RCA Mark 10
Found this old CB at the thrift. Is it worth tracking down a power cord and fixing up?
Or would I be better off with a newer model?
I found very little info on this model online. RCA Mark 10

I use the galaxy the most there are some problems with the mic input on the Royce does anyone know why?
I’m just curious what would happen if I hooked a amplifier to my cobra 29 I got a Wilson 5 foot fiberglass antenna silver loaded and it’s grounded on the side of the house I just want to extend my range could I amplify it or is it to small to do anything with
Im new to the CB community and have purchased a PNI Escort HP 65 and fitted into my ford ranger.
Ive followed the instructions to change the region from EU to UK but it's not work can anyone advise if im doing something wrong please
Its telling me to turn the radio off
Turn it back on holding the A/F button and the EU should flash so I can move though each region but its not doing anything other than locking and unlocking.
Any advice would be great, thankyou in advance
Would be nice to see Stu Soura end up like Mark Sherman.
Stu soura is the most dishonest CB shop in America.
From Multiple Fake Facebook/YouTube Accounts to Fake Youtube subscribers, stealing customers radio and endless drama with the CB shop. Anyone want to come forward to leave a Review based on your experience dealing with this guy? I'm sure we will get some made up Stu fake accounts that will say positive things. Stu is ruining this hobby
Hi. New to the CB game. The hookups were already set up in my semi (I have 2 antennas). I installed the radio and tuned it, but the ANT light kept coming on any time I hit the mic. So, I adjusted the VR6 until the light went off. My SWR is around 1, but when I flip up to my S/RF and hit the mic, it shoots up to over 3. Is Is that normal on that setting? Am I going to blow my new radio? Please help.
This is in Canada. I'm in a job where I have to fly to different projects, rent a truck and drive on forestry roads. I will need a CB to talk to forestry guys but because I'll have to rent vehicles I can't easily get a CB properly wired in. Can anyone recommend any that run off a 12V/cigarette lighter socket that are easily available online? Doesn't have to be perfect, just something with a few km range to get the job done. Or is that a dumb question and you really can't half-ass this stuff?
Sorry for the noob question, I've used CBs loads before in work trucks but I've never had to actually set anything up before. Thanks!
Ever since I put the Hustler HQ27 on my car, smaller birds have started landing on the coil. Makes sense, it IS one of the highest spots in the yard/driveway when I'm home.
I have a Bearcat 880 with a Sirio Performer 5000. SWR on the radio gives 1-1.03 and 40-1.83 and the 48” whip is pushed all the way in so the can’t shorten it anymore.
A) I didn’t want a an antenna that was that long. I actually bought it because I thought it was going to be shorter. The site I bought it from didn’t have a description of the whip length and the pictures made it look like it was quite short about 2 feet max can I trim the antenna?
B) can I replace the whip with a shorter one?
Husband and i were doing yard work today and we set up the cb incase a friend or family member wanted to talk while we didnt have our cell phones on us. Went to channel 19 and got nothing but some 8 bit ice cream truck music on it. Why! I dont get it. I get channel 6 is for anyone pushing out thousands of watts, we are not.
Picked up this 70s Cobra 21 w/ a K40(?) antenna base, handset and mount. I’m looking to install on a ‘77 Ford F-150. Not sure what’s up with the wiring, I might have to fix it (any insight please let me know)
I was told it worked when it was pulled out of a car about a month ago.
What antenna would be period correct to run with it and is there anything I need to do with the wiring?
I appreciate any and all help!!!
I paid $30 so not too high stakes if it’s busted
It’s hard to see, but I walked behind the truck backed into the dock. I completely cut out when I walked into the office. The test was performed with one continuous broadcast from a Uniden PRO401HH handheld CB and received on a 2019 Cobra 29 Classic Night Watch with aftermarket tuning. The test was performed at the port of Seattle. No one around here uses CB, so I doubt testing on CH19 bothered anyone.
Sometimes I’ll have my partner (the one who filmed this vid from the truck) spot me while backing. Other times, when I’m parked somewhere “questionable” while checking in for an appointment or grabbing a receipt, I’ll take the handheld while my partner keeps an eye on the truck.
In the process of cleaning out my FIL's house of hording I came across this radio. I haven't powered it up yet (no antenna and no power supply). I did open it up and saw some possible issues. The caps appear in good condition, BUT there are a few areas that look a bit crispy. Any thoughts on whether it's worth repairing or do I just toss it?
edit- It's MFG date is Jan '94
Was wondering if there was a definitive guide online for someone who does not know jack shit about cb radios or radios in general. My dad was telling me about how when he was a kid in the 70s-80s him and my uncle had a CB in their room that they used to talk to truckers, so I thought it would be funny to put one in my Corolla. Don't know what I'd do with it, but I think zoomers like me learning how to operate and use analog tech is a useful skill in general.
Just now, I made contact from Nova Scotia to Jamaica on 38LSB. 12 watts barefoot
99 Jamaica to 733 Nova Scotia and he come back to me 3 times in total
Is there a good repair shop in the San Antonio Tx area anymore?
So, I live in Italy, and for what I know we have a lot of rules here, but I don't understand anything of them, so I wanted to ask if you have any suggestions for a cb to put in my car and that is not modded/illegal.
Thank you everyone.
Am I the only one trying to call out DX land on a completely stock Uniden 980 ssb (4watt am/12 watt ssb) , and am I wasting my time?
Because it sure feels like it, I wait for the skip to start rolling (usually when ch 6 / 11 start coming in clear) then I go to 36-40 LSB and call out CQ CQ DX LAND, my made up operator number, my location, waving a stand, standing by and I don’t get any reply ever even when people are having full clear conversations on 38. I even wait for them to go “on the side” and try to get in again.
Hello everyone. Just installed this Cobra I bought used. Ran a new Wilson 18’ co phase cable. I think I’ve calibrated properly. Once I get above channel 14, I start to get the antenna warning and swr goes up like in the pic. Down in the lower channels swr is very low. Should I be concerned?
