As much as I enjoyed season 9, I feel like the show has lost the main storyline. The main antagonist are all out of the picture with Rick Prime dead and Evil Morty incarcerated.

My main joy from watching this show came from the Evil Morty story arc and I’m sure many would agree.

I hope to see a new storyline created that introduces a new main antagonist or a story arc that can be carried on for seasons like the Evil Morty storyline.

EPISODE IDEA:

If I could create a new story arc I’d have Rick and Morty go on an adventure and Morty dies. As we all have seen especially in the latest season, Rick has a deep regard for Morty. He even was willing to sacrifice himself once to save Morty in the episode "A Rickle in Time" (Season 2, Episode 1).
Anyway, Morty’s death would cause Rick to seek Morty’s revival by doing something we all know he despises…time travel or as he calls it “the Long Island iced tea of science fiction.” Rick would essentially go back in time to stop the event from happening. However, to do so he’d have to seek help from Evil Morty who is currently locked in time prison. Rick would break Evil Morty out of time prison and in exchange Evil Morty would “help” Rick build this Time Machine.
Plot twist: Rick was only using Evil Morty so that he could take the place of Morty Prime’s death. This way the time police would never come searching for him. I know this part doesn’t make much sense but, I thought it would be a nice touch.

If you could create an episode or new story arc for Rick and Morty what would you do?

In a parallel multiverse, the concept of chronological seniority is a paradox; millions of Ricks across separate dimensions drew their first breath at the exact same cosmic millisecond. To ensure Morty never logs off or breaks the co-dependent loop, Rick continuously escalates the chaos, manufacturing universe-shattering adventures to combat Mortys boredom. In episodes like "The Vat of Acid Episode," Rick willingly massacres thousands of parallel "probable selves" of Morty just to win a petty argument and maintain emotional dominance. The multiverse is not collapsing due to an organic cosmic anomaly; it is fracturing because a god-like developer is running heavy, destructive simulations on a finite server just to keep a teenager entertained.

Ultimately, *Rick and Morty* is a narrative about the boundaries of an artificial world. By tracking the timeline down to its absolute root, the illusion of an infinite cosmic frontier completely evaporates. There is no original Rick left to steady the ship, and the "infinite" variants we see are merely data points fading into static inside a closed sandbox. As C-137 continues to manipulate the zeros and ones of the Central Finite Curve for the amusement of Morty Prime, the system faces an inevitable endgame. When Evil Morty punctured a hole through the Curve, he exposed the matrix to the true, uncurated infinity waiting outside the wall. Rick C-137 may have won his war against his creator, but by treating a finite multiverse as a disposable playground, he has ensured its slow, irreversible collapse leaving him to rule over a rotting digital empire.

My theory is that Rick became the way he is because of both Morty and Diane’s death.

In Season 9, Episode 10, we see that Rick was sober and doing perfectly fine without a Morty. However, once a Morty entered his life, Rick slowly became more like the “regular” Ricks we know. Sober Rick’s wife even says something along the lines of Morty “poisoning his mind,” which could be an important clue.

I think Morty being around Ricks is one of the main reasons Rick eventually became the Rick we know. Rick had already wanted to create a portal gun before Morty came into his life, just like other Ricks. However, when Morty wanted to get home, Rick started working on the portal gun again. Doing this may have caused him to relapse into drinking, which slowly pushed him back toward becoming a more typical Rick.

So, my theory is that Diane’s death and Morty’s presence are the two major factors that shaped Rick into the person he became. Diane’s death caused the original trauma, while Morty’s arrival may have triggered Rick’s return to the unhealthy habits and personality that define the “Rick” we know.

Also during that episode, as Sober Rick drink, he became more like Ricks, saying very cokcy stuff.

whats the motive of killing all Diane in all multiverse and idk im just saying that my theory is that Diane accidentally wiped out Rick Prime’s parent in front of his eyes in omega device and thats the reason we never see his parent in this entire show.. for me its kinda diabolical if Rick Prime motive was only wiping out Diane just only Rick C-137 or any other Rick upset his feeling.

Otherwise idk what the point is of stretching thin the talent, using up jokes, animation gags, etc. in this lesser show? It must be a whole other team right? Like. Right? This must be a training grounds for Future Rick and Morty creators.

I believe there will be an episode in which Morty rebuilds the Prime Universe. He could do this by stealing some of the stuff from Rick C-137 and bringing in other humans, probably around 40% Jessica and 60% Mortys. He has the base of Rick Prime there, so he could steal from him too.

Evil Morty would support Morty Prime because the entire Citadel has been destroyed, and millions of Mortys need a home. When Mortys come from different dimensions, they steal technology from their Ricks and scan everything, so every Morty could eventually be on Rick's level.
