Look Ma, its Batman!😱
For this one, I wanted a simpler BATMAN! feel. A little more abstract and less in your face.
The subdial gets a geometric low-poly Batman inspired decal with little hits of cyan, yellow and white.
The decal is sealed under UV resin, so it does catch and reflect light at certain angles in photos. Under normal lighting it’s way less apparent and looks natural as the resin gives the decal a subtle 3D effect, magnified and extra depth.
The filter is all about that Gotham atmosphere, a cooler teal tones up top with dark blending fading into a warm yellow/champagne gold ember across the main display, representing the glow of the Bat Signal cutting through the night.
I kept the main time area fairly clean so the black LCD digits still punch through nicely.
Black case, black strap, dark faceplate & then just enough colour underneath to stop the whole thing from disappearing into stealth mode.

Hey everyone! This is going to be my very first watch, and I've decided on the AE1200. The only thing is, I'm stuck on which color to get. My wrist is pretty small, about 16.7cm, so I'm wondering if this watch would still look good
Also, I'm stuck on the color too. I'm trying to decide between the steel and the green. If I go with the steel, I'm thinking of swapping the strap out for a cloth one. What do you guys think? Help me choose between these two!!
I’m planning to buy my first watch and I really like the look of the Casio AE-1200WHD-1AV (Casio Royale). It seems to offer a lot for the price, but I’d like some honest advice before buying.
Casio India lists the MRP at ₹3,995.
Would you recommend this as a first watch? If you own one, what do you like/dislike about it? Also, are there any better options around the same budget that I should consider?

Why is the Casio AE1200 often referred to as the “Casio Royale?”
According to Google,
“The Casio AE1200 is nicknamed the "Casio Royale" because it strongly resembles the Seiko G757 Sports 100 watch worn by Roger Moore as James Bond in the 1983 film Octopussy. The moniker is a playful mashup of its look and a nod to the Casino Royale Bond film.”
So then, have you heard of the Q1200 by u/pipechap?
It was to be a custom Casio AE1200 case that mirrored the aesthetic of the Seiko G757, and still utilized the AE1200 module.
Unfortunately the Kickstarter never met its goal, and this didn’t come to fruition, although I’ve seen a couple of comments that he may try again in the future.
Until then, I decided to see what I could put together that’d be a close second.
I’d seen someone else post a mod, using a faceplate from RetroChrono on Etsy.
I reached out with the idea and they immediately knew what the Q1200 was! It was fun to work back-and-forth on this custom design. Tweaking some corners and color prints. They even went as far as suggesting and printing a custom crosshair to go over the dot on the analog clock.
I tried to find the same band as was being used on the Q1200 build, tried some different Amazon options, but I actually like the lightness and how it looks and feels on the stock resin strap.
Signature warm white LED mod, a metal eBay case, and this custom faceplate completes the build.
It’s subtle, but if you’re familiar with the AE1200 and were to glance at this watch, you’d immediately recognize that there’s something special about it.
It’s not quite the full Q1200, but I think I’ll call this one the RC1200 (RetroChrono).

Here’s a Glitch Mod centred on a DBZ battle happening across the watch rather than just sticking a character on the dial.
Went with Goku firing a Kamehameha in the world-map section, with Frieza taking the blast in the subdial. The blue energy from both pieces ties them together and makes the whole top half feel like one battle scene. If you zoom in you will notice that the alarm window has a galaxy in it.
For the filter I went with a galactic mix of magenta, purple and electric blue. On the left and right sides of the main LCD, you can see the Kamehameha travelling across the filter, while the centre stays cleaner so the digits remain easy to read.
Finished it with the black AE1200 and a matte navy blue leather strap. The navy works nicely with all the magenta in the filter without taking attention away from it.
The colours really come alive outdoors.

It was like 32 dollars at my local store. Wiped out the text since I didn’t like it that much. Any easy mods I can do without removing the whole watch?

I changed the finish of my Casio Royale watch bracelet from satin to sandblasted using a manual method involving a funnel and silica sand.
