Encore actually has weak bass in most of the songs
For the non-producers, I hope this isn’t too confusing:
When you distort something, you are adding higher frequencies (mid-high mid and treble). When you add frequencies, the other frequencies you didn’t increase will sound quieter in comparison. It’s a trade-off you have to balance.
The 808s in encore are distorted af, when you can hear the distortion a lot, that means the bass and sub bass are weak in comparison. You could go listen to a more chill artist after and their 808s will have way more bass and sub bass than Encore. Che isn’t pushing any limits here with the bass.
Sure, the distortion is cool for aesthetic, and it makes the 808 sit above the melody in the mix, but when you have the host shouting MORE BASS the whole time, it’s kind of corny considering there’s not actually a lot of bass there.
