Help identifying part on Holley 4160-3310

Help identifying part on Holley 4160-3310

Accidentally didn’t take photo of secondary vac when I pulled it off to replace diaphragm. I’m pretty sure it was held to body/vac housing by a vac housing bolt (1 of 3). And I think the other side sat on a peg maybe on main throttle body thing under where choke would be to keep primary side slightly cracked. This carb has a choke delete. Sbc 406. Thanks for any help

“Modify” carb.

Is it possible to rotate this nipple? In its present position, it points right up to the gas tank with no room for a filter.

81 cm400 only runs on left cylinder. Right cylinder fires when I spray starting fluid. Carb seems to be clean and air shutoff valve diagram is good. Any ideas?

Am I missing a piece?

I have an ‘03 Honda Shadow Spirit. I have to remove the carb to clean it and I noticed that one side is missing the gold colored pin that is located right next to a connector. Both sides have plugs that would fit onto said pin, but the right side side is missing the pin. You can see the plug that goes over the pin in the fourth picture in the bottom left corner. I couldn’t seem to find it on a parts website for the bike. Any help is appreciated!

Brown oil (coolant)??

Is it alright?

Me and my buddy changed the oil on my car the other day. Got chocolate milk looking oil but it seems darker in the drain pan. I do not have white smoke outbthe exhaust and my car only had one time where the coolant dropped below the low line, I refilled the coolant and it hasnt dropped since. Is this something to really worry about or does it look like it can be normal. No weird engine noises, no major concerns or weird stuff. And if It was a gasket or something would I get a check engine or a Dtc? 2023 nissan altima sv

Need Advice

For starters this Carb I’ve been trying to get the Idle Tuned and for the life of me could not figure it out well long story short the car stalled and would not roll over after when I started it the base gasket started leaking I don’t know if I flooded it, or if the gaskets are just worn from my knowledge it’s original I don’t know if the carb has been rebuilt or not before. But I’m wondering do I rebuild this carb or do I slap a Chinese carb and call it a day and can someone confirm what kind of carb this is. I believe a Holley 1945, I have never rebuilt a carb so km wondering what I should do. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Carbureted cars more difficult to start in hot weather

Dodge diplomat 318 two barrel. with all the heat my we’ve been suffering through my daily driver M body took a couple more seconds to start when I cranked it. The carburetor is running a little rich. Have you folks that have carbureted cars ever had more difficulty starting it in extra hot weather? In extreme heat cold start I usually do two pumps 1/2 times - Two pumps that are 1/2 down when the engine is cold, second start of the day after around four hours I do one half pump; that’s where it took about two seconds longer to crank it. It’s still starting on the first crank every time Did you have to modify the way you started it to accommodate for the hot weather? if so, how how many pumps, how many times. Thanks.

Toyota Corona

Fixed a nice Toyota Corona. Owner was disappointed with 3000 rpm idle. The problem was caused by improperly installed and broken accelerator pump rod and missing 12 volts on idle jet relay. Also the float chamber was full of dirt

Holley 600 rebuild issue

I just rebuilt my Holley 600 and when I started up the engine fuel started leaking from the plugs that go where the adjustment nut would be for the needle and seat on the primary bowl and secondary bowl. I did soak the fuel bowls in Berrymans carb cleaner from AutoZone for about 30 min. I took the fuel bowls back off and the needle and seat seem to be working fine. I poured some alcohol inside the fuel bowl at the brass cap and none leaked out. I guess it needs to be under pressure. Should I have not soaked them in carb cleaner. I would think that would be a normal part of the process and I am sure I did it as a kid. Any thoughts on why it is leaking from there. Thanks.

How do I tune the carburetor for an engine its not originally for?

I have a '59 fairlane, new to me, desperately needed a carburetor rebuild. Got all the parts, cleaned, rebuilt and now I'm at the tuning stage. I realized pretty early on this isn't the original carburetor, which I kind of excepted with it being so old. The carburetor it has in it is an Autolite 2100, with a tag of D0AF-AA, comes back to a 1970 Ford/Mercury. My question might be stupid, but do I tune the dry specs to the specs for the carburetor, or to the specs that the original carburetor would've ran? Or something in between/completely different? I'm new to carbureted engines, so I'm not completely sure what all will need to be accounted for in the tuning. Whoever did it last had it bad enough the butterfly would just shut while you were driving and flood the carburetor, so the bar is fairly low. I just need really any help

Fuel percolating: Holley 4160

I have a 4160 Holley, vacuum secondary carb on a 289 ford. After shutdown, it appears to be burping fuel down through the secondaries. I’ll be adding a phenolic spacer to try and cut down heat soaking; anything else I should be looking at?

Mitsubishi Mikuni carburetor

Worked with 1982 Mitsubishi Galant. Owner was disappointed with bad cold start and poor dynamics. I've found worn out points, improper dwell angle, retarded ignition timing, clogged jets and missing secondary throttle plate limiter, which caused the secondary to stuck. It's interesting that the middle part of that Mikuni carburetor is made of plastic and has small nuts under each mounting point!
