this end of the hose or how do I fix a leak there?
Older Breville Barista Express BES870CBXL won't build pressure past pre-infusion, already cleaned/descaled with vinegar
Bought an older BES870CBXL used. It has the older fixed upper burr with no internal burr adjustment. Machine is cosmetically very clean, and the previous owner barely used it, or so it appears.
Problem: pressure gauge only reaches around the pre-infusion range. At external grind setting 1, espresso still flows very quickly with low pressure.

What I've done:
- Cleaning tablet/backflush cycle
- Descale with 50:50 vinegar/water
- Fresh-water rinse
- Water tank full/seated
- Group head, hot water and steam all function
- Tested the silicone Breville cleaning disc, but mine is the older version with the small hole, so I realize that's not a true blind-disc pressure test
Has anyone else faced similar issues and resolved them?
Thank you in advance.
IMS Competition Convex Filter for Breville the Oracle Touch? Does it even work? Which size?
The standard basket is simply too big for me taste. (pun intended)
And the single basket is too small.
Instead of 20-21g with the big basket (I cannot get the big basket any lower without risking losing the grub screw that holds the tamping fan fixture together) or 9.5-11g on the small basket, I'd like to get somewhere between 14 and 16 grams per shot.
Now, the IMS Competition Convex Basket was recommended to me previously, and I like the idea of it.
But there are several quesitons that remain:
- Does it work with the standard Portafilter of the Oracle? (it says it's great for bottomless, but since the basket isn't very deep, and the liquid is supposed to get out into the spout anyways, I figure that's not an issue?
- Does that basket work with the auto-tamping fan-thingy of the Oracle? I've read about puck spinning, but also that using a slightly damp filter basket would prevent this. Also, is it really more prone to spuck spinning than the standard big basket (which does not have a rough surface either)
- Which size would I need for the dose to come out at around 14-16g with the auto tamping mechanism? On the seller's site for the basket, they list the H22 as for 16g.. But Google and AI and co say to get the H24 instead..

Some additional information:
We drink Cappuccino 99% of the time, maybe a Cortado a week.
My preferred beans are dark roasted Arabica/Robusta Blends with chocolaty flavours (molasses, caramel, nuts, whatever.. lowest possible acidity rating I can find)
I can adjust the tamping fan up and down maybe 1-1.5mm but I'm not sure how much that would really affect the dose in this basket, or whether it would even work properly. (from my testing with the default basket, I was able to get maybe 1.5g lower dose compared to stock setting.
Disclaimer: I know that using a single dose grinder, wdt tool, tamper, etc. would give me more consistent results. And maybe some day we will go for a setup like this. But for the next 5+ years, I'm perfectly content with the grinder and auto-tamping and especially the milk frother that does a fantastic job with my milk. The machine is great, easy to use, and quick in the morning. My only gripe really is that there's no middle ground basket supplied.
All that said, would you recommend another basket altogether?
Breville Barista Express
My machine is about 3 years old. My pressure gauge has quit on me. And the machine does not produce enough pressure for a proper shot. I have cleaned. I have descaled. Many times. I think this is just a crappy overpriced espresso machine. Let me know your thoughts.
