Tyler callihan deserves a spot on the roster the rest of the season and is a quality utility guy especially offensively.
Even after today's game his OPS+ is around 120 and he has an .831 OPS. He's providing above average offense and can play multiple infield spots as well as OF spots if he's asked too. A utility guy who can actually hit is a luxury to have and it means their isn't really a drop off when he's in the lineup so somebody can rest. I like his game and I think he's a solid player personally.
Gonzo should be on the All-Star Team
I was perusing the batting stats for NL 3rd basemen in 2026 thus far, and Gonzo has the top BA, has at least 25 more hits than anyone on ESPN’s 3rd basemen rankings (which are decidedly meaningless, given ESPN of late). Comparable RBI, Better OBP, and a host of other metrics.
The only things I see him lagging in are HRs and drawing walks (although he’s hitting at a better clip, so who needs walks? Clearly his OBP isn’t suffering for it.)
The only thing this really tells me is that the All Star Game is dumb and completely out of step with furnishing us the best players to compete in the Summer Classic.
Why don’t we just have a skills competition like the NFL does and be done with it. Unbelievable how Gonzo is getting shafted.
Edit: I can’t believe there are people downvoting the suggestion that Nick Gonzales should be on the AS team and that the current system is complete garbage.
Peyton Manning has the most AP MVP vote shares (4.58) of any player in NFL history

reddit.comProbably why skenes got in over Ashcraft, also complimentary Keller blows post
[Beazley] The Pirates have selected RHP Noah Murdock to the 40-man roster and optioned him to Triple-A Indianapolis. Murdock has a 4.26 ERA in 12 2/3 innings at Indy. To clear a space, they designated infielder Davis Wendzel for assignment.
x.comThis red snake needs to be stopped. Let's win today!
Not a fan of this 12 square-long red snake from Houston, let's stop it!
Esmerlyn Valdez savant page shows a guy who's hitting at a sustainable rate. He's hitting the sweet spot of the ball and pounding the ball with absolute authority. Elite stuff.
It's a faded red cause he dosen't have enough AB's to qualify fully, but the data so far is phenomenal. No red flags really besides his whiff rate but who cares if he whiffs when everything else is elite and he's hitting for a ton of power.
Custom Cone
My daughter made some custom cones to bring to today's game. Let's go!!!!
Skenes is the all-star, Ashcraft wasn't even considered.
Let's share the stats so that MLBPA can use this as another example of how MLB doesn't care about the players other than their stars. This is insane. Braxton is 100% an All-Star pitcher. Kyle Harrison of the Brewers not being selected either is wild.
