Just wanted to hear your guys' opinion, been playing varga for months I feel varga is strong if your triggers be showing at the right moments however the power creep makes his power level lower against the meta decks we have now, one things things i notice his weaknesses if your opp gets defensive triggers on your kill turn opp easily guard your kill turn, what bout u guys what weaknesses u noticed and what u guys think varga needs to able fight against the meta decks currently?
I wasn't playing in the era Glandios first released, but he seems fun. I have no idea where to start though. Do I grab G era copies? V era? What makes the deck tick?
I've been playing premium off and on for a year now, and was hoping to find something that was more normal than Angel Gyze for my friends to play against, but still weird and spicy. Astral Poets have fit that bill, but I'm hoping to branch out more.

My buddy and I used to play Dear Days a lot when we were younger and loved it. We took a break since then and were hoping to get back in just so we can have physical decks. No tournaments, no fuss really, just wanted to dick around at the kitchen table again. What would y'all recommend? Starter Decks, ordering from TCGPlayer, anything? I know my favorite decks from the past are a tad too expensive, so I won't ask about Favrneel or Drajeweled, I will just trust whatever y'all think. My favorite nation is Dark States so I'm hoping there's a cheap option for that. His favorite was Lyrical and then Keter so I'm hoping there's a cheap option for that. But honestly I'll take anything. I assumed the starter was the answer but I remember the Overdress starters being pretty abysmal so I'm admittedly a little worried about just shrugging and buying a starter without asking people who know what they're talking about.

I have never been more tilted playing a deck which is all about control but can't control a damn thing and it's hilarious how many common matchups completely ruin your day.
Varga shits on you, kai icon, ren icon, aichi icon all can still kill even with front lock, most decks which can swing early and rush you especially going second do not care about you, you are losing that match even before you ride into chaos.
Hell the new estacion which is seeing high testing since new support dropped yesterday completely smokes you since tokens can't be locked and their grade 3 blast can't be targeted by effects.
Japanese tournaments don't even have chaos breaker in charity lists right now for a good reason, I'm actually pissed off at the deck.
I've also just made a merch store that I talk about in the video, with tons of vanguard stickers and standees for tracking energy
Important premise: Despite VG being 6ft under for years in Italy where i live (and me being the nostalgic hardheaded bastard i am), i refuse to let it go. That is exactly why, in collaboration with my local middle school, i'm most likely going to host a VG-related after-school english club.
About that exact project, I'm in need of a hand with building some non-competitive and relatively easy-to-play decks (no "autopilot" decks) with some notable pre-requisites:
> apart from the clans which did NOT get their respective TDs (which sadly will have to be built from ground up), all decks must be upgraded versions of the original TDs, from TD01 to TD17 (no td15 bc it's a jp exclusive).
> upgrade guidelines are relatively easy for the most part: approx. 10 cards in, approx. 10 out, not counting upgrades to trigger units and adding sentinels
> for the non-TD clans (e.g. Dark Irregulars/Spike Bros), i need one deck for OG (before Limitbreak/Breakride), one for Breakride and one for Legion, only requirements being those above.
sidenote: i'm asking you guys because i used to play VG back in 2016 when it came out in Italy (i was 9 at the time) and have no knowledge of deckbuilding due to my age at the time.
