Castro Valley wasn't on Mark DeSaulnier's list of 20 funding requests this year. What should your member of Congress be doing here?
Disclosure first: I'm Jeff Frese, and I'm running against Mark DeSaulnier for Congress in CA-10, which includes Castro Valley and Ashland.
Every member of the House gets to submit 20 community project funding requests a year. His list for next year went out in April. Brentwood and Byron are on it. Antioch is on it, and Antioch isn't even in this district anymore. Castro Valley, Ashland and east San Leandro aren't on it at all. He also has two district offices, in Walnut Creek and Antioch, and none in Alameda County.
That's about 79,000 people in this district who don't show up on his list. I'm not asking for anything in this post. I'm asking what belongs on that list. What does Castro Valley actually need from Washington? Roads, fire, schools, the BART station, something nobody's asked about?
Tell me here and I'll take the answers seriously, and onto my own list if I win.

Edit: fair correction from a commenter. Castro Valley joins this district under the new lines in January, so his April requests were for the district he represents today. My point stands that he's asking for Castro Valley's vote now with no office in Alameda County, but I should have said that plainly.
